About: THE EREV RAV: Understanding the Mixed Multitude:
When the Israelites were liberated from their servitude in Egypt, the Torah tells us that a mixed multitude of people went out with them. Who these people were is not exactly clear. This is the only explicit reference to them in the Torah, but our commentaries find their footprints in many episodes. In later Torah literature, there are references to a mixed multitude who will be a constant thorn in the side of the Jewish people up until the Messianic age. This lecture will seek to get to the bottom about who these people are.

The "Refa'im" element is highly reminiscent of the "as a Jew" people of today. The ones who are only Jewish by a nickname, but not thought, speech, and action. But as the Rabbi says in the end of the lecture, that even all of them will be redeemed. We need to help them see the light.

The "blueprint" of the Erev Rav was not just in Egypt. The souls of the Hivites from Shekhem converted to Judaism by Shimon and Levi before killing them needed a "tikkun". Those are many of the root souls of the Erev Rav.

The purpose of Israelites not mixing with other races in the beginning was to protect the seed from then until the Messiah coming. But God wants every one to come to his side,not by force or miracles but it should be by choice. Blaming the mixed multitudes is not the right way to go because the one who led the rebellion was Korah a Levite and first cousin of Moses. Moreover zipporah was in median but had African origin of Ethiopia and was a non Israelite but believed in the God of Israel the bible says so.zipporahs father was a priest too.

You mean the elites that control both the ruling party and the opposition? I do know of one political leader who came to power driven by hatred towards such elites, but its bitter. Because if Erev Rav or the Amalek does rule the world, they have been ruling it long enough to turn this hatred against the Jews.
