Eric Alexander has a great sound , as well as big chops, unlike Chris Potter, big chops , not so great of a tone on tenor, but he's good all over the ax.

Eric Alexander has Great sound and so does Chris potter, they are just different . STITT/ Ammons Dexter/Gray Rollins/train Griffin/lockjaw STITT/ Rollins Some are pleasing and lyrical and some are strong and emotional I love the sweetness and subtleness of STITT , but I love the soulfulness and robustness of Ammons . “Out in the cold again “is a great example of what I’m saying My dad raised me on jazz and singers and the voice is special Sarah Vaughan had an Operatic voice- range and control Carman McRae had a fantastic voice but her phrasing was her diamond.there are so many different musical paths out hear and just as many paths of hearing.
