The ENTIRE Theb ban situation explained....

Hey guys, I know my take may be an unpopular one, but without rules in place a game is doomed to fail. Although I feel Theb should be unbanned, I do feel that part of the ban was warranted at one point and time. As always, let me know what you think about it in the comments below. Rare is actually insane. The sheer amount of personal pettiness over a single Aussie dude is ridiculous. The fact that they ban anyone who even mentions his name in their Discord/Forums, as if he's fucking Voldemort, is both sad and hilarious. Remember, Rare also has the habit of infiltrating other people's Discords and blanket banning people for absolutely no legitimate reason. This kind of behavior for a gaming company is really bizarre.

Theb has self admitted to -Stream sniping -Advertising cheat clients for another Microsoft IP -Altering game files to get 120 FoV -Leaking Insiders information -Ban evasion

Another reason why he was banned was around a year ago on twitter he broke the insider nda by posting things from insider on it.

Appealing bans is pretty much impossible for sea of thieves, I 'technically' ban evaded because I played on my alt when my main was temp banned (for toxicity, most likely spawncamping in arena when I was grinding TSD and all the titles). Rare notifies you of when you're banned through email, and an in game error message, and I don't have access to the email for my main acc because it's my mom's old email from when my xbox account was made in 2011. But then I also never logged into my main account that day because I wanted to play on my alt as I had recently finished the TSD grind and wanted to do it again. It took a year of coaxing RareCSM's into telling me what I did exactly to be banned because Rare will either just delete the support ticket without responding, or give you a canned response. I didn't even want to appeal my ban after the first week of trying to get a response I just wanted to know what I did wrong Also, your point about evading a ban you think was BS is kinda funny cause I ended up evading my ban that I felt was total BS (at the time I didn't even know how I could have been banned for ban evading because I thought I had never been banned before seeing the redbeard message)

Theres also the argument that hes an exploiter himself I used to watch him, and in a lot of cases he'd use a glitch with the ship's geometry to launch himself across the sea and make it to an enemy's ship to attack and distract them while his buddy sailed towards them with their ship It was a rather common thing for him to do, too, it wasnt a rare occurence

I’ve met this dude in game before, he lags so bad you can’t even aim at him and then you just watch from his point of view and he’s just calmly quick flicking while his player model is more sporadic than my nightmares

they did banned a lot of people for being in sot pvp discord servers back in the day, there were two massive ban waves of pvp enjoyers in general, just because streamers cried a lot because people were better than them, and for using a certain inappropriate phrase as a joke but the punishment was very harsh they didnt deserve the permaban

Tbh I feel like its for the best. Theb has had this unhealthy obsession with playing Sea of Thieves for the past 4 years despite the fact that he can no longer keep one account for long and now it's done more damage than good. There are other games out there that many would consider to be better than SoT, why not stream those? I do agree that rare should not have taken down his second YT channel since he never posted any SoT content in that one.

finding exploits and showing them to your people is fine, but he would also cheat, not fake cheat, he uesed fov 120, everyone els is stuck at 90. stream snipping is a bit fopar but idk about that. but i have sick of the fan boys who are on his side for them meme. rare can keep him, i run into clones of him all the time hahahaha the game is not missing him .
