To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."

Ironically. I don't think it was Obama being Black that caused him to win. It was the failure of Bush, and wanting to shake up Politics (Almost like we did with Trump in 2016) that elected Obama. Sadly him basically being Bush but an African Re-skin, and him basically still being in the DC swamp, just canceled that notion outright. Had Obama actually been the change he wanted to be, we could of had America being a slightly Lib Left country, but still kept that 90s and 2000s Punk Culture. But him and the Democrat party ran on a platform of trying to serve every group, and having Public and private opinions, and it basically lead to the Balkinization of the Democrat party. While they certainly harmed western gaming, they honestly didn't do THAT much damage to it. So it's more than just us having a backup in a woke-free culture. And I think it's because gaming really is fundamentally anti-wokist. It's a pure meritocracy, where nobody gets any bonus points based on their skin color. Which is almost never known anyway. I was a very contemplative kid so I thought through why people did things and got to the root of peoples actions. In doing that I was able to understand what ego and greed was behind my actions so I could properly curate them. I know most people aren’t as weird and methodical as I was or as aware of their actions, but I think it’s possible to instill in children the understanding that there is good and evil. Once in a while they'd get sexually explicit prank calls but the general reaction was to just roll with it briefly before moving onto the next caller. The 2020s version of this would be to read out the nasty superchats in a sultry voice or some other quasi-erotic mannerism. It'd connect a familiar, nostalgic vibe with a newer but also familiar monetization and crowd interaction method. And the screeching woman would get the respect she desperately wants by doing this.

The whole "no zoomer can ever be a real gamer" thing is why I get frustrated with people who just LOOOVE Harry Potter these days. I read the books as they came out and was mercilessly teased and mocked as a 'nerd' because I read the books constantly and had every spell and detail from them memorized. Now suddenly everyone in my generation loves Harry Potter? Everyone my age talks about what Hogwarts house they're in cuz they love it so much? Cuz it was their 'childhood'? It's ridiculously hypocritical and frustrating. Way off topic, I know, but hearing Dev talk about zoomers claiming to be gamers suddenly made me realize why I'm frustrated with modern Harry Potter fans- cuz they weren't bullied for it like I was.

Said this in other videos on Frosk. Her rant was a failure because the guys who set her off are laughing their asses off at her. They got the exact reaction they wanted. The rest off the viewers are pissed because they got a lecture instead of segments on video games.

You can express your disagreement with your audience in a professional way. You don't have to always go the "get on the ride or get out my way" mentality, especially when politics ain't even your show's forte. How can anyone view that G4 lady's actions as anything but needlessly antagonistic?

A million times THIS. You'd think people would had learned the "do's and don'ts" about approaching these sort of issues all the way back since 2015-2016, but I guess not. I don't doubt that sexism is still a noticeable issue in gaming spaces, but going about it this way does you no favors imo. At best you'll just cause "gridlock" sort of outcome when discussing multi layered loaded issues of this nature. Or worse, undo some progress that others prior fought tooth and nail to accomplish. Personally, I think the best way to make meaningful progress with these sorts of issues is to have a reasonable amount of patience and work at cultivating at getting people on your side organically. The "drawing the line in the sand" method of presenting your political stances is way too risky for a setting like this. But I mean, ultimately, they're free to do what they want. Just wondering now if they're genuinely ready to lay in the bed they made...

Man I do so miss the edgy 90s and 2000s, being a 90s kid I especially remember them vividly and fondly what a great era, I just wish I was born a little earlier so I got to enjoy it for longer.
