I am Spanish but I had a Brazilian girlfriend for almost nine years and I visited that country three times but only around Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. I am not only going to visit that part of the South but I am even considering to live there when retired. Economically it is worth, you can live very well with an European pension, at least better than in Europe.

I am from Florianopolis. Born and raised. The only big issue of Floripa for me it is transportation. Its an island it could be totally connected by boats, because 90%of the island commerce and industry is near the Beaches. I was just there again for carnival and it is the only city I would live in Brazil. Definitely the best and the safest one.

My wife is from Criciuma, 100kms south from Floripa, which we visit and always stop by and stay in in other beaches on the way. Then, when returning home, going up to Sao Paulo, we stop on the way in Curitiba and many other places, worth to visit.

homeless people are there, not because they have no family or home, but because of their drug addiction. It is a problem that unfortunately affects many cities in Brazil, drug addiction and alcoholism. It's like Skid Row and heroin addicts, but in Brazil we have Crack addicts... I think it's a problem that affects many countries in the world and not just Brazil, I heard that in Europe users of heroin and other drugs have also grown.

Have you visited San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle or Philadelphia? I visted these cities and never seen anything like anywhere else ppl like zombies from morning to night in few areas. But these city also have a beautiful part too so I cant portrait that it is all bad. For example I live in London and homelessness is a big issue here now with the cost of living crises and refugees/immigration plus drugs addiction but London still is amazing city, expensive though.

By far the bulk of the Portuguese immigration to the State of Santa Catarina was from the Azores islands(mostly from the central group of islands). The bulk arrived in the mid 18th century a full century before the Italians and Germans.

In Brazil there are many cities that look like a European country, especially in the south and southeast of the country such as: Blumenau, Coritiba, Campos do Jordão, Petrópolis, Gramado, Canela, Joinville, Holambra etc... About the aerial cables, you have to remember Brazil developed pretty recently and only slightly so, we don't really had the money for underground public wiring in most places. Plus the installation of these lines electrified most of the country in a matter of decades and we don't need to deal with snow like european countries, so yeah there's no priority in burying the cables when there are much more pressing issues around the country. On another note, loved the video, Santa Catarina and Floripa are truly wonderful and more people need to know that! Cheers from Brazil

Quem curte praia, uma gastronomia mais ligada a frutos do mar, fazer trilhas na mata atlântica, baladas e um pouco mais de agitação vai adorar Floripa e achar lindo. Hey please visit Curitiba / Paraná, we have some nice parks and the most beautiful train (Curitiba-Morretes) ride through the "Serra do Mar" in the country. Close to Curitiba there is also the state park of sandstones, the park of Vila Velha in Ponta Grossa. It is worth searching for these points. The coast is very close and we have the beautiful island of "Ilha do Mel", a great tourist and cultural experience.

You stayed in downtown Floripa (center city). It's cool but not the best. Floripa (Florianópolis) is beautiful, safe and nice. Thank you for visiting us.

As a European living in Brasil I must say i totally disagree with you…it’s actually even more beautiful than you are describing 😀❤️ It’s a multicultural society and it’s so amazing the mix of people and the diversity! There is a vibe here that if you compare europe, you actually can’t. European people are quite closed with their emotions and also not near as friendly! Being a foreigner here it’s amazing how well they received me and just to see the smile Brasilians have it just makes you wanna never leave! It’s a true blessing to live here😀🤙🏼🇧🇷

@@Anonymous-py1sf WEll, thats a stereotype for all the countries south the equator. But south of Brazil is not really a "3rd worldish" country, there's not extreme" poverty, no violence, no drugs like LA or NY. ITs a very peaceful region with industries and jobs, good people and nice beaches.

@@frankmorgan2772 Well, but I think you don't understand it is peaceful and "not poor" only if you compare it to other parts of Brazil. If you compare it to Europe, it is poorer than the poorest! Moldova (1 of the 3 poorest european countries) is comparable to southern Brazil, but Moldova is still safer. I commented because I have read so much comments like yours because you all think southern Brazil is like Germany but not at all

Nice video, as usual. Still the best produced (editing, picture quality) vlogs on KZbin that I've seen so far. The only cringe moment in the video, that I would caution, was the clip with a homeless individual, and the implication that homeless=unsafe. I don't think it's an accurate reflection. It's also possible that it was an unfortunate edit. In any case, the video is great, and watching you two anywhere is like watching family -- very likable!
