Afaik the Eurofighter is designed to be insanely unstable, to a point where it would simply fall out of the sky when the computers "translating" the pilot input would fail. Maybe thats why it feels similar at all speeds, since you dont actually "control" the aircraft, you just tell a computer what you would like to do

It's called relaxed static stability and it's not a new thing. The F-16 and F-18 were already using this design many decades before the Eurofighter. Iirc the Rafale and Gripen entered service before the Eurofighter and they also have relaxed static stability.

Even Typhoon pilots mention that it's a ridiculous G monster with excess power. I think a remember an interview that said you just stick it in full burner, pull full back on the stick and just wait until you out-rate the enemy plane. It has its drawbacks but for its intended purpose, the Typhoon is a beast.

Rn the CAPTOR-M radar is mostly a copy of the Blue Vixen radar on the Sea Harriers, which it was developed from. The issue is that the actual characteristics of the CAPTOR-M, which is competetive with early AESA radars in terms of scan speed (a publication on the ECR-90 puts the scan speed at 333°/s) and ECM capability just isnt represented in-game rn. Flame, Isurus and Fireball have been bug reporting the hell out of every aspect of the EFT but sadly Gaijin simply didnt cook properly this patch which is quite annoying. A lot of the bugs and missing features/incorrect stats got passed to devs, but who knows when well see those ingame

In both scan rate and ECM capability the CAPTOR-M is competetive with early AESA radars, especially compared to their single beam modes. If you want to look up these sources yourself you can go to the bug report forum and search for the term "Eurofighter - Missing Data Adaptive Scanning (priority track)" to find the Bug report by Flame, in which Devil added a source for the 333°/s scan rate. Finding out any info on the CAPTOR-M is extremely hard, but theres some pretty good finds made by Flame if you wanna look those up yourself

@@specc_s1452 ah but here’s the thing, with the thrust vectoring, at low speeds it would no longer be an energy fighter. It would essentially be a SU that can pull even tighter turns. Imagine what the SU’s can do irl, but with an even greater thrust to weight. It would make gaining speed after a bit harder but idk I think it would at the very least be a different flavour of typhoon for the future. As typhoon and f35 are pretty much it other than possible sub tree aircraft.

I feel this thing will get G-limited pretty soon, not really to nerf it, but to prevent the ripping. The instructor on other toptier jets (mainly 4th gens) seems to do its job by limiting the pull, but on the typhoon it just seems to just have given up. Does give you a nice ability to just simply pull insane amounts as if you were using full control without leaving mouse aim mode.

As far as I am aware and by comparison to dcs, the TWS "presets" seem to be either cooked up or random... In reality there are presets for horizonal scan and then there are vertical presets (bars) and you can combine the horizontal and vertical presets to your liking... Also the way radar scans is completely broken

@oSileyCT-7212 Rafale is worse in dogfighting performance than the EF2000, you can tell by the aerodynamics Rafale bleeds more speed but also doesn't pull as many Gs, but it's not far off EF2000 has the performance of basically just a slightly worse F-22, and if you try proving that Rafale is better by the fact that a Rafale beat an F-22, the Rafale started on the F-22's 6, and the F-22 had max fuel
