In the first game alone there's 3 keyblade wielders (Sora, Riku and Mickey) and the existence of Keyholes in the first place insinuates that keyblades existed before KH1. And then there's the secret ending which features a 4th keyblade wielder, Roxas. The "Nomura retconned this" argument holds no weight.

Simplify the plot to Kingdom Hearts? You go to different Disney locations and fight monsters with Disney characters, all while looking for a lost friend as you do. That’s about it. That’s not just for the first entry that’s pretty the entire point of the entire franchise. The main character’s driving motive throughout the ENTIRE series is that he’s looking for a lost friend. The only thing that changes is that he’s looking for a different friend in each game.

I am big fan of KH since first part on PS2, but man, who would create a game with lore so confusing and who's rules break with every new addition of the game. Also, you need to have few different consoles in order to really play them out in order. I was just asking myself why would developer make such a mess of a lore and decide to go further into confusing the people with games being spread on multiple platforms while all are crucial to story in some way. And yes, you can today get em all in bundles on pc (i think) or ps,but through years that wasn't the case. People love the game, but devs do everything against us. I will never understand it, yet i will never stop playing this masterpiece.

I am a bit confused because we never see Xehanort place his heart inside Aqua, so to me it made more sense she fell to despair inside the Dark Ocean and fell to Darkness. She then gained the yellow eyes that way, the same way that Heartless naturally have them or Vanitas has them as a being from the Darkness despite not being a vessel for Xehanort (during BBS).
