I think my head would melt if I tried 😆. Def not easy to sing and bass at the same time, but that's one of the reasons Squire was a Legend 😎. Thank you!

Love that one. Actions a little TOO low right now, but I'll adjust it eventually. I don't have the lightest touch so it gets a little TOO raspy sometimes. Thanks for the comment!

Nice playing and really enjoyable tone, fat, punchy and very nasal with controled mids, did you recorded it direct from the interface or used some plugins?
@woot14044 жыл бұрын
Marcelo Coip Thank you very much for the kind words! I just recorded from the interface, but I had an EQ pedal in front of it to help beef up the bottom and tame the highs a little. No plugins used. Thank you, again!
@marcelocoip72754 жыл бұрын
Thanks Woot! Can you describe me that eq please? (And what pedal it is?)
@woot14044 жыл бұрын
Marcelo Coip Quite honestly, I don’t remember the exact settings on the DI pedal, but I imagine the bass and mids are at noon, highs at around 10 o clock. The pedal is an Ampeg SCR-DI. Tone and both pickups maxed on the jazz bass. Again, I’m not totally sure of how things were setup anymore, but that sounds about right. I get questions about recordings somewhat often, so I’ll start taking note of my setup/settings for my vids, and put em in the description. Again, thanks!

Awesome Woot. Clean and punchy with the Black Beauties. Masterful playing of a truly fantastic song. It's still on my playlist after all these years. I came here looking for a good bass cover/lesson because my version sounds awful. This will definitely help. Do you do anything from Melbourne band The Living End? Their song Prisoner of Society is kind of the same genre (bit more punk) but good bass runs.

Thank you! I know the vid isn't a tutorial and has no tabs, but I do hope the visual is helpful. At least a bit. Never heard of Melbourne Band, but I now plan to look up "Prisoner of Society" to check them out. Thanks much for the suggestion, and thanks again for all your kind words.

Great bass! I'm getting the same model in buttercream, probably gonna put a pearloid pickguard on mine. Looks great with the matte black!
@woot14044 жыл бұрын
You won't be disappointed. It's a really nice bass, and it's hard to beat the price for what you're getting with the Player Series. I've seen 1 or 2 with pearloid PG's on them, and they look great. I just decided to go with something simple. Eventually, I want to swap everything out for black (tuners, bridge, control plate, etc), mainly for aesthetics, but also for some minor upgraded hardware. Another reason I went with the matte black PG. Either way, it's a solid bass. I need to finish setting mine up (action is a bit TOO low for my fairly heavy right-hand technique), but I'm very happy with it so far. Thanks much for the comment!

Boy I bet you're extremely excited about Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2 being remade, eh?

Ha, I JUST found out about that yesterday. And I definitely am excited to hear about that. I heard the soundtrack didn't change too much either. Played those games for hours and I'm looking forward to seeing the updates.
