this dude is a genius! "your body tells the story of your life absolutely" If we've gone this far in the trauma treatment, it's because these people (Bessel van der kolk, Stephen porges, David berceli, peter levine etc) were standing on the shoulders of giants as the saying goes, this guy is the true giant, and he never mentioned nervous system in his books but he understood the overall picture, him and wilhelm reich

100% Very very true. The same ideas van der Kolk "the body keeps the score" were written by Reich in the 1950's....

Hoping this documentary will be added to Vimeo on demand for a reasonable price like the Wilhelm Reich documentary! Very few would pay $75 for the DVD, so now the documentary is just doomed to obscurity. But getting this message out is now as relevant as ever (or perhaps even more now), and this documentary could be a great step in that...

Finding a way to love everything you feel is the most difficult journey in life. Many may be discouraged and blame others but they know deep down they are responsible for how they feel and act. Maybe this manifests itself into looking like a loving person the most powerful of all beings.

There are techniques and exercises you can try that will help you bring up your emotions and release them. One of them is shown in this video.

Very interesting I would love to show this to my psych professor. I also think what he's talking about has to with being self aware because when you are I notice your aware of your body more and you can be more atuned to how you feel and think clearer which may lead to being less stressed. Just my theory. THANKS!!

Does anyone knows any real bioenergetics therapists in the uk? The only pratictioners I have found they just make you do the physical exercises without the psychotherapy side, which is integral part of the therapy

I don't know anyone in England, but I know Solveig Finlay Møller in Denmark. She is an extradonary fine therapist. And a pupil of Lowen. Maybe she can help you. To find someone or through skype. She is doing psychoteraphy. Good luck. - Laila Livsdatter 💮

A manner that is soft with a sense of grace and not dominated by sense of ego? That’s not alpha male Elliott is it? Elliott Hulse may teach the lowen technique famously but he thinks women are second class citizens still so something must be missing...

He wasn't this way when he first brought bioenergetics to the table like back in 2013 or so. He's changed a lot and my take is that due to all his injuries he could not be himself anymore. He used to scream his lungs out into his workouts, he used to be charismatic and goofy with Chris, Omar, or random dudes that came to his warehouse gym, now he's all a long face and preaches stoicism and denying one's heart and guts and he's all mind and rationality and "masculinity". He got so many injuries to the point where he must've lost his joy to live. If he couldn't train at 150% like he used to.. what reason to be happy about? I remember he put a lot of emphasis on working out as something before his wife and family, he said that if he doesn't train and looks after himself he won't be able to put as much on the table, him being a father, husband, provider is going to be diminished if he "sacrifices" himself for the better of the family, now he won't have the Lover handled so the Warrior will get Tyrannical and burnt out. Now of course, he owns several gyms and he and his family are set for life, but If you look at his older videos he was the opposite of the man he is today.

@@Virsidus that’s an interesting view... but I mean if he is not himself anymore then something must have gone wrong on healing path... since the point is to reconcile fragmented parts and be whole and ourselves again? I guess there would be a need in this hypothetical case to look into why ‘training 150%’ is so important, and what fear that is rooted in, in his body... which means he shouldn’t be seen as an authority on healing oneself, right? Someone like that would have been trained as a child to not have love or even be punished if they weren’t seen as performing perfectly, and it probably was a female that did that to him. But the whole point of Lowens technique is to heal that kind of thing from childhood,
@Virsidus
@Virsidus 3 жыл бұрын
@@MirageandReality nothing in regards of the healing. And by the 150% training was by his own choice and passion, being healthy and celebrating life and energy through weight training. Once you take away that and never be able to fix it, it's maddening. It's like taking away painting from picasso's life or martial arts from bruce lee, or wrestling from the legendary Undertaker which has retired after decades of doing it, he's not happy about it, because now he said he has to look for something else to love doing, since his body cannot take the beating anymore. You can heal the mind and body, by doing bioenergetics and eat the best foods that help, get the best rest but if you don't have THAT something to aim towards when you are mentally healthy, life becomes meaningless, because you cannot express your creative energy as you would want to. Those people mentioned above, they are not just their names, they are their craft also, they breathe that craft and when you take away that craft they become like empty vessels. As Viktor E. Frankl (or Nietzsche) said, if you don't have a why, everything will become one.
@MirageandReality
@MirageandReality 3 жыл бұрын
@@Virsidus if you feel like life is meaningless because you can’t work out 150% something is broken inside. But we think this is normal to be in that broken state. The natural state of the inner being and body is to be in joy, it doesn’t depend on what’s inside, and from that you create in a flow state. I believe there is always something the creative mother force wants you to do that will bring you happiness in another way but need to align yourself. There’s magic and meaning all around us all the time, in the force that makes the seeds grow and in nature in general. It’s sad because in our sickness we can’t connect to it and it’s so painful. There are people without arms and legs who have found that connection in a relative sense. I saw a guy on KZbin climbing a mountain without legs and being an inspirational speaker. It’s not about what you do, it’s about how you are doing things from a more whole state inside. Life only feels meaningless because we are empty inside, and use something outside to fill it and think that is making our lives have meaning, and then get unbalanced when that thing is taken away, which might be a good thing. when you heal properly you have meaning inside and then you express that on the outside which creates more meaning on the outside. Crude explanation of my conception. Lowen wrote a book called ‘Joy’. I know Frankls book very well and have thought deeply about it. When you are in a concentration camp environment or crisis in your life where your life is collapsing, you absolutely need an outside meaning to get through it. But later on, when you have relative luxury you can take time to heal further. I needed Frankl approach for many years, that was the only way to survive.

@@MirageandReality interesting, however I still feel one needs to do something they enjoy otherwise they go insane. We all have our standards to what we give an F about, perhaps his was to train with that intensity, then when hr was able only to curl pink dumbbells it was a giant hit to the ego. Having that something helps us focus our energy on something. Like you said, those people were still doing SOMETHING. The idea that we are happy by default, or more likely at Peace only lasts for so much. Last year has caused a lot of anxiety and depression due to the quarantine, people wanted to get out and do stuff. If this joy by default is from the Power of Now nonsense where one uses a part of the brain to escape another part of the brain, thinks of himself not as the body filled with raw energy and emotions with life here on Earth but as the sterile spirit, the promissed consciousness floating clowd for all eternity then I recommend you read Grounded Spirituality by Jeff Brown.
