The Enemies of Destiny - The Cabal

Destiny will feature four enemy races; the Fallen, Hive, Cabal and Vex. Today, I breakdown everything we know about the Cabal.
Unfortunately, There isn't any hands-on gameplay of the Cabal, so I had to recycle footage from trailers and use a few images.

Finally had a chance to fight against all 4 of the enemies in the game. I originally thought the Vex were gonna be my favorite, but after a while, sorry, but the Cabal are now my favorites, though Vex are still pretty awesome. The Cabal like you said are a powerful militaristic empire consisting of giant behemoths who's sheer size is highly intimidating. The classes are well varied, and the colossus Cabal I just think are some of the most badass enemy classes ever. I mean come on, not only is their armor the coolest, but they get a fucking minigun and can shoot missiles out of their backs. After this, ALL GLORY TO THE CABAL EMPIRE!!!!

Sam Lund I think he was assuming Praetorians were Cabal but they are Vex Minotaurs, he even stated they are in the VOG an this was uploaded before destiny was released so he didn't know about the legions etc

I like the Cabal. Especially when you first encounter them int the mission Exclusion Zone. Your ghost was hacking their network when he hits a Fail safe and gets detected. All the sudden the giant hanger door slowly opens just to reveal a line of Phalanxes with Centurions in the back with a giant Harvester dropping down Legionaries while its shooting missiles at you. Lol thats when you say Ohhh Fuck! Lol

Brilliant video, loving this little series and I thought I knew a lot about Destiny but learnt a lot from this! Mind when you speculated about the Praetorians protecting the leader, that was a bit too off the track, because literally a second after the still shot you took, you see the name of that unit is still a Phalanx, the colour scheme is probably based on the battalion/group they belong to, much like how Fallen colours work.

Something I found when I first ran into the Cabal is that it is not just centurions that have jump jets (not that I have run into them yet). Turns out all the legionaries have them. Seriously, those guys are NOT ment to fly.

Tip for killing the Phalanx: Shoot their exposed arm and then shoot the head. (Aim a tiny bit further from the arm though!)

The one thing about the phalanx that I don't like is that they're the same as any other enemy with a shield in any game. Shoot their arm, shoot their face, done. It's a trope.

commiedeer Yes. Sunsinger warlocks have a upgrade for their scortch melee attack to generate a shield around the player upon hit. Same goes with a defender titan, but the melee has to be a kill hit for it to activate.
