I personally feel like he record the conversations to listen to them whilst he was feeling home sick. I think instead of fear or trust Glen was much more worried about being abandoned after this. He probably saw the recordings as a safety net incase she ever wanted to abandon him, using it more like a bargaining that will cause him to stay/live him. After all he did have a to-do list prior to hit that pretty much tied her as his wife (having kids/being pregnant, being married, living together). Assuming that the way she talked to him in the recording is normal than he probably hasn't been given emotional assurance that she actually cares for him the same way he does for her. Is it a petty tactic to have someone stay in a relationship with you? Yes. It is even more likely that this was his tactic as they have established a trauma bonded relationship in which the ex is the common enemy, the thing about these relationships is they are very easy to establish due to intense negative emotions but are very unstable because once the common enemy disappears so does the link that ties those two individuals together; ending their relationship.

We need some really serious Family Court reforms in this country. Too many people die because of the bs that goes on when it comes to custody. No parent should be given the right to remove the other parent from their child’s life.. a lot of men lose it in this country because they are being denied access to their kids and either kill the estranged spouse, or a much higher percentage, themselves. Taking a man’s children away from him makes him go crazy.. I think it’s hardwired into them. There has to be a fairer and more equitable way to do this that can’t be disputed by either party. Two men winding up dead like this is just crazy. And now there’s two sets of kids permanently deprived of their fathers.

That makes crimes like this a little harder to take. I think he was desperate for love. So desperate that the attention outweighed the common sense

You should absolutely do a video on Erin Patterson, it's another case from Victoria Australia, very recent, but she's been charged with three counts of murder and attempted murder after serving a beef wellington lunch laced with deadly mushrooms. As a Victorian, it's one of the strangest cases I've heard of in a long time.

Just a radical thought: automatic presumption of 50/50 shared custody unless there is an extremely compelling reason to depart from this. Problem solved. Fair to the children AND the father. Requires women to give up an awful lot of privilege and discrimination (in their favour) but there simply isn't a good enough reason to favour women at the expense of children and men in 2023. Also: attention men! Please wake up and understand how sexual manipulation works. You will live a MUCH healthier life.

I have a child who is similar to this poor man, and I'm so scared that some woman will take advantage of him when he gets older. She is despicable. He only wanted her love. It's what all of us want. My guess is that he was as sweet as my angel, but she manipulated him in such a way that he probably felt that her ex was the devil who needed to be dealt with. I'm so sorry for him and the people who feel his loss. I feel for her ex-husband, too. This is such a sad case.

I understand your concern, but when parents call their children "angels" it's always a huge red flag that they think their child can do no wrong. Don't immediately become suspicious of any woman that enters his life; nobody is perfect and any relationship issues they have will be between the two of them. I just know of a lot of crazy mother-in-laws who call their sons angels and practice emotional incest where they can't let go of their sons and villainize the wife/girlfriend they choose. Don't be that mom.

We found out years and years later I'm talking from 10 years old and I believe to senior year of Highschool it then came out her dad was inappropriate with one of our other friends who came over. I didn't believe it at first because from 10years to like 18 I had been over constantly and nothing ever happened to me. Me and this other girl both came from broken homes but had VERY different demeanors. She was more passive and quite but I was more like I dunno crazy and combative? She robbed her son of his dad and one day he will know that his mom planned it. What a nasty woman ! And I know what Glen did was bad. "Any loving mom knows that a child is happy when both parents are part of their life." - Mother or Mum..lets stick with english. So are you claiming that a good mother will ensure their child has their father around even if that father is physically or sexually abusive towards the mother..or child? " She robbed her son of his dad and one day he will know that his mom planned it. " 2 juries thought otherwise..and their is an appeal process - your basing your assumptions on the assumptions made in this video and the hearsay, not evidence of some witness's as well as the incredibly maleficent testimony of jail house informants at the behest of well known perverters of justice. Perverting the course of Justice is the criminal charge many of these Victorian police were charged with during this time and subsequent convictions for many people have been quashed.

A gun's power and advantage is range. When the distance is under three meters, yes, a knife in a skilled hand can easily beat a gun, with a certain amount of luck. (Military combat training teaches that you charge a pistol and run from a knife for exactly this reason -- distance favours the firearm.) Especially a long weapon. It's then a question of who first lands the critical strike. What's impressive isn't that he brought a knife to a gun fight and 'won'. It's that he did that when already shot, mortally wounded, and dying. That is the real badassery here.

Similar crime actually happened just recently in my country; a teenage girl manipulated her rich 20yo boyfriend to hurt her ex boyfriend who is still a teenager. The ex almost died but thankfully he’s recovering in the hospital now.

Some people are just born evil predators. As if their only purpose in life is to prey on, manipulate, hurt and use people. Especially those who are weakest or most innocent. it’s quite terrifying and also heartbreaking for those who unfortunately cross paths with them.

I could never imagine witnessing your partner get shot in the face, seeing an intruder get stabbed, and then being attacked by the intruder and you yourself almost losing your life- then getting harassed by authorities that it was you who killed them both. Feel sorry for Michaels girlfriend, this is truly a nightmare.

Unfortunately, and in my opinion, there are "weak" people who get preyed upon, you know, easy to manipulate. I know someone who is taking advantage of an older man, and he is literally to dumb to stand up for himself. It's crazy, it's real.

The fact that she joked/asked her friends to kill Michele and they didn't think to tell the police is crazy to me. If one of them did both Michele and Glen would probably still be alive.

Just flagging up that in that screenshot of the text message I think the child's name was visible. Also she contradicted herself by adamantly denying that she wrote the message yet saying Glen would avoid reading and writing at all costs, such a terrible liar. Thanks for covering this one Adrian, had never heard of it before!
@avaggdu1

I was going to say, for someone who avoided writing at all costs, the text was unusually long (never mind it was a text instead of a phone call) and apart from some poor puntuation it was surprisingly literate. For someone who writes 'opsticals', 'bulet' and 'pregnet' being able to spell everything in the text correctly (including hyphenated 'part-time') sticks out like a sore thumb. It was obvious Glen did not write it.

I really can't stand it when a person's "life" sentence is maybe 20 years, *if that.* *LIFE* should mean whole, natural life. 🤬
@arleccio

Life means whole life. There's degrees of possible redemption though. And in this case a minimum of 25 years before she can even ask to be released. She likely won't be released so soon if ever.

@@arleccio there have been plenty of situations where a person is released after a sentence of "life" in prison.... After 15 years. Or less. A life sentence should always mean your entire life. You took someone else's. Good behavior should never negate that. They won't get parole from being dead.

@@5h4d0w5l1f3 good thing, too. You rob someone of their existence, yours should be forfeited. I'm not talking about accidents or justifiable homicide. If you intentionally murder a human, you should never be free again. Or even still live, where capital punishment is still given.

A case similar to this just happened in prineville oregon where a lady shot her sons dad because he was trying to be a good dad and get his son back. My heart is with the children who lose both parents because of one's selfishness. No child gains from this.

It's too bad she didn't shoot herself. The child would certainly be better off. But that's not the nature of people like that.
@tiedyebritt3841
@tiedyebritt3841 Жыл бұрын
@Meghan Cass i understand your strong sentiment but i also understand that losing a parent to death is so much harder than losing them to incarceration. If the children don't have to experience death and carry around what if's the rest of their life, that would be the ultimate outcome. She shouldn't have pulled the trigger on him or herself. She should have had enough empathy and will power to change the situation. But no matter what the shoulds and shouldn'ts are, these poor children are stuck with their parents burdens and that is beyond unfair. These children deserve to believe in hope and redemption if god forbid they ever make a mistake. Our children won't evolve past us if we show them how to devolve.

I'm surprised the police didn't check where Glen's cell phone was when the incriminating text was sent by Biannca from his phone to hers. Records would probably show it pinged from a cell phone tower in the same location as her phone, and not somewhere else many miles away. I don't have much sympathy for Glen, if any. He tried to kill Sylvana with the shotgun, and when that didn't work he began beating her. The only true victim here is Michael. All he wanted to do was spend more time with his son, which was his right. RIP, Michael.
