The way I see the cheaper builds is not everyone can afford a $20,000 vehicle. I think Scott does a great job of making a affordable car for people that can only afford x amount on a vehicle. Some may see this as a waste but this will make someone a great car whether this is someones first car or a affordable second car. I wish there was someone like Scott 37 years ago when I was looking for my first car.

I have that 20k multiple times but I don't want to use it for daily driver, just for traveling every day from point a to b and back.

It’s amazing how well Scott knows these Grand Ams! He makes this huge rebuild project look like routine maintenance. I have really enjoyed this car rebuild, too.

If anyone can take credit for keeping a certain segment of the automotive world alive it's you and the Grand Am. Well done Sir! I've enjoyed every rescue. And I've started to notice tore up Grand Ams around town... Not bad little cars.

Keep it up Scott. I love your videos and they remind me of when I had to work for a living too --- 57 years worth. A man who runs out of ratchet straps cannot really call himself a man! I really am enjoying watching you waste your time saving this old Pontiac. Watching you reinstall that rusty junction box bracket onto that freshly painted inner fender well was sooo satisfying! I could hear the clean freaks wailing all the way over here! I do miss the Pontiac brand though, after all they DID build excitement!

I really enjoy your videos. I just bought my wife a new Traverse and the first thing I did was go to your Amazon page and ordered several cans of the cavity wax and sealed up everything I could on the car. I also live in the land of corruption and rust!! Thanks for all the tips and great videos!!

I'm sure you'd agree that not matching the brake lines with the rest of the underside was the better spent effort. Definitely not an OCD guy's car! :)

I really enjoy these videos of you working on older model cars, very nostalgic but I do have one complaint this time, I wish you would've painted the bracket that holds the junction/fuse box, the engine bay looks soo nice painted and clean and that rusty bracket looks horrible, other then that, great videos, can't wait for the next one

When I was in high school these cars were new and always wanted a Grand Am Gt I ended up with an Se but they were great cars they drive really nice and they are powerful, today I feel like buying one just because I see that you fix them and leave them like nothing happened I think there is still hope, just change all engine gaskets and those things will drive another 100k miles!

I know you have a lot of rebuilds under your belt and are a mechanic but do you have a reminder list of all the things you need to do to get the car back together and working? There was so much to do all over the place. This is a great build. thanks Scott. Never boring build fridays.

I think I need rust OCD pheraphy after seeing that bracket fitted. You can't even see it, but you know it there....! We used to have Lanica cars in the UK but then it rained 🌧 Great project 👍

I bet they ran a bigger wire from the alternator to the starter and removed both before selling the car (common practice with high power stereo, part of the Big 3 upgrade)

I respect the N body emporium you have assembled. My emporium was A body Oldsmobiles. Once you tear apart 3 or 4 and pass the "learning curve" it no more trouble than mowing the lawn.

Do you ever have to return parts to Scott's Parts Emporium for warranty replacement? ; ) I still cringe seeing northern IL rust and shouldn't after decades of dealing with it. Enjoying the rebuild as always.

I really enjoy your channel I’ve been watching for years please keep them coming. I worked at a Pontiac dealership when those cars came out they were easy to work on and sold like hot cakes couldn’t keep them in stock.

@@geoffgay3637- Same here, I put together a White 2004 Grand Am GT coupe recently. It had rear end damage, & as keeping with the theme, my name is also Scott. My Pontiac Emporium is also filled with different parts. I have parts from Grand Am, G8, & G5 cars respectively. The GA was $500 from Copart, & $300 from Scott's Pontiac Emporium. All in I spent only $800 for the car, with only 108K miles. The weird thing is I had to get tires, & they cost almost as much as the whole car cost all in. This car keeps the miles off of my 2008 G8.👍 Hello from Phoenix Arizona❗🔥

@@pinball541 good morning from virginia..I just think looking at all the car parts he has left would be cool..I love going to pick the parts i need for a project..Im really looking on copart for a project .I have a copart lot bout 15 miles from home very close to Richmond va airport..My garage has extra parts from projects ..Im working on an S10 4x4 from my grandson 16th birthday coming in Dec.Recently fixed a honda hit in rear for 83.00 in parts even the same color.

@@geoffgay3637- Cool, but I would suggest going to Copart yourself to look at the cars you are interested in. You really take a risk if the cars are bought sight unseen. Also, insurance cars are a safer bet.

I have family in the car industry he is buyer for a local dealer and he took me to corpart here in town to shop the dealers only sale.and he is willing to help me . He goes to sales up and down the east coast.And now i can be a driver of car bought .. So i have an in on copart..

FYI: if you going to do brake work, you need ALL 4 brake bleeder to make sure that you can open them. I seen brake bleeder brake OFF, and they are so hard steel i could not drill it out. I had to get a new brake caliber.
