@@tke56789 there is no way to control fear. but there is a way to understand fear and the puspose of fear. Some fear is rational, some isnt. When we are anxious about things Jesus tells us not to worry about then we know we can stop paying attention to it without fear of any consequence. Other fears are rational and serve as mechanisms of protection.

I'm a Protestant, and also has been watching Father Spyridon's videos for some time. Whilst I might not agree with everything that he says, he definitely unpacks wisdom. Not only from teaching of the church fathers, but more importantly from Scripture, and ultimately from the Holy Spirit who lives in all of his children. The Scripture is clear that we all sin and will continue to sin until we are fully restored and will be in God presence forever. The sign of a true believer is that we repent - we can not just continue to wallow in our sin.

I'm with you there! We're made for pleasure! (and the enemy knows it!)... but the pleasure of knowing God. "Rejoice in the Lord", and in humility (Phil 2), meditate upon who you are "in Him" through the baptismal regenerative justifying Grace of the Spirit (Rom 5, Col 3, Titus) - Justified, dead, buried risen, and hidden... Of course no spirit or no dimension can snatch us out of his hands... but we can walk away... and so we must simply keep the connection, "keep the seal"... but the more we are filled with the Word of God, the less we will Desire anything to interrupt the flow of righteousness, peace and joy that is found within Him, and we can enjoy the knowledge of our present salvation each and every day : ) Glory! @@coolbombprime986what really helped me was Matthew 5:30 which says if your arm causes you to sin, cut it off. For me, “cutting my arm off” was cutting off all my access to any porn. To do that, I got covenant eyes and also an app called screen zen that will block certain apps. By cutting off access completely to that, I have actually felt some freedom from it for once. Also just letting this issue be known to fellow believers and bringing it into the light, you can defeat it. Telling a trusted individual really helped me to do something about it. I know how difficult this struggle is, just remember you’re not alone and it’s possible to find complete freedom in this area through Jesus. I wish the best for you on your journey of defeating this once and for all! God bless

I know the pain you're in very well. I'm going to give you the advice I have recieved over the years. I do not wish to mislead you, so please know that I'm not saying I'm definitely correct on this advice - if you have access to priests, it's probably best to run any ideas on how to change past them first, because I don't want to offer bad advice when you are in a hard situation. (Please keep in mind I am imperfect so maybe just bring any questions you have to a priest, if you have a good priest available) I strongly recommend praying to 5 saints to aid in desperate causes. (St. Joseph; to rescue out of difficult and dangerous situations, St. Padre Pio; to make a miracle and keep you from falling again or too many times, St. Rita, to find intercession for you in heaven. St. Michael the Archangel; to fight our battle with us and lead us away from danger. St. Jude Thaddeus, to keep despair at bay. Of course you can pair any intention with each saint. A very good Catholic told me that we can also fall into traps where we think that we can push ourselves towards salvation. But we have to realise that we can't save ourselves; God alone saves us through his power, so we have to ask consistently for God's forgiveness in the sacrament of Confession (I hope its available for you) & in prayers and for his strength to keep us on the path always. That being said, priests have advised me that we of course must take action to combat these sins, though we are so frail, and pray & believe that because we are doing our best and can't do more, God will save us from our sin. Advice I got from a priest was to mortify the flesh; try fasting a little and increase it more. (Of course, if you are able, yoou can start out very small and eventually work up to fasting, so long as your health & body allows) Get physical exercise in, and try find physical work as well. Take up a sport, maybe? Playing tennis, if you can? Learn to juggle? Essentially, keep an innocent and pure hobby at hand; learn an instrument if you have the means. Anything pure that requires dedication. Because these sins are defeated and cut off by doing the opposite. These sins want us to fall to the desires of the body. So undermine those desires in a natural way. Eat less, walk outside. If we want to indulge our bodies, take a cold, cold shower if we can. Or walk outside with fresh air. Above all, avoid being alone. Keep doors open throughout your house if possible so you do not feel shut off, try get yourself out of bed quickly upon waking and dont lie in bed if you're not going to sleep. Making your use of the internet public, by not putting on headphones means you will only play acceptable things. Keep going❤ never despair. Oh!! Please, if you can find it, read 'Christ is passing by' by Saint Josemaria. It is a collection of St. Josemaria's sermons. It is amazingly beautiful and fills us with hope. (St. Josemaria will help you if you ask him❤) God bless you. If you can keep me in your prayers, please do; there is so much I have to repent for - I will pray for you❤ (If it helps, consider how much greater your relationship with God will become by surmounting this trial no matter how long it takes & no matter how many tries; but think of how you can come to know God through this suffering and reach him. What I'm trying to say is look forward to cleaning this part of our lives up and moving onto the next thing God wants for us. St Josemaria says that we must leave our sins writhing in the ditch, climb out of the ditch and start on the path again through the aid of Confession if it is available to you.❤

I have stopped smoking too and believe me after 30 years of smoking pot, I have never felt clearer, lighter and more present. I never thought I would ever stop because I believed that it helped me deal with stress, problems and the world. I now know that was a big lie. Please just take one day at a time, drink lots of water and walk every day if you can. You will feel calmer and happier every day. I promise you. Thank you Father. This is enlightening. I sin habitually- daily. I smoke weed and vape regularly. It takes a great effort for me to go hours without nicotine, and it is very difficult for me to not lean on marijuana to help me sleep. Ive been an anxious mess my whole life, and my life is 100% better since I came to Christ…but im deeply confused and conflicted by my addictions. I repent every night, just to repeat said sin of smoking before bed. I feel powerless. I cry almost every night the last few weeks, praying and begging to be changed- i do not know why I keep choosing my vices. I am a lukewarm Christian in my action…i do not know repentance despite me trying, I have had the Lords forgiveness but chose to self-medicate instead of baring this cross. I pray for direct help from Christ, I cannot do this on my own…I am overwhelmed and confused by what I do. I hate what I do. Despite this, I have faith that Christ will restore me in time..as long as I keep trying. I wish to be free from my vice..i would like to rest my head at night, knowing I do not need any substance to feel okay.

I am a protestant evangelical here in the midwest of the States and I have to say this channel has been a huge blessing. Respectfully, are no "other parts of the faith". There is only one faith taught by Christ and preserved by through His Holy Orthodox Church. You are either in it or you are outside of it. I am a methodist because I think that the additions to the bible done by the Catholic Church and some of the actions of the church are unholy at best and blasphemous at worst. This does not mean I am correct or my church is the only way, more so I ask you, why are you Catholic? I find it is easy for the Catholics I have met to fall into a checklist Christianity that my church speaks highly against. I have never attended an Orthodox church but when I called on the name of Jesus I was saved and began to see my life drastically change. Read scripture! And don’t interpret it in a way that fits your narrative. Scripture is what defines tradition not vice versa. Seek the Lord with all your heart and He will remove that sectarian mentality that He does not approve of in 1 Corinthians 1:10-13.

I repent my sins sincerely and with a great, great depth of feeling. I know I hurt Jesus Christ when I say or do something bad. I know this. And I repent of it.
