When we are anxious about things Jesus tells us not to worry about then we know we can stop paying attention to it without fear of any consequence. Other fears are rational and serve as mechanisms of protection.

I'm a Protestant, and also has been watching Father Spyridon's videos for some time. Whilst I might not agree with everything that he says, he definitely unpacks wisdom. Not only from teaching of the church fathers, but more importantly from Scripture, and ultimately from the Holy Spirit who lives in all of his children. The Scripture is clear that we all sin and will continue to sin until we are fully restored and will be in God presence forever. The sign of a true believer is that we repent - we can not just continue to wallow in our sin.

@@coolbombprime986what really helped me was Matthew 5:30 which says if your arm causes you to sin, cut it off. For me, “cutting my arm off” was cutting off all my access to any porn. To do that, I got covenant eyes and also an app called screen zen that will block certain apps. By cutting off access completely to that, I have actually felt some freedom from it for once. Also just letting this issue be known to fellow believers and bringing it into the light, you can defeat it. Telling a trusted individual really helped me to do something about it. I know how difficult this struggle is, just remember you’re not alone and it’s possible to find complete freedom in this area through Jesus. I wish the best for you on your journey of defeating this once and for all! God bless

Thank you Father. This is enlightening. I sin habitually- daily. I smoke weed and vape regularly. It takes a great effort for me to go hours without nicotine, and it is very difficult for me to not lean on marijuana to help me sleep. Ive been an anxious mess my whole life, and my life is 100% better since I came to Christ…but im deeply confused and conflicted by my addictions. I repent every night, just to repeat said sin of smoking before bed. I feel powerless. I cry almost every night the last few weeks, praying and begging to be changed- i do not know why I keep choosing my vices. I am a lukewarm Christian in my action…i do not know repentance despite me trying, I have had the Lords forgiveness but chose to self-medicate instead of baring this cross. I pray for direct help from Christ, I cannot do this on my own…I am overwhelmed and confused by what I do. I hate what I do. Despite this, I have faith that Christ will restore me in time..as long as I keep trying. I wish to be free from my vice..i would like to rest my head at night, knowing I do not need any substance to feel okay.

Our loving God YHWH just did the same for me. I fell back into kratom and was feeling completely crawly and hopeless and I tried to play a video game. I am a methodist because I think that the additions to the bible done by the Catholic Church and some of the actions of the church are unholy at best and blasphemous at worst. This does not mean I am correct or my church is the only way, more so I ask you, why are you Catholic? I find it is easy for the Catholics I have met to fall into a checklist Christianity that my church speaks highly against. So I say to you, remember to be humble and make no assumptions you are more right than others.

I have never attended an Orthodox church but when I called on the name of Jesus I was saved and began to see my life drastically change. Read scripture! And don’t interpret it in a way that fits your narrative. Scripture is what defines tradition not vice versa. Seek the Lord with all your heart and He will remove that sectarian mentality that He does not approve of in 1 Corinthians 1:10-13.

This is truely mindblowing to me. I tried to find God thru protestantism and it's legalism because of my regrets in life, but in truth it proved to be nothing but destructive to my concience making me feel empty and hollow and more Godless than before i ever touched a Bible. Now i am discovering Orthedoxy and that it affirms my objections, and it seems so much more beutifull and so much more real. Man i'm crying, I want to be baptized and part of your church!
