Seeing new comments, to this day, making fun of JC is just sickening. Even after he's explained what this game has done to his life, and yet people think it's as simple as "it's just a game". No, the game is literally like 10% of it. Stop for a moment to think about how this simple mode had a story that spanned 10 years. Those years filled with wonderful memories, friends that are more like family, a career that has now given him his dream job, and so much more. If crying at the emotional weight of something that changed your life ending is considered pathetic, I question what kind of life you live to not feel sympathetic. Hell, I'm not a Black Ops 4 fan, but watching this again at like fricking 3 in the morning almost made me tear up because this truly has been a journey. I love Cold War, but what we had since World at War... will just never be the same- and I don't want it to be.

It's so nostalgic and makes me miss old days of when nacht def untoten was new and me, my brother and his friends would all drink monster all night and play zombies. You know what would have made a nice touch for the ending? If after the screen faded to white, it faded to black again. Then it fades to the Nacht Der Untoten intro, except there's nothing in the distance. Just the gray, desolate field, and no unsettling ambiance. The view then blacks out, as we spawn in the map. Except there's no barriers, no chalk drawings, no doors to buy, no mystery box to open... and no zombies. Just the calming, comforting sounds of the outside, and nothing but an M1911 in your hands. Before long, the screen fades to black, as that familiar choir plays for the last time.

I remember when I was around 8 years old and I watched my dad beat the campaign. Then after the credits rolled, We saw the nazi zombies cutscene. I was into zombie movies/games a lot when I was a kid, so I liked it, me and my dad would play split screen on nacht der untoten and me and my dad would be happy when we reached a round in the double digits. Then came black ops 1, me and my dad would take turns splitscreening with my uncle. While we were playing my uncle would tell me about the pack a punch and the perk machines. I would only play kino as I thought five was too hard. By the time black ops 2 came around I was in my first year of high school. My dad got black ops 2 for Christmas so on Christmas Day me, my dad, my uncle and. My older brother would play 4 player splitscreen on tranzit, farm, and bus depot. We played it till early hours in the morning. When black ops 3 was released I was stuck on last gen. I was even jealous because my friend pre ordered the bo3 limited edition PS4, I was so desperate I had thought of getting bo3 on Xbox 360. But I managed to get a PS4 later that year just before zetsubo came out. So I bought the season pass and downloaded all the available maps and played them with my friends. We would pull all nighters during weekends to do the Easter eggs. Then when zombie chronicles was announced I was hyped because it was fan favourite maps remade in the new engine, so I preordered it. Bad news was it came out during my gcse exams. But after doing an English exam we were allowed to go home early so I got the bus home, I couldn’t contain myself, I ran home and got in my PJs, waited for my friends to come home from school (they lived further away) so I played origins filled with excitement. When everyone was home we then started taking notes about which staff we were gonna have. And we scribbled the instructions on how to make the staffs (I always took fire). Then we spent the entire week grinding out the remastered maps. Damn, we even pulled all nighters on zombies in spaceland. I’m 19 in a couple of days and it shocks me to how much time has gone since I first played nazi zombies. It’s insane, sorry for the essay I’m just really passionate about this series. Thank you call of duty zombies.

I always get so emotional when I go back and watch old zombies trailers and videos. The memories I have playing with friends and just talking with people about everything zombies will last me a lifetime. I remember taking days off of school to watch DE and Rev streams. I am so glad that I was able to experience all the highs and lows of the Aether story and to be apart of this community. This cutscene made me cry too. 7 minutes of slowly realizing this truly is the end with the characters we know and love. Whether this is what treyarch wanted for zombies or whatever your opinion may be on this ending or bo4 zombies; I think we can all appreciate the amount of effort and love that went into creating this 10+ year journey. I absolutley loved bo4 and although I will admit Tag wasnt the map I expected to end on, I still love what we got. I'm glad we have the Dark Aether story in CW and I'm enjoying it a lot but it will be hard to ever live up to what we got here. I nearly shed a tear. I remember my first Easter egg. It was Mob of the Dead with some random people. It was amazing. I remember finishing the WaW campaign and then seeing Nazi Zombies. I swear half of my life has been about zombies. The BEST memories I had though were with the Z-House. When the zombies community was just the best. Still shed a Tear when I see that Jack hasn't uploaded or when I see that Lex doesn't upload zombies anymore. Honestly it's all just a big Rollercoaster of emotions. Zombies has been with me through out my whole teenage years. I remember getting home to play zombies after my first heartbreak, first kiss, everything. Kino Der toten was the first map my little brother every played. Fast forward 5 years and we completed the moon Easter egg on Chronicles. Little bastard was 6 years old at the time. Love him so much. I met 3 of my best friends while playing black ops 1. Jesus, Christ. So many stories. I remember I used to play with my dad every night some Ascension and Der Reise on black ops 1. God... I want to cry. It's not because zombies is ending, it's because of all the memories it gave me. I love zombies. And it will always be a part of my life. I guess who ever is reading this really doesn't care. But I don't know anybody else that shares this passion for zombies. So I share it with all of you. Thanks, Treyarch. Edward Richtofen actually I think they had a great job. You also have to remember that there was little production budget and people to work on it due to less interest at the beginning of the games life. Either way they still showed Nikolai in a way that shows him as a changed man and also shows us how sad Richtofen really is because he just wants everyone to live when he knew they needed to die. He wanted to find a way.

I come back to this video from time to time. It just makes me remember the 10 years of my life being part of a special community. I moved on from maining zombies after BO4. I specifically remember I was skipping one of my college classes when Zombies Chronicles was revealed here. I remember the excitement while I sat at a park in Manhattan with my buddies. Man I started playing zombies with my brother back on bo1 call of the dead and I was hooked then and now still I am. To see the end of the story take place on the remastered map of when I started playing really hits me I’m so upset the character’s storylines had to end but it was bound to happen eventually I guess. With that said I can confidently say I will always remember cod zombies in my heart and the amount of just fun it provided will remain unforgettable.

14:00 Nikolai wasn’t just talking to Richtofen, Takeo and Dempsey, he was talking to us, the player. For 10 years we’ve grew up on this and fought alongside the characters, our childhoods were growing up on Call Of Duty Zombies and these characters. Incredibly emotional for us players that were there for the start, we all had our favourite characters, but we all loved the characters equally. Nothing will come close to this story in a Call Of Duty game again. Treyarch, thank you for making our childhoods, we thought we were having fun, but instead we were making memories.
