✅ How to use 2 separate strips of leather for the gussets rather than one wide piece. Easier to split using a manual ‘pull-through’ splitter. This can even be split by hand using a simple technique with one tool that costs around £8/$10 (I did).
✅ Gussets that are a custom sized with a technique designed to size your gussets to any briefcase, small or large. Which means if you want to change the design, you don’t have to worry about mismatched gussets.
✅ The lock position is completely customised for each case. This is so you can use another type of lock. Which means you will still be able to find the perfect position without any compromise.
✅ The briefcase design doesn’t make you use buckle strap closures. This minimises complexity and in my opinion practicality. It also gives the briefcase a minimalist and uncluttered look that shifts focus to clean lines and the quality of the hide being used. I personally think it’s a more modern choice.
✅ The course also comes with a recipe for leather edge stain. This isn’t a dye or edge paint, rather it is a liquid that stains the edges and permanently binds the fibres together. One application, then burnish, nothing else needed. This holds a polished edge for years after it’s been finished and is even scuff resistant compared to other finishes such as tokonole, gum or wax.

Hello, I would like to know, when you make these executive briefcases, how do you know how far to place the gold clasp to make the leather lid and not be tight when closing the briefcase when you finish the project?
