Honestly, this one isn’t very well coordinated. The plot itself is actually pretty straightforward. There’s just lots and LOTS of lore that can sometimes be forgotten about. Seriously though, it’s not hard! The vast majority of questions were answered in full. Unfortunately, there are still some unresolved plot holes. But even they can be filled in somewhat accurately.

Super late to this comment, but it's not worth reading if you're an advanced reader. Most of the "heavy lifting" is dialogue among teenagers, so there's really nothing too complex or intellectually stimulating at face value. However, it's got an awesome, albeit confusing plot. Maybe not the most literarily esteemed plot, but definitely a rewarding feeling to see pieces connect. Thing is, each time a plot point connects, two new loose ends open up, or at least that's how it feels for most of the series. And to the author's credit, I've never seen a writer take on so many voices so diversely and effectively. The story features multiple narrators and dozens of characters, each with their own distinct voice, like really, really distinct. (DiFfErEnT TYP1NG STYL3S can m8ke it ,,, eASIER,,, wITH wHAT Traditional Novelism Doesn't Allow, but still.) Anyway, it's been 9 months. have you started reading Homestuck yet?

@@edwardsinger7644 woah! ty a lot for taking your time in explaining this, and dw, nothing wrong with a late comment at all, and this is probably gonna be very disappointing to hear, but sadly nope, I've decided I'm not planning to read it anymore, I'm actually not very good with long stories and such as I get easily unmotivated or distracted, I somehow just can't seem to get myself to stay focused on a long story, I feel like I just don't like the feeling of wasting my time reading/watching some fictional comic/show when I could be doing much more productive stuff like improving my drawing skills or doing unfinished school work (however, this doesn't apply when I'm actually very interested in the plot of the show which I'd say I think doesn't happen that much), and I've heard that Homestuck is confusing and sadly, I'm not really fond of "confusing" comics/shows, this video, however, did a really decent job at giving a summary about it, I actually understood well when I watched it, additionally, I don't actually rlly like reading, I was just interested in it since it looked interesting to me when I first found out abt it (which is through ppl telling not to read it...) and so that's what made me kind of curious about it, so then I ofc landed here, anyway, I hope you have a nice day and thanks for sharing your opinion!

I can totally relate to your comment! I was sorta engrossed in the fandom give or take 2012/13 ish, when it was reaching it peak (I heavily relied on comicdubs/fanart since didn't understand what was going on, but liked the characters). But now that I'm much older, I feel like this video helps me have a better understanding of what is going on in terms of plot! Plus, it is nice to see people be interested in Homestuck in 2020/21 ;D

Everything was summarized shockingly well for a five minute summary, and a lot of the details that were cut make sense (the insanely long list of WHY Vriska is hated, ancestor trolls, betty crocker, the many on and off relationships, PM and the ring, god tier, the bec and godcat lore, author self-inserts, etc). My only criticism of this 5 minute summary is that Calliope (required to win the final version of the game through her magic) and Caliborn (mini psychopath who becomes the big bad guy) are competely excluded. I feel that cutting out an entire player species, especially one so pivital to the final ending, is leaving out a little too much. Then again, not much can be said about them in 2 seconds (6 if some of the word repetition is cut), probably just "this girl's parasitic twin kills her to become evil god" with the caliope death scene followed by caliborn facing the denizen or a lord english transformation scene as the background graphic. Overall a phenomenal summary of the absurdly long journey that is homestuck.
