Yugioh eternal duelist soul is the first yugioh game I ever got and unlock all the characters and got all the cards it took me years though, but it was worth it.

Eternal Duelist Soul: I remember putting in Twin Headed Fire Dragon and trying to summon it without tributing. I'm like what's a tribute? It showed me the ropes and made me play the game as intended and got me out of my playground phase of summoning Gaia the dragon champion from my hand to the field.

My first yugioh game and one of my earliest GBA games. Loved this so much and Ishizu was my favorite boss duel because she always gave me the most trouble but in a good way.

Absolute gem and hallmark of my childhood. This taught me how to play the game of Yugioh and I wish more Yugioh games were like it. Back as a Kid I don't think I ever made it past the duelist kingdom phase but I could be wrong but couple years ago I played it again and got all the way to the end. Such a great game.

Always thought that Graceful Dice and Skull dice should have been the promos for Dungeon Dice Monsters. They really dropped the ball on that one.

While Dark Duel Stories (“Tri-Holygod Advent” in Japan) was the first Yu-Gi-Oh! game I ever saw someone else play, The Eternal Duelist Soul is the first I got to play for myself. It was a school friend’s copy and he let me borrow it for a day. Today, I own my own copy of the game and, despite my Yu-Gi-Oh! craze dying off in the mid-2000s, I still have fun whipping this game out from time to time.

This was the first Yugioh game I owned and played, and I played the hell out of it. I don't have the game anymore, but growing up, it was my favorite game. Pretty sure it's how I learned to play the game originally. I played the Gameboy color one at some point as well, but don't remember much of it.

I legit played expert 5 WAAAAY before it got released in English. The box art, the manga style opening scene and the menu selector is so nostalgic.

I got this game in 2011 off somebody who was selling there game collection and they knew I liked yugioh I literally played it last May I think I beat the national tournament but was fun to go back and play classic yugioh as it was in 2002 the first ever simulation game I got was wc 04 and never played much of it maybe I should lol as a nostalgia trip

Solomon is called "Truesdale" in this as in the Truesdale...? ZANE Truesdale...? Hmm...! This was one of my favorite games as a young teenager. It feels like a perfection of the basic formula, Sacred Cards and Reshef's return to the older style also shows a really interesting future of what could have been for the Alternate Style.

This was my only yugioh game growing up and this was my gameeee!! It was awesome and I loved how it was just the card simulator and no storyline I thought that was really cool because I just wanted to duel! + the soundtrack automatically one of the best solid yugioh games especially if you want to get started on playing yugioh playing old games like this is the perfect way to get started.

Big Shield Gardna was really popular in my school because we couldnt speak english so we basically ignored all brown card effects unless they were explained in the tv show. I'm pretty sure it did appear in the show eventually though. My memory is kinda foggy.

Do you know anything about the demo for duel monsters 5 expert 1? it was given out before the release of the full game to 400 winners of an issue of V-jump. I'd love to pick one up and try it my self but they sell for about $500 online :c

Duel Monsters 5 and The Eternal Duelist Soul actually have enough small diffrences that they are considered seperate entities by some people(And have seperate pages on the wiki, even with a small section of diffrences between them), same thing with DM6 and Stairway to the Destined Duel. What is particularly strange tho is that The Eternal Duelist Soul only ever released in the US. While looking into it with a hexeditor, I found a language-listing containing japanese and some european languages, plus I found that the game already has some textfonts supported, like for example the german-exclusive letters. They probably did want to release this worldwide like they ended up doing with Stairway, but they just...never did any localization work, I guess.

Thank you very much for your perspective because I've actually been looking for somebody to break down these games on youtube. I want to try to collect all the Yugioh games but I want to start with the best ones and I hope you continue with the DS games Because the AI in the gameboy games are shit 😅

@roguerifter9724Ай бұрын
Cards never should be banned in a TCG or CCG. Limited and semi-limited yes, banned no. banning them makes any effort put into obtaining them on the part of the players pointless. Its a pity that at some point after this game came out those in charge of YuGiOh forgot something so simple.
