When this song came out I had a teacher in high school that was never in class, we used blast this song/video on a giant 70" projection TV until teachers from 5 rooms down made us turn it down. I didn't learn much there but we had some good times.

Yes was clearly a band ahead of their time. This can be seen specially in Alan White's drum sound. In 1973 (Topographic, Wakeman's Six Wives and 1974 Relayer) he made drums sound as many english and american bands would do in the nineties.

Yo! I actually had no distortion on, here. I opened the tone and volume all the way , increased the recording volume on the bass, and used a pretty aggressive pick attack to get the grit. Nothing but a compressor pedal hooked up. I admittedly have limited knowledge on how compressors really manipulate tone, so I assume the aggressive pick attack WITH the compression helped me get that sound, but that's the only "effect" used here 👌🏾. Hope that helped, and thank you!

Gotta give most of credit to the strings, here. I had some Labella 1954 flats on this one, and they really did sound nice on a Pbass. Quite a bit of tension, but worth it for the sound 👌🏾
