All 8 episodes together, for the ultimate viewing experience! This has been a huge amount of work over many months and we're very proud of everyone involved that meant we could complete it before the Shadow of the Erdtree. There is also lots of speculation and theorising throughout, as it is all only our opinion, so we are keen to hear your own theories in the context of a full timeline! Back to a more normal release schedule now - we'll see you in the DLC! Praise the Lore!

I've never seen any of these individual parts you mention, but this video is amazing. It's not just the relentless focus, but how parsed out the characters and themes are displayed when and only when they are the focus. It's the only way to form a cogent timeline where so many other people have tried and failed. Great work. P.S. Only critique i'd give is the constant cutscene/in-game narration breaks. It really ruins the flow of your presentation and is completely superfluous as you're explaining all the dialogue and its context anyway. Plus content like this is (mostly) for people who have already experienced the game so it just kills time in the video where I could get the better experience in game.

It's not curious that Pyke didn't use frenzied flame while in the evergaol. You can find the item Fingerprint grapes, which are frenzied eyes with fingerprints on them in the game. They without a doubt are Pykes eye(s). After his maiden died he was engulfed with grief. The whole reason he became a inheritor of the Frenzied Flame was to save his maiden, however with her death he was able to tear out one of his eyes and rid himself of the flame, where he then put himself into a evergaol to repent for his sin's. The only reason we aren't able to do so, but we have to do a very strict quest to remove it is because Pyke inherited the flame with his armor on (AKA The Fingerprint Armor). Shielding him from most of it but his eyes were open to the flame as a whole from the three fingers. Hence him only removing his eye removed the Frenzied flame. Us removing all of our armor to mark our bodies meaning we needed something a demigod has made (Miquelle made the Needles for Rot begotten people such as his sister) to rid themselves of something like the Frienzed flame (a outer gods influences from outside the land between) since it was burned onto our very vessel.

@@MercurialStatic "...now if you're like me and finding all of this *horribly* confusing and chaotic so far, well unfortunately it gets worse because it's around this time that one of my absolute favourite figures in this story finally starts making appearances in the historical record, and she's going to upend everything we've been talking about so far. The ancient Elden sources would pronounce her name something like 'Renna', but of course she's known to us as Ranni, or sometimes 'Ranni The Witch'. The primary sources give utterly fantastical accounts of her abilities - some say she conjures moon powers, others claim that in her youth she tames a wolf-beast and a troll to use as her minions. Modern historians are relatively certain she ordered the assassination of one of her own half-mad brothers, and they're almost universally certain that she also organized that assassination event we talked about at the start of the episode that set off this whole Shattering business in the first place. Imagine the elemental powers of a Gandalf combined with the brutal Machiavellian calculations of a Littlefinger and you can start to get an idea of what sort of character we're dealing with here..."

I think a really interesting detail that seems too important to just ignore, is that there are only two types of living trees in The Lands Between. One resembles the Erdtree, the other is distinctly similar to the greattree reliefs. It to me suggests that there was a different tree, that is still sprouting new shoots from it’s root system, despite the central tree being long gone.

Is it weird that I now see the Frenzyflame ending as poetic? Probably. I like the cynicism of "the world is dying, the Erdtree and all that it encompasses are a shadow of their former selves, there are no more hierarchies aside from little pockets of wayward upstarts, the two fingers are bowed with age and feeble (not to mention frauds based on what we learn in the DLC) "But maybe, just maybe, this One last Tarnished can right the wrongs of the world and restore order by becoming Elden lord" And then you just burn it all down.

i always thought the god slayers were killing "empyrean" gods like marakith not outergods. more like ensuring the death of a leader or empire. i also think the gloam eye queen could be more of a title like elden lord. also this thought could go to the blue dancer, he sealed away the leader of the rot civilization a god of rot [the guy the statue is of] and not a full blown outer god who may reside in space.

Is it possible that the two different tree sigils, one skinny and the other more full, are the same tree at different stages of growth? I do think, based on the evidence, there may have been a second tree, but it feels plausible that the older sigils were carved when the Erdtree was still growing, and the later ones were carved when its branches had grown more fully.

I wonder how much of this bloodshed Marika actually wanted vs how much was forced on her by the Greater Will. Based off what we know of her when she was younger. Desiring to heal her genocided people , wanting to remove death, yearning for a family & love. At some point she looked back on all she had done as a god & was disgusted. She must have began resenting herself & even more than that the Greater Will. Probably why her true successor is Ranni. The one free from the greater will who does not give up her love & loyalty to ascend. This also explains why Miquella must be slain he just repeats the exact mistakes his mother did. Meanwhile Frenzy flame is her worst case scenario plan. You destroy everything she built but in the end get hunted down by Melina. Keep in mind Melina is the only character to use the minor Erdtree incantation. A secret incantation with only the kindness of gold, without Order. Order representing the Greater Will & is intentionally capitalized to show that. A spell she leaves to radiate her now vacant home town. She cared so deeply but in the end it was all just to build the next age upon her ruins. & so the cycle continues.
