@ElNeroDiablo3 жыл бұрын
It's fun watching your reactions to Tug's narration of events, and trying to decode if Sodor is real or not. Sadly in our world Sodor is fictional, but within the Railway series books things from our world (like Awdry's writing of stories and the TV show) are real pieces of fiction there. It gets kinda 4th wall breaking sometimes as most of the stories from the first 4-5 seasons of the show we have are direct adaptions of stories from the books in our world, which means they're adaptions of stories of real events in the Thomas book universe. As for things like Thomas being booked by cops and Toby being bought to run that branch section and all the crashes; it has to do with the realism Awdry wrote in to the stories such as the law of a train running on a section of non-fenced track must have side-plates and cow catchers to protect humans and animal straying on the line (this is a key plot point in the early TV show as to why Toby & Mavis run the line to/from the quarry on Thomas' branch even after it has fences built), and sadly the history of rail travel is filled with crashes that over time made it safer and easier to travel by rail (such as the current safety feature of if an engine passes a signal at danger, a trigger is pulled that causes the train to come to a stop soon after the signal to prevent rear-end or head-on collisions, which sometimes still happen because of faults in the systems). As for why Flying Scotsman is so popular - it was the prime express train from London to Edinburgh (as it "flew up to Scotland") and the loco was named after the service (not the other way around). As steam locos were removed from service in the UK, The Flying Scotsman went in to preservation and on tours around the world as the last Pacific (4-6-2 wheel arrangement) engine designed by Sir Nigel Gresly in working condition, until a new A3 based on Peppercorn's designs (evolved from Gresly's) was built over the 1990's and 2000's and eventually came in to service in 2011 - Tornado.
@liamkrumnow86652 жыл бұрын
Sorry to correct you, but a Pacific wheel arrangement is 4-6-2, not 2-6-4. The Whyte notation is determined by looking from the front to the back or look at left side and go from right to left.

Sodor’s completely fictitious unless someone raises the funds to build an artificial island between Britain and the Isle of Man. The reason why the Culdee Fell engines’ boilers are angled is because the water in the boiler would slosh backwards into the fire on the hills because if they weren’t angled, the boiler would explode from the sudden drop in pressure. 13:45 It was some sort of law that required covered wheels to protect animals from being dragged under the wheels and trams are the only types of engines that have covered wheels. 18:01 You really need to research this legendary locomotive. Scotsman's fame comes with him being officially the first steam locomotive to go 100 mph (City of Truro's is kinda unofficial) He's the sole survivor of Nigel Gresley's A1/A3 pacifics and turns 98 years old this year. He's also toured the US (which Tug is working on covering in future) and Australia throughout his later years, and has the longest travelled distance of any steam engine. A 16 minute video of Scotsman's life can found on Chris Eden-Green's channel where he also covers almost all things about British steam trains and he even has a 5 volume DVD series called 'Steam Locos in Profile'; I highly recommend checking out his content, though you might not wanna do reactions (as much as I'd love to see them) for sake of money stuff he goes through making these.

With my reaction videos, especially ones that are in relation to super long content, I typically only include the sections where I actually provided commentary or said something that I considered helpful for the reaction video itself. That's kind of the tough thing about reaction videos, sometimes I don't even consider important parts of certain content, especially if I'm not familiar with the video/topic. That sometimes makes people confused and upset that I didn't feature their favorite part of a video. I haven't really ever thought about the number of times that I say that...maybe I should rethink my intro lol. Thank you very much for stopping by and checking this video out, I hope that you were able to enjoy it in some way. Are you a fan of the Thomas and Friends community? I hope that everything is going well on your end. Have a good one friendo! :D

The difference in illustrations was Rev W Awdry wasn't happy with the different ways the art was drawn, the first artist Reginald Dalby wouldn't draw the characters correctly and he resigned on Percy's book

Heyo Eddy! :) Lol yep, sometimes my commentary isn't that creative or unique. All of the videos that I react to are pieces of content that I'm seeing for the first time, so taking the time to process what I'm actually seeing is usually super short. For the most part, I usually take what I see and understand it as best as possible, although my statements typically end up being short and uncreative unless there's a long pause between major events within a video. However, it's nice to see that you found that particular phrase funny or enjoyable in some sense. This entire video was jam-packed with interesting sections, so I had a fun time checking it out. Thank you for giving this reaction and for providing some slight input with the quote, I appreciate your time and feedback. Let me know if there's anything that I can do for you. Have a good one friendo! :]

sodor is not real😄, its just that the Reverend wilbert awdry wanted to make the island of sodor and its history as real as possible, even the engines have real life locomotive basis.
@WhattheHay3 жыл бұрын
Heyo Tengku! :) Oh gosh, that sort of stinks that it's not actually real. However, the creativity and uniqueness behind the idea of Sodor are amazing. Awdry put so much thought into it. Thank you very much for explaining all of this to me, it's very helpful and kind of you to do. With the way that The Unlucky Tug made the video, Sodor sounded like a genuine place. Thank you very much for taking the time to check out this reaction, I really appreciate it. Have a good one friendo! :D

The reason the Flying Scotsman is so popular is because he's the first official locomotive sorry greatwestern fans to go 100 miles per hour and also he was in this Showcase of Britain's machinery and he went around the the world he went to America and then went to Australia
@YELLOW_M23 жыл бұрын
The reason why the Flying Scotsman is popular because it is the only A1/A3 that is still used in service. Another reason why the Flying Scotsman is popular because it was the first engine to reach 100 MPH excluding the fact that City Of Truros 100 mph run wasn't really official, it also went on a American tour by the famous driver Alan Pegler.

Are you a big fan of the stories/shows/movies? I did watch some of the show growing up, but I didn't really stick around to watch everything that it has become now. Thank you again for the support!

What The Hay: Tokyo Mew Mew?
@WhattheHay2 жыл бұрын
Heyo Jack! :) That's one series that I have yet to watch or read but it looks interesting. I'm not usually someone who is super into bright colors, but all of the manga covers look pretty fun. I've heard that Tokyo Mew Mew is getting a reboot, but I haven't really kept up with the updates on it. Is the series something that you've been into in the past or is it something that you've just recently gotten into? I'll go ahead and screenshot your question so that I have it saved for the future. It probably won't be until 2023 when I cover your topic but feel free to let me know if you have any questions or concerns about the future video. I look forward to researching the topic and possibly actually watching some of the material. Thank you for the request and for coming by to check out this reaction, I appreciate your time. Let me know if there's anything that I can do for you. Have a good one friendo! :]

The Island of Sodor is a fictional island created by Wilbert Audrey however though it is fictional, it is influenced by real world events and all of the characters are based off of real life engines that were and are real. The Island of Sodor’s location would be between the UK and The Isle of Man and also the island of Sodor is connected to the Mainland ( The UK ) by a bridge and the North Western Railway connects to Barrow-in-furness which is a real town in the real world, so though the Island is fake, it is influenced by real events that happened in real life like the Diesel’s becoming popular in the UK and their are also characters that are basically in real life like Stepeney and The Flying Scotsman. Their are a lot of Real World influences that make the Island of Sodor feel like a real place though it’s not.
