What kind of a man leaves his sister and her children in abject poverty, depriving his sister of what’s rightfully hers, when he is so rich? It’s pure greed and evil.

Women aren't any better. My grandmother hid her sister from her daughter and 2 generations later we learned about it. We have a family cousins uncles nephews that we never knew about simply because one woman didn't approve of her sister's husband ! We were contacted a few years ago to know if we were interested in artifacts that a Museum no longer wanted to pay to keep in storage ????? We learnt about art that belonged to our family but had been kept from us.

I agree, but surely the Trust Co (now Bank) should be penalised for not fulfilling their fiduciary role in maintaining records, and acting accordingly, when they took over part of the Estate. It's blatant fraud from both George and his beneficiaries.

#1 There are grounds to challenge the "6 yr Law" and set precedence for an exception. This requires an innovative and confident Attorney, who can see the reason for this action. #2 Bankers and Financiers: the peak point of the World's Power, Dictators, and Control. Understanding this, the Rothschilds and Reality provides the ability to understand the "playing field". They assume they are impenetrable, but that's not the case. Again, that same Attorney's abilities are the means to return balance and ethics for Justice. Never assume, always know they have the Power to remove their threats and competition, but above all, comprehend that the "Universal Law of Attraction" is Absolute. The Creator gives each of us the 🔑 to our Desires ... That Law is of the Divine Design and is more powerful than an army. i support this family's quest for justice. George was so callous and greedy - what was the point of defrauding his own family only to run the company to the ground and subsequently give his estate away to acquaintances? He had no biological or adopted heirs - he could have at least attempted to right his wrong by leaving his estate to his sister and her children.

Interesting Canada Trust could not recover any documents that had to with Norma's share in the estate , but were able to find two documents with her signature. It would have been easy to match the signatures to other documents Norma would have signed during those years . The rules are set-up in favor of the wealthy banks . Hopefully on appeal the family will get their mother's inheritance.

It breaks my heart that the justice system has so far denied fairness to this family. Shame on the judge for not expecting the trust managers to notify their mother before the records were destroyed. Something needs to be done. For the judge to say, her mothers part was no more than $500,000 is not even logical who took those assets from the managed trust but the bank in fees. It sounds even criminal to me. I pray for justice still.

The behaviour of the Bank and the Judge is disgusting. I am really sorry for Norma's children for all the work and disappointment. Judges believe banks more than normal people. I have made similar experience with Scotia Bank in Canada when I asked for my house appraisal to fight an ex-partner all of a sudden it disappread. How is that possible at a bank in 2014?

Something similar happened on my mom’s side of the family only it was how my great-grandfather wrote his will. My great-grandfather owned a very successful paving business in California. My maternal grandmother was his oldest child. When my grandmother was in her late teens, my great-grandfather remarried and had a son and another daughter. When he died in the mid 60s, he left the business to his son and said my grandmother was to receive $250 a month for the rest of her life. Well, in the mid 60s, $250 was a decent amount of money but, as time went on, it obviously was worth less and less. If my grandmother had received a portion of the business, she wouldn’t have had to work so hard and so long (she was widowed twice by the late 1950s and never remarried).

It began when Norma married her husband out of love, unfortunately he had other motives as well, financial motives. She sacrificed her inheritance wealth for love, but the decision came back to haunt her. Explanation from these children clearly point out towards that direction, he married her so he could have easy life. Norma was a two times victim out of this whole saga, I feel sorry for her.

My great Uncle was the same way. His father's will divided the estate, even giving my grandfather a meadow that sat between the two farms. My grandfather got nothing, and neither did any of my great Uncles and Aunts. Only the one got it all. No one fought it, they just left the state. When my great Uncle sold the estate, he sold the meadow my grandfather was supposed to get out from under him. He sold 475 acres, plus three livable homes for $53,000 at auction and never told any other family members about it so they couldn't lay claim to the property. This was in the 1970's. I hope he is sitting somewhere real warm right now.

Such a sad story... My wife's father built up a legacy of millions and his wife and son destroyed it through squandering on a 15 yr shopping spree which including selling 2 houses in the USA for which no money to date has been received. I come from a family of battlers yet understand what a legacy is all about it gives future generations the freedom to study or travel but not to waste a humans beings life-time of hard work. My wife's boys will fortunately inherit what her late husband has worked and died for. Money destroys or creates depending on the level of character within human beings.

Well, I hate to say it, but the courts do need a “cut off date” for lawsuit’s. It’s too bad she’d kept these secrets from her adult kids, they MAY have been able to do something earlier when George was still alive. AND it could have been their mother pride or their dad’s pride, that she didn’t ask questions after her father died ~ especially when there was obviously PLENTY of money to go around. My former mother in law had a similar situation happen when her did died in Nova Scotia in the 60’s. Her dad owned a sawmill and a lumber company. When he died, her brother aimed to “get everything” AND did. He used a third siblings disability against her. Basically he told her he’d not look after this sibling and he’d have to go into care, IF she didn’t agree. So, being a somewhat simple minded woman, (about business) who wanted her brother to continue to live in the only home he’d ever lived in, she agreed to her older brother’s terms. Little did she realize, that after she’d signed documents “giving up” her share, he could have still placed the third sibling in care. Luckily, he held firm in his agreement, and looked after this third sibling. Particularly galling is my mum in law had had a child out of wedlock, and because her older brother had no children, her father and brother decided, the day after she’d given birth, that the “best thing” would be for her brother to take the baby and raise it as his own. Then he treated her like this. What a sheister!!

This all happened because of the insatiable greed from most involved, and the incredible stupidity of a woman with wealthy parents who didn't even think of asking if her parents left her anything after dying.

She knew her dad and brother hated her husband. Probably assumed she was disinherited. Plus she was focused on the welfare of her own family. Sounded possible the store fire was also arson.

Totally agree with another commentor. The family lawyer should have told them about statute of limitations. Maybe they did

F-k the Statute of Limitations. Who freaking invented that? I would imagine people who invented this are the greedy and selfish people. I felt so sorry for Norma and her children. They should have not experienced the poverty if her brother George shared her inheritance after all its not all George‘S inheritance anyway. George too was so freaking greedy. I hope Karma is haunting him every minute of the day wherever he is. I can only hope that all Norma’s children will love, care and support for one another. That to me is more than wealth. ❤

I don't understand!!!! If Norma hipol was in such a bad money situation why didn't she claim her father's and mothers' estate???? I would have jumped up as a spring and stepped in at the minute, most for my children. I don't get it !!!!

They hated her husband. If the store burned because of George it could’ve caused fear for the wellbeing of her children.

What "DRIVES" the family? It may be partially driven by principle but in the end, it has nothing to do with legacy or principles it has to do with money. I find it incomprehensible that children of wealthy parents didn't at least contact the family lawyer to see if they were left anything upon their parent's death. Nobody is that naive.
