My worst habit with my favorite little guy is trying to play like I'm in the late game and have 200+ stacks of Phenom Power the second minions start flowing, just gotta learn to play super docile and hyper farm until like a complete first item or two and some boots at least.

Veigar top can be surprinsingly good, toplane matchups are way easier than midlane (less mobile champs with bad waveclear), so it s way easier to farm and scale. Everfrost+rabadon and void and then 2 tank items do the trick pretty well since you can engage for your team.

Great. The defensive options i usually use are anathemas+seraphs, but i guess you can get creative with these (randuins vs crit, abyssal/banshees vs magic dmg, zhonyas etc).

I just started using the first strike runes on veig recently and i replace the magical footwear with the tonics, the extra skillpoint and 40 gold are goated for earlier e and q maxing. I'm not amazing so the not being able to buy boots til 12 mins makes me insane lmao

heyo im new to the game, if i last hit a minion with his Q will i still be granted the ap increase or is the only with monsters and champs

Good question. It's both. You will gain AP by last hitting minions with Q. You'll get 1 for each standard caster or melee minion, and 3 for each cannon minion. This is due to the passive from Q (as opposed to Veigar's innate passive, which gives AP for hitting champions with abilities, or scoring champion takedowns).

Bro that tierlist is really bad imo. Zed is easiest matchup vs veigar and galio is hardest. Because you can insta stun zed while he is ulting you. Also you cant do any shit against galio flash w combo. Also another hardest matchup is probably malphite which is not even in the list.
