The director really messed up this scene starting @4:20. They clearly show a solitary man with his back to McCall, reading a paper and even closer in earshot to McCall than the agent. The way they set that up immediately had me mislead to paying attention to that man in case he was eavesdropping but he's only an extra. #1 - don't frame the shot that way and #2, 3, 4, . . . no one with real experience is going to start an open air chat at a café at that distance with anyone in any language. This doesn't come from watching movies.
