Dear one, I do not know who you are, but may God bless you for your kindness. ALL we wanted when we started these recordings was to keep the Monastery afloat financially, while offering some sort of joy, some sense of hope to everyone. I remain convinced that this time of common temptation has shown the depth of the hearts of many, and that some of us will come out of this filled with love, while others among us will need to repent for the hatred we poured into the world. A small gesture of kindness and love can help someone get through a day - what more can we hope for? Be blessed, dear one, be blessed.

I have been exploring Orthodox Christianity for a few years while belonging to a protestant church. Earlier this year I was taught about the horridness of gossip. I was volunteering at my church event to raise funds for something we needed for the building and overheard women gossiping about me. Immediately I prayed for calmness and God impressed upon me to remember how this gossip harmed me and from now on to refrain from this terrible behaviour. I left that protestant church and continue to study Orthodox Christianity. There is no Orthodox Church close to me so I am praying for guidance. I appreciate your channel, thank you.

Several years ago another Orthodox truck driver parked his truck next to mine for the end of the day. I noticed that he had a small icon of our Holy Mother on the microphone of his citizens band radio. He explained that She reminds me to be careful about what my impulses might otherwise say to all those that may hear on their radios. I have never forgotten his wisdom. Christ told those that condemned His apostles for eating wheat on the sabbath as they walked that we are more defiled by what comes from our mouths than by what we put in our mouths.

Be attentive, my child, that you not judge any soul. For God permits the one who judges his neighbor to fall, so that he learns to have sympathy for his weak brother. The mercy of God supports all of us, but if we become proud, God will remove His grace and we shall become worse than the others. It is one thing to condemn someone and another to be fought by thoughts of condemnation. To condemn is a terrible passion, but to be fought by such thoughts and to fight back-this is an occasion for crowns. Each person must bear the weaknesses of others. Who is perfect? Who can boast that he has kept his heart undefiled? Hence, we are all sick, and whoever condemns his brother does not perceive that he himself is sick, because a sick person does not condemn another sick person. Love, endure, overlook, do not get angry, do not flare up, forgive one another, so that you resemble our Christ and are counted worthy to be near Him in His kingdom. My children, avoid condemnation-it is a very great sin. God is greatly saddened when we condemn and loathe people. Let us concern ourselves only with our own faults-for these we should feel pain. Let us condemn ourselves and then we shall find mercy and grace from God. -Geronda Ephraim of Arizona of blessed memory-

Dear one, the depth of Christ's teaching and His commandments is beyond what we can understand in this fallen state of our hearts and minds. This is why the best approach is to embrace them in FAITH, not based on logical understanding. But we are SO blessed to have the experience and teachings of thousands and thousands of Saints who lived before us and who have travelled the same path as we do. By their prayers, may we all be blessed.

It looks very cold where you are, we can see your breath. The setting is striking and looking out the window behind you is profound. Intense message. You know, I am very very isolated. Right now, like your friend, the internet is almost my only human contact, and it’s true - Christians, when one is so hungry for Christ - are not the best place to find Him. Reading the comment sections of speakers who DO speak CHRIST into ones heart can fill one with despair for ever trying to come back to the world of men. So I thank you, Father, for the words of your heart so faithfully offered knowing you too are criticized and slandered, a prayer of protection for you, and the light you hold out into the dark.

It isn't that cold, dear one. And I do like it a bit cold, to tell you the truth. That little room is the Vestry Room of Kilninian, we are now trying to repair the windows, add some insulation to the stone walls etc. I would not have addressed this topic if I had not seen how damaging it is to so many people. There is a great danger that we'll carry the hatred we are being fed through the internet during this time of separation into the real world, into our real lives, when we shall finally be able to meet again in person. We need to step away from all this poison, so that we may greet each other with love and an open heart when the time comes.

Thank you for this. I really needed to hear this message. My wife had an affair with a friend of our family 2 years ago and we have been going through a very acrimonious divorce. I have criticised her and slandered her behind her back to our friends and my family because I felt so betrayed and felt so much pain for both myself and my children. I have criticised her to our children too, feeling vindicated because I have never told them about her ongoing affair, but pointed out all her other flaws and hypocrisy not thinking for a moment how much I am sinning and hurting them and my ex wife and to those that listen to me slander her. I am so sorry for this. The pain has been immense and I don't even know where to begin to make things better. She has shown absolutely no remorse and has been ruthless in our divorce proceedings and this has made me hate her but at the same time would forgive her in an instant if she showed remorse. I am lost. Please pray for me and guide me if possible. (This is not my real name by the way, I use it incase my children ever stumble across this video)

I had a similar experience like you discribed. And after almost 20 years I still feel so immensly sorry for what I told to the children about their father. My ego could not take the betrayal and so I slandered my husband and felt even good about this, it released me a bit I thought at this time and even it is so common in our world to do and to think in this way. It took me several years to recognize .... If I may recommend you something: begin and continue with true, radical forgiveness in your heart, even she does not show remorse towards you! We cannot see in other peoples heart, we are not the ones to judge, it is all up to God! And besides, we never know why this happened, even we feel betrayed and free from guilt ........ God sees more! Take care of you! I will pray for you and her!
@mullmonastery4 жыл бұрын
If you can, put it in your heart that she has already shown the remorse you need, dear Dorinel, and move forward in peace. At this point, you are hurting yourself more than anyone else. Sooner or later, her heart will repent, but that repentance will be before the eyes of God, not before your eyes. Put it in your heart that she has already repented before God, so you do not waste even more of your time in bitterness and anger. Live now the life you would live after her repentance. You can do it. It is only a matter of allowing yourself to do so. May God bless you, dear one.

These saints endured these extreme conditions by the power of faith and the warmth of the Holy Spirt. All things are possible for those who LOVE God with all their heart and soul. May we all come to understand the true power of faith.

So true. Also, see Frances de Sales who says the same, Introduction to the Devout Life, 3:29, Slander: "Rash judgments lead to disquiet, contempt for others, pride and self-complacency, and a hundred other evils, amongst which slander stands prominent, the very pest of society. Oh, for a live coal from off God's altar, wherewith to touch the lips of men, that their iniquity might be taken away and their sin purged, even as the Seraphim purified the mouth of the Prophet Isaias (Is 6:6-7). Whoever unjustly deprives his neighbour of his good name is guilty of sin, and is further bound to make reparation, according to his slander; no man can enter heaven with another's goods, and of all worldly goods none is equal to a good reputation. Slander is a kind of murder, for we have three lives: the spiritual life, which consists of the grace of God; the corporal life, which is in the soul; and the civil life, which consists in reputation. Sin destroys the first, death the second, and slander the third; but the slanderer is guilty of a triple murder with his tongue: he destroys his own soul and that of his auditor by a spiritual homicide, and deprives the object of his slander of civil existence."

Father bless! Thank you for this. Indeed I have wondered this very thing often since my confession and repentance of March 25th, 2019. My journey into Orthodoxy has been beautiful. My house is in order. My wife and children feel and experience my love for them. I am not claiming to be even one bit of a "Saint" but my past is indeed dark and the change is real and actual. My older sister said it was as if I was Saul and am now Paul. Glory to God! My thoughts have often wondered if the people who knew me before, "the old me" as my wife calls it, and how they may be prone to say, "Is this not the man who did this and that?" Praise God for His Church. For the Body of Christ where true healing happens. While I have wondered what some might say if given the chance I do not worry or dwell on that. Forgetting what is behind I strive forward for the prize ahead! Thank you for these words. For me, the true sinner, they are a balm! God bless you!

Father bless, this was as ever a potent and needed message. I have been on the receiving end of gossip and slander so often during my life I learnt to avoid it before I knew Christ, as I knew in myself how much it hurt. Now I always think of the saying of one of the desert mothers, that when you have a dead body in your own house you do not go and weep over your neighbours, to remind me not to judge and to repent of my own sins of which there are many. It is not easy to reject gossip and I am pretty certain there has been some about me in parishes where I have herd gossip about friends and told the person saying it that they are sinning by slandering another (especially when the person slandered was a priest). If we could all love a bit more and judge a bit less it would be a far better world to live in, and a few more saints might emerge within our number.

I know what you are saying brother, but don't worry, no Saint will be "prevented" from achieving their destiny because of the wicked, because God is in control and He is our Defense. But to be slandered, just as Christ was slandered and called Beelzebub, is a GREAT Blessing, and a sign that our Reward is GREAT in Heaven, for we partake in the sufferings of our Lord. Satan can never overcome the saints, God is ALONE SOVEREIGN over this world, and He never allows us to be tested beyond what we are able to handle, when we are in Him.

Today is the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Just try to imagine if she were born today, in this troubled time of slander and gossip, propagated through the powerful Internet. The news outlets would call her a psychotic who sees visions of angels. Maybe Jesus would never have been born? He certainly would be rejected again--over and over again....

I think we all agree, but we are all so guilty of this....It's so hard not just to shut my mouth, but also to pray for people being accused in front of me,and I know,my brain knows this is my fallen state, this is the devil, this is my trial, but still... Is another proof that I'm not on the right path

Putem incerca. Atunci cand avem putere, luptam noi; cand ne lipseste puterea, lupta Domnul pentru noi. Dar trebuie sa facem putinul care ne este in putere, trebuie sa intarim muschii buni ai inimii - noi ii dam Domnului cei doi bani ai vaduvei (duhovniceste vorbind), iar El ne daruieste Imparatia.
