I got disgusted with all of it, and worked as a paralegal, and found the justice system that was supposed to be so far from what they taught me in law school was far from it. It is estimated that 200,000 forrmer slaves died in the Internment Camps from Disease and Starvation. The for slaves were forced off the Plantations. They followed the Union Army for food because the food supplies were destroyed by the Union. The Union Troop's made folly of them. They pulled up the Pontoon Bridges and many blacks drowned trying to swim the rivers to keep up with the Army. They slowed the Union March. So these Internment Camps was their answer. They have treid to destroy this History. They also don't want people to know the truth about the Original Emancipation Proclamation. The Original Emancipation Proclamation was read on September 22,1862. Lincoln stated that if the Southern State's would return to the Union by January 1,1863 they could keep their slaves. Slaves would only be Emancipated in the State's that continued to rebel. When not one Southern State came back to the Union by January 1,1863 Lincoln omitted or the Offer expired. Lincoln signed and issued the Proclamation on January 1,1863. There is so much more History they have tried to destroy. I was shocked this video came out. I have been teaching about these Camps and some don't believe me. My dad had a Master's in American and World History. So much History has been destroyed to keep the false narrative of the Moral North and solely put all the blame and racism in the South. At the time of the Civil War there were 5 Northern State's that didn't allow blacks to live in their State's. Southerners had lived with blacks for a few generations.

When the Union destroyed the food supplies and forced the former slaves off the Plantations, they followed the Union Army for food. The Union Army made folly of the slaves. They pulled up the Pontoon Bridges. Many blacks died trying to swim the rivers to keep up. The solution was putting them in Internment Camps where 25% of them died of Disease and Starvation. In 2021 I visited Amsterdam in the Netherlands. While there I heard a brief history of the Netherlands. They denied the fact that they were ever involved in African slave trade,. When asked why Dutch was spoken in Surinam and the ABC islands (Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao), I was told that I was a disruption. This is a common reaction by enslavers who are ashamed of their history, and their source of wealth! The U.S. is no better. None of this regarding the atrocities of 1863 is taught in U.S. schools or colleges, not even in HBCU's.

I'm a white 58 yr.old woman. My grandfather was also sharecropper and raised 7 children. My mom talks about how tough times were when she was growing up. They had to work in the field during planting and during harvesting season. So, they didn't go to school during those times. Other kids gave them a hard time bc they would fall behind. My mom worked in the lunchroom during her😢 p.e. time. So other kids didn't see what she had for lunch, which was usually a tater(potatoe) biscuit bc they couldn't afford lunch from the school. But, I can say she is a terrific mom and worked hard in sewing plant or mill work. She made sure my brother and I never did with.

I'm not justifying slavery at all it was absolutely horrible. And there were over 3700 black slave owners during those times. History is so complicated and so much to consume. Believe it or Gen Robert E Lee and many confederates didn't believe in slavery they believed in the south and didn't wanna be forced to join the union and on the union side many believed in slavery especially the wealthy elites in the New England states who were funding most of the war. Lincoln wanted to free the slaves much soon but he feared those same elites in NE who depended on slaves for some of their businesses would stop funding it. When the war started slipping away he knew he had to do something and he was in talks with Fredrick Douglas about the blacks joining the union one night he had a talk with an aide as he was walking out he said you knew what the right thing do is sir .next Lincoln free the slaves. Gantt blame people today for something that happened over 150 years ago. Slavery was horrible no one will disagree but to blame people Today for it. And did you know the KKK was founded by democrats not only did they lynch hang beat blacks they also did it to whites who hung around with blacks and catholics.
