Bought this e.s.r car mount and love it. It holds my samsung galaxy z fold without any issues. Good video. 👍🏼

problem is usually the car's original C port wont supply more than 15 or 18w. I believe to get 15w of wireless charging, you will need at least 20w of input power.

Yes, the amount of power needed should be much higher. Luckly, these are readily available for purchase now. My car didn't come with a USB-C port anyway (2022 Palisade).

now that you've used this for a couple months, whats your take on it? I've never had any luck with these plastic type of ball head/tightners, they always seem to quickly lose their ability to tighten and subsequently deal with a lot of slack/unpleasantness. love to hear how it's doing, esp being magsafe, these mounts see a lot of torque on a daily basis inherently by the way we put them on/take them off. honestly wish I could find a nice all-metal version of one of these, gladly pay $50+ for a good one that works long-term, versus being frustrated with this plastic-y thing after couple months.

so you're saying the 3m mount is not a good idea in higher temp areas? just don't love the idea of covering my AC vent living in FL, we rely on every single vent lol

If you are doing the 3M mount somewhere else on the dash - pay a little bit more and get the Cryoboost version of this charger (features active cooling to drop temperatures associated with wireless charging.) Your phone/battery will thank you.

Hi, I After 5 months, what are your thoughts about this charger? I'm seeking for a magsafe (dash mount) car charger for my pixel 9 pro xl and after eating your video I'm thinking to get this one. But I'd like to know what about: Magnet strength (passing by bumps) Charge speed Heat while charging Product quality I might buy the cryo boost version. Thanks for you reply
@MikeMu4 ай бұрын
It still works great! I drive a Hyundai Palisade and there have been no issues with an iPhone Pro Max 15 on bumps - but I do avoid potholes whenever possible; and my car drives fairly smoothly by itself. This will not hold doing off-roading. Make sure you use a Magsafe case. Charge speed is just enough to keep my phone going with GPS, and add a few percentage points in 30 minutes of driving. I use GPS on my phone so that eats up power pretty fast so imagine getting maybe 7-10 watts net positive to your phone. If I know I need to charge up faster while in the car, I still plug in and use this as a mount. I keep both options free when I drive. I don't worry about heat when charging because it's right in front of a vent. Product quality is still good - no issues. Looks like new still, and functions like new.

My guess is $10-20 more than this one. Supposedly out by 2nd quarter this year - earlier in China.

Should i get this or the 15 w cryoboost version?

Cryoboost if not on vent. Vent mount, you are going to have fan / AC on anyway.
