The Escapists - How to escape Shankton State Penn prison 3 Xbox One PS4

The Escapists is amazing fun but can leave you wondering what to do. Join me as I show you how I escaped the third prison, Shankton State Penn. Freedom! This guide is for Xbox One but I believe it's still relevant for PC version too and as far as I'm aware it's the same for PS4. Apologies for the audio distortion at the beginning of some of my videos, seems to be teething issues with Upload 2.0

I actually thought about this method, but then the yellow flashlight on the roof was on the climbing ladder so i got shot as soon as i went up the ladder. What are the chances of that?

There's a slightly easier way. If you mold a yellow and red key, you can leave the cell (using the yellow key) and the prison using the doors to the east of your cell (two red doors). Follow the path all the way south and pass through another red door, then go west to the same spot to dig. You only need the bed dummy; red and yellow keys and shovel (you won't need to cut through any fences). I also wore a uniform. Not sure if that makes any difference. You won;t really come across any guards this way, although there's one who approaches one of the fences you walk past, but he doesn't get too close. I tried the method in the video, and you have to get the timings more or less perfectly. I kept getting spotted shortly after I came down the roof.

bleedingpepper you don't need a cell key. Once you have everything prepared in the cell and you have it all on you, just stand in the doorway to stop the door locking and then get going the moment it becomes lights out.

There's an easier way. You can just get 2 strudy shovels and 2 timber brace and prison oufit (optional) and dig in the solitary room and dig underground by the wall and keep digging right and there's a certain point where you can dig up and automatically win, and there is always no boulders when you're digging. And it only takes 3 days or less. Btw I did it on the first day.

I got the kitchen job, walked out of that green door to the left went through my poster to the generator room and went through my other poster out of the other side, and dug under the walls!

I crafted a plated inmate outfit out of a prisoner outfit, a roll of duct tape and a sheet of metal. I wore that and beat up every guard in sight with a whip ( timber, wire and a razor) and walked out the front door. It isn't a quick strategy as you need to level up all stats to 80 first, but it works effectively.

This might be a glitch as I got the prison takeover after beating up at least 7. If you feel that you have beaten up every guard I the Prison and you cannot walk out of the gates, reload your save and try again until it happens.

Nice plan! I got out with the cyan key going in the hallway behind your cell and going onto the roof using a bed rope to get down and digging under the wall. 11 days.

Another way of doing this to to bring the same items (including the guard outfit) but instead of two chocolates bring a lightweight shovel as well you also need a Timber Brace go to the same spot and dig your shovel may break and that's why you bring the Lightweight Shovel I did this and escaped at 7:57 so it was a really close call

This prison is tricky, can't do it this way anymore as they've patched in wood braces if you try and dig more than 2 tiles the 3rd will require a brace .

I did this and failed, my stupidity. I had everything but when I dug under I ran into a rock, and then attempted to dig around it with an extra trowel. I needed a support brace which I didn't have. I ended up getting caught at 8:00am during roll call. :(

I found it easier to 1. break wall behind cell 2. put a fake wall 3. get a cyan key 4. open door to roof 5. use rope to get down 6. dig under wall it worked easy and only took a few days

You can still tunnel out by getting a red plastic key and a gaurds uniform, and taking the right double red door inbetween the wall and fence

it doesn’t need to be exact you can break the back wall and put a fake wall block NOT A Poster because guards can tear them down make molten choc save it and kill a guard with it if they don’t have a cyan key write it down don’t bother about role call if they have it write their name down and circle it put the weak cyan key next to the door in the area up the ladder. also you can get the man on the run achievement molten choc guards until lockdown the hide in the library’s locker when it’s under 80 attend stuff only kill angry inmates if there are no guards nearby if there are you can hide in locker or the visiting room, lockers or let them hit you in view of the guards and hope they kill him and not you... also you might be able to hide in the locker in the library missing role call

Everything the guards see me at night they instantly put me in solitary, even with the guard outfit and 0 heat and a bed dummy

Easiet way to get speed up is to turn you control with the buttons facing away from you and press the triggers

Virtual Bass if the guards don't like you they're more inclined to check your cell at night. Check their names aren't red, if they are give them stuff until they're neutral or like you

Just remember when I did these escapes there were no guides, that’s why it took so long. Most people do these far quicker than I did as all the different escapes have been found

Hey, I'm not sure why, but on night 1, I cut the vent above my cell, put a fake vent cover and when I went up to see what there was the prison went on lockdown a minute later. Do you know why that is?

If your guard reputation is low it doesn't matter if you have bed sheets up or a bed dummy, guards will find you, don't fight the guards or get caught stealing too much

Yes, you need your guard level as low as possible, if they don't like you they will spot you every time you step outside

It's very tricky but is all about rhythm, alternate left and right triggers, count to yourself as you do it. I used to count to 10 quite fast. You don't need to do it as fast as possible. Just try different speeds at rhythm and eventually you'll get it

Unfortunately bud the guards patterns are slightly randomised, if you're not in their bad books then it's just wether or not they stumble across the hole. If they do reload that checkpoint, patience is needed, took me MANY attempts!

Don't get close to other guards. Uniform just stops the snipers shooting you. Also, if you have bad rep they will still catch you. Keep trying, you can do it!
