Thanks for the question! From what I know, I don't think making a painting/picture of God the Father is the norm though I realize it is actually depicted in even a few paintings found in Eastern Orthodox Churches especially Russian Orthodox ones to convey or show a certain meaning. With that being said, it is debatable but there is arguably an ancient icon depiction of God the Father however most Church Fathers always saw that icon as a prophetic revelation of the Son before his physical incarnation. Look in the description for more information. 🙂

Making idols of god in the old testament was bad since we knew not what god looked like, but in the new testament now that we know what God the Son looks like, Jesus did sort of explain what God the Father looks like but h said it was something we could never comprehend so making pictures of God the father probably isn't that good

@@fan.80s_90s my prayer rope is 100 knots and has 2 small metal crosses w Mary and Jesus so I pray Jesus prayer and every prayer said move one knot w finger to keep yourself focused then when I feel the metal cross i pray to Holy Mother of our God Theotokos to pray for us and save us ,also many times after Theotokos i ask some saints to pray for me that come to mind and I like alot sometimes I just ask all saints of God intercede for us also I interchange me and us all the time .Jesus prayer can also be prayed for ither by saying "Lord Jesus Christ Son of God have mercy on "name" ,a sinner . Apostolic Christians believe that they are part of the great cloud of witnesses, they partake in the divine nature of God as 2nd Peter promises, they are not bound by flesh, or by earthly limitations, in perfect harmony with God they can see us, hear us, love us. We can see instances where the martyrs in heaven ask God when they will be avenged, they know what goes down on the Earth and so logically follows that they can still ask God for stuff.

Vain repetitions of prayers. This is not prayer. Prayer is genuine communication with God. This is just a hymn but you should not take this as an example of how to pray. Genuine seekers will pray in the heart and mind through a genuine desire of starting or growing a relationship with Christ. These types of prayers will only inhibit you from encountering Christ because your heart is not pure in the intent of seeking

Nobody's talking about writing icons of the Lord Jesus Christ. It's not merely ok but necessary to write icons of the Lord Jesus, the Theotokos, the holy angels & Saints. Even though we call the holy angels the Bodiless Powers, they di have bodies, just not gross bodies visible to us. They have very subtle bodies that many holy ones have seen. The HS is depicted as tongof fire etc as described in Scripture. God the Father however cannot be depicted. No Orthodox ever did--our Russians only began this false practice due to their sad Babylonian captivity by the Jesuits. Never before that. It is NOT Orthodox & must not be done. God the Son is the Ancient of Days with the white hair. God the Son is the pre-eternal Logos before He incarnated in the flesh as the Lord Jesus Christ. God the Son is the Lord Jesus, Who is the God-Man, both fully human and fully divine. When the OT Saints & Prophets saw God, the Divine Person they saw was always God the Son, the Second Person of the Most Holy Trinity, prior to His Incarnation. When the Most Holy Trinity created man in His image, it was in the image of God the Son, Who would incarnate in time, whether our first parents fell or not. The fall of our first parents made the crucifixion of our Lord necessary. But had they not fallen, the Second Person of the Most Holy Trinity would still have incarnated. And it was in His image that man was created, i.e., the image of the Incarnation of the Second Person of the Most Holy Trinity (the Lord Jesus Christ), which would happen in time.
