We not only got Ernest Jones but another young lb off waivers that played in Baltimore named Josh Ross. Add in Robertson from jags last week at dl, Coby Bryant looking good at that safety spot and we are laying down a great foundation. Not to mention Jerrell looked like a rt that can hold his own and Lucas and Fant both returned to practice today. If we get our offensive line healthy we could definitely make playoffs, take the division and maybe get a post season win or two. I don't see us being a super bowl contender this year but I think we are building a solid foundation for the seasons to come

I love the plays where the back tries to bend it back and Ernest sees it and comes downhill to kill the play. I like this gamble by the Hawks hope it works out. Been since KJ Wright since we had a backer this agressive!

The Titans acquired Jones in August in a trade with the Los Angeles Rams for a 2026 pick swap (fifth round for a sixth round). Flipping him two months later for a fourth-rounder and another player is pretty good work by GM Ran Carthon

His gap discipline is next level. This looks to be a great upgrade and can improve run d day one. Def be worth the 4th rounder and shd benefit with our interior line.

That's what I was missing with Baker (and even still to an extent Dodson) - there was a LOT of missed gaps. Guys just blowing through gaps. Yes if your linebackers are being blocked that's on the DL, but if they're not your linebackers don't understand the gap assignment. Yah they can still get tackles but after that gave up 10 yards. Reminded me a TON of Cody Barton who also to this day doesn't understand how to play the gaps. That's exactly why Mac drafted Knight btw... he was VERY good at College in understanding gaps (just a lot of other stuff in his game that isn't quite there).

Macdonald says often i could feel a certain player in the game. I never felt Baker. He was apart od 12 tackles one game, but he didn't stand out. Well done Mike and John. I can "feel" your in it to win it. To under the radar trades that are going to help us. Teams need star players. Just as importantly are your back ups good enough to start for 16 other teams ? If you have 5 of them on either side of the ball your going places. Knight is going to be a good player and i can see him making that year two jump like Mafe did and Hall is doing this year. The one player i would like to see get targeted a little more down field is of course JSN. I would like to see that happen with DK in the line up. Use Shenault for the short dumps at the line of scrimage. He is a beast and can break tackles at a much greater rate. JSN got three of those passes for 12 yards. More importantly he got hit hard and for what. I know its hard to feed everyone, but once every 3 games get him 10 to 12 targets. It will be zone or singal coverage and he can pick that apart. As frustrating as DK can be i really like him. If he doesn't have to miss a game he will go for 1400 yards and 10 Tds. Even if he is only 75% and can't hurt his knee worse play him as the other team can't take the chance not to have a corner on him and a safety shaded to his side opening holes for the five to seven other good ball catchers including TEs. It will really tick if the Oline can get K9 the ball without always having to beat a guy 3 yards into the backfield. Both of his TDs touchdowns were great. The running touchdown will mean the Bills are going to spend much time on how to defend him. In closing great trade Baker did not fit coach Macdonalds scheme !😊

This was a monster trade an A+ for this trade. The Seahawks just got a freak athlete on defense. Also a man who is familiar with the NFC West who play with the Rams for a couple years. In the first clip from the packers game he is reading the weak side gaurd not the backfield. He's smart enough to not run past the block of the weakside gaurd which would have put him and the Nose in the same gap. The inability of Baker and Dotson do what Ernest did on this play has killed the Hawks defense this year. Period

This is not an upgrade. This is a wash. Jerome Baker is a very good LB. E. Jones is also very good. Maybe some injury information that we do not see as the Hawk doctors have been working on JB. As far as quality...no improvement. Both are 80-85 rated, imo. Baker has a sweet highlight reel too. E.Jones lighting up that C was awesome.

Comparing overall scores between these two players will leave you disappointed. If you compare their run defense scores though Ernest is head and shoulders above Jerome and we need that WAYYY more right now.

I guarantee they’ve been calling around to see what’s available. Probably no one willing to give up lineman in a reasonable trade. That being said even with the bad oline our offense hasn’t been the issue most these games. Our main problem has been the defense so this is definitely a good trade.

We got a top MLB for a 4th round pick, good luck finding a top RG or any other o-lineman for that. Plus we just drafted Haynes and Lucas+Fant are set to return. Not saying we are in great shape at O-line but it does have the potential to improve and Geno has been able to work with it. Run defense has been atrocious, this should instantly improve it. I get the frustration tho, Im sick of having a patchwork line too.
