It would be nice to just do some quality of life upgrades to these hacks (like especially a fast retry system). I don't know anything about lunar magic but that full death sequence every time would drive me nuts.

eh. slow retry aint so bad. if you're on emulator you can always make a save state. more modern hacks are guilty of far more tedium than lacking fast retry

Just as someone who plays kaizo hacks, not being able to immediately reenter the stage would bother me. Y'all are absolutely the experts though. I'm a self admitted garbage kaizo player.

Barb is a Miyazaki-grade level designer in the Mario community. Yes, there is a ton of asshole moves, bullshit, and when you are in the struggle it sucks. Not because the level or game is bad, but because it is difficult. Barb might go "I'm not that good" and "that's a bit too high of a bar for this asshole and there are better designers." Yeah, probably? But Barb, you're the one-man show here. GBPWorld 1&2 yes, had help, but what would you say is the mix of that? 80%/20%? No hate to others but if the Jump Team gave you a few levels to do for them, I bet you'd end up in the "Oh Shit. No Prisoners" zones for the 100% :p

Botw really did kinda piss me off with the lack of real dungeons, but it's probably that it's so open ended that the idea of one dungeon's item being required for the next one probably wouldn't work. Still absolutely love the game though
