This is both the happiest and the saddest Clana episode ever aired! Such a rollercoaster of emotions in just one episode - from an almost idilic lovers fairy tale to an unseen bloody tragical / brutal outcome. It rips me apart every time I watch the way Clark have to hide his true self *again* from her knowing by not doing so would make her life end tragically. And as it is not enough, fate was forced to change who's gonna take from him and THAT was thousand times more brutal both for Clark and all of us.

I mean Jor-El did warn Clark that someone he loves and cares about will die..a life for a life. He chose to go back and save Lana, so someone else has to die. This was a HUGE LESSON for Clark and he learns from it, but it’s still so painful af! I mean geez having to choose between the woman you love or your dad (of course Clark wouldn’t know who was fated to die.) there were theories that Lois was supposed to die, but she got saved twice. The first time, Lana saved her from falling down and the second time Clark saved her before she was electrocuted, cuz she did fall down. In both times, Lois would have gotten severely hurt or died. But yeah...that’s rough this episode was ROUGH. But like I said Clark was warned and he made the decision. This kind of decisions will happen as always in the upcoming seasons, so get ready for more tears.😭

@SaGeForReal5 жыл бұрын
LostGamer12 This episode and death is one of Clark’s turning point. He has made such impulsive decisions without really knowing the consequences even though Jor-El has warned him about things like this. He lost Alicia because of his trust issues and not believing that she can change. He lost Jonathan because he chose to go back in time to save Lana even knowing someone else has to die. That’s two very heartbreaking things that has happened in the past 2 years for Clark. This will only push him to really think about his decisions and etc as well as people he surrounds himself with at this point in his life. 👍

People talking about Lana, you can't compare the situations with Chloe and Lois learning the secret. Did anyone else watch seasons 2 or 3? Phoenix 3x02 the goons were going to kill Lana and the Kents at the Kent farm, in 3x03 Van tells her Clark has secret powers and kidnaps her, Tina told her Clark has secret powers in Visage 2x11, and then Adam's diary was filled with things about Clark and her 3x14. Then Alicia was saying Clark had a secret before trying to kill her in Obsession. Of course she's going to be suspicious when people are trying to kill her multiple times over this. Chloe had no reason to ask Clark, because she knew. And Lois thought and repeatedly said that Clark was just some farm boy, and no reason to be suspicious for a long time. What should've happened is that he just told her outright to end the frustration instead of worrying about not being accepted.

Now that you have made it here I can finally go into how I felt about this...this was the episode that made me hate Lex and lana and honestly I would have preferred the first timeline yes I still cried but at least everything was better, lighter, and it was just meant to happen because it was said A LIFE FOR A LIFE so that could have been Martha lois Chloe (Jonathan) so I feel like he shouldn't have saved her ESPECIALLY when I seen how lana was in the second timeline like I just did not enjoy her character much after this episode and even more so for Lex because it was caused by lex’s reckless attitude and obsession not only for Clark but lana as well that all of this happened. Cuz first timeline everyones happy (but Lex) lois saved by lana, proposal, truths out, lana dies. Second timeline everyones heartbroken, lois almost dies, Jonathan and lionel get into it, Jonathan dies. Dont get me wrong i was still very sad when lana died but just seeing how everything played out its just like dammit clark listen to jorel but then its also like i understand because he loves lana so he couldnt watch her die and then what upset me even more was how lana treated him in the second timeline and i was just like you know what fuck it let her die then like u seen at the end how she just left clark after his dad died and my heart literally broke for clark i was just like this is just great per usual clark helps everyone else but still gets treated like shit, and basically feels like hes alone forever. I was like id rather have lana go out as this amazing character then have her stay alive (in turn killing jonathan) and having her being pretty fucking annoying and like i said this was probably the episode i stopped liking her they bring her back to a good place in about a season but for me atleast i did not like her anytime soon. ohhh dev just you wait cuz after this episode lex and lana are just absolute shitt for a pretty good while.

When I watched this episode for he first time I liked that Clark for once was willing to be honest, though I have always thought that it was his secret to keep and Lana had no right to demand to know, she should had respect his right and not pressure him, anyway the proposal was beautiful and out of this world, and Jonathan wining the elections, everyone was so happy...... but later obviously I hated this episode so much. Why why why they had to kill Jonathan!!! Such important person in Clark’s life! In most of the comics and other versions, Jonathan is with him longer after he becomes superman, but Smallville shitted on that. I would had prefer so much clark weren’t turn back time and Lana stayed death. I think this episode and the other coming seasons made me hate her. she really didnt bother me much until this episode was aired, she just annoyed me for the secret stuff mostly and because she always talks like whispering, is so annoying!
