Shorter version: Bad guy Xehanort has been trying for over a decade to start a Keyblade War using Kingdom Hearts, has been stopped at every turn, but had made plans to accomodate every failure, and now Sora has to stop his final plan, which involves him bringing all versions of himself from his past into the present, in addition to saving several other characters whose lives were ruined by Xehanort in his quest for knowledge; Terra, whose body he stole, Ventus, who was put in a coma after fighting the dark side of his heart which Xehanort turned into its own being, Vanitas; Aqua, their friend who got lost in the realm of darkness after trying to save them; Roxas and Namine, Sora and Kairi's nobodies created when Sora turned into a heartless that one time, and Xion, an artificial clone of Sora made during one of Xehanort's plans in an effort to gain control over the Keyblade to help them create their own Kingdom Hearts.
