After coming back from our vacation in Hawaii, we wanted to take a walk somewhere. Ultimately, we went to the Orange Reservoir, and of course, filming the Turtle Back Zoo Train is a must! As you can see, foliage has started to grow on the tracks.
In the past, it was only the blue train that was ADA-accessible, being able to provide room for two wheelchairs. When the red train operated, any disabled person had to either wait for the next train or transfer from their wheelchairs, making it really hard for them. Since at least 2017, however, that has all changed; both trains are finally ADA-compliant with the red train receiving a brand new car with space for one wheelchair. However, the blue train still has a bigger advantage as it can hold two wheelchairs, although the red train now has an advantage for holding more people.
Because today was a busy weekend, two trains were running, and I happened to run into the blue train last. So here it is, as led by C. P. Huntington No. 306, the 1999 Blue Comet, turning around at Turnaround Hill and heading back to the zoo. Enjoy! Also, see if you can spot the kid dabbing in this video.
