Sometimes the handles of tools like the eggbeater drill (the one with the spoked wheel) will be hollow and the end unscrews so you can store some drill bits inside.

Very nice video Brian. Auctions are so interesting. I've seen guys get competitive and pay way more than a tool was worth. Great entertainment that is. Other times a tool in excellent condition can be had for next to nothing. Your lots were exceptional for the price paid!

The auger bits with the knotch in the tapered shank are very nice! The knotch works with a quick connect/release chuck which has a spring loaded catch to engage the knotch when the shank is inserted. Then there is a release you push or squeeze to disengage the catch and the bit will drop out. 😊😊

@brithesaw It will probably work as the square taper shanks fit most of the old brace drills, but it is not the quick connect version. I think I showed one in one of my old videos. If I can find it, I'll send you a link.

Wow - beautiful tools!! All of the wood components are in such wonderful condition! These tools would, without a doubt, cost a premium here in America. ( I have a full cup of coffee while watching ). Cool little boxes to store bits in and that tool role was a great find!

In order for someone to be pleased to find one of our modern tools one hundred years from now, the tool would have to exist! So much of what is made today is disposable, no one keeps it very long. It is not valuable enough to put your name on it, and if you do, it never lasts long enough to be used by more than one person!

You're welcome, Brian @brithesaw . That's a fantastic deal! The Millers Falls is a great plane and in my opinion, 2nd only to Stanley, during their hay day. I have 2 M.F., No.4 size, one wartime production and the other a type 1. Have a few others that are branded Craftsman and Dunlap that were made by M.F. that are decent as well 🤠
