I live in Abu dhabi and often go to dubai for leisure and what i can say is that the migrant abuse in the Uae is normalized here. Most of the workers come from South asian countries, which are prodomantly poor, so they come here to live a better life and support their families back home. They can't really do anything to fight because that would mean them risking getting fired or even getting deported because there are thousands of other men who live in the same situation that could replace them.

@rantlyy
@rantlyy 4 ай бұрын
Not really, it’s pretty normal to have domestic workers here in the Middle East, they earn a LOTTT more than what they would back home and are able to fund their family’s needs. I won’t say abuse doesn’t happen, sure it does but at that point it’s irrelevant as it could happen anywhere and some hosts are amazing while others… yea
@BK01012
@BK01012 4 ай бұрын
@rantlyy "they earn a lot more than back home" is the talking point of everyone who has defended the Qatari slavery. And saying "some hosts are good while others aren't" sounds a lot like "he was a good man because he didn't beat his slaves."
@rantlyy
@rantlyy 4 ай бұрын
@@BK01012 again, domestic workers aren’t a qatari exclusive, everybody in the Middle East has this practice & the fact that yet get paid like 5x more than they would back at home doing similar back breaking work to build you westerners cheap 1$ temu products is a valid argument don’t disregard it, it’s not like they’re living comfortable life’s in their countries and we kidnapped them. And yes some workers are treated amazingly and are considered family and some are abused, similar to any other job, some are great, some bosses are abusive. It’s just that you only ever hear about the bad cases on the news so you’ve got a bad perception of it. I’m just asking you not to jump to calling all of them slaves because you heard it said online by other people like you who have no idea what’s actually happening here. Think twice before having such a strong unfactual opinion lol. Not everybody is able to live to western standards, life isn’t fair, we atleast give them the opportunity to educate and feed their families back home, it’s sure better than you guys buying Chinese products made by kids who’s lives are ruined & don’t earn a livable wage

@Nylon_riot

This system was invented by McDonald's. People think it is a food company, it is actually a real estate company. The Corp purchases property, they lease or franchise it out. The food just pays the bills while they buy and sell depending on the market. This is why you find McDonald's in places where you don't find other restaurants. The Corp itself runs very few of its own.Their land holdings are now rival that of the Vatican. It is considered the most successful and innovative real estate company in history. That is why so many companies are now using this model for diversification. And then these apartments mostly remain empty as other millionaires use it to launder money.
