Fantastic guide! Though I think it's worth noting that, besides the keys, you get something like 100 herbs a and ton of gunpowder for completing the Shooting Gallery. While perhaps not needed, it can help players feel more at ease in regards to their resources.

A Wandering Gourmet Akumu is really easy when you know the game properly, get to used to the game you know but if you're playing Blind.... boy you're gonna get F.U.C.K.E.D alot lol

Yeah i went into Akumu straight after normal difficulty and i was not ready for the new enemy spawns, i still remember when i got to the village area for the first time and saw the Ruvic clone wandering among the standard enemies and i just stood there staring in disbelief.

Yeah. I haven't started this yet but Akumu was pretty easy when you knew all the things from the game. But I gotta confess I didn't finish it. Got stuck in the spider monster boss in the bus and then other games got in the way. I think I have to go back and finish it.

If yall are wondering about classic mode here are some answers. 1. The difficulty of classic mode is not entirely Nightmare since there are fewer enemies and all enemies and bosses on classic mode have survival health which is their base health but they still do nightmare attack damage. 2. No, you can not upgrade so green gel and weapon parts are nonexistent but instead, you get tons of gun powder, herbs, ammo, first aid kits, and syringes. 3. You can only save 7 times throughout the game but believe or not there is an 8th save buts that will be for the cleared game only. 4. Costumes are disabled in this mode leaving you with only the default costume. 5. Completing classic mode will unlock infinite ammo.

Ya right! In chapter 7 in union post, I got chased by the first guardian all the way to the beginning and cornered me and sliced me in half lol. So she doesn't stop chasing. Oh well. Gotta go all the way back to cgapter five.

Same here. And then she attacked me through the wall while I was in the safehouse. I had to use the computer to teleport back to the marrow or whatever it was, then teleport back just so she'd be gone and I could be safe in the fricken safehouse, and make my second save.

I would would just kill her myself, she's very easy. Use the 2 explosive barrels, and the oil spill you can use twice, then just shock bolt her and shotgun her a few more times and she dead, easy. Then you can also collect all the supplies in the boss fight area. Oh wait I'm dumb, you're talking about the Guardians milling around the town, night the boss fight at City Hall. I found those ones super easy to avoid.

And....just finished the classic mode run thanks to you man! The bitch parts for me was the fire walk. Must've died at least 8-10 times trying to do it. Made a save before and after that damn encounter and then went smooth sailing from then on out. Praise to you sir!

I just started and while I have had a couple close calls if you literally follow this guide to the T you'll do fine. Just be sure to study how he does each chapter between saves so you know exactly what to do! By the way thanks for the guide sir, I got to Chapter 4!

I followed Jigsaw's guide mostly and I did the shooting gallery. Which gives you a great addition of health and gunpowder with at least 2 keys. I'm lousy at this but if I can do it. I assure you that you will be perfectly capable of beating this also. Keep in mind you don't have to do a speed run. But if you listen to the video at the difficult parts and follow them you'll see you can also. Oh and save your shock bolts on Stephano. You don't need them. You can use hand gun ammo and shotgun ammo. When you are in Stephano's 2nd part. Keep in mind what he yells. "Philistine!" means he will run at you until he slashes at least 2 times. Corners are your friend there. "There will be nothing left of you when I'm done." The corner that is to your immediate left when you enter the room is your buddy. Shotgun spawns on the table there and the tentacles can't reach you. But you'll see them slam on either side of this particular area.

Classic difficulty on this game hopefully won't feature the annoying cheap instant deaths that were almost impossible to avoid in the first game. For example instantly being killed by a dynamite stick thrown by someone you couldn't see because they were so far away.

I think classic mode is way more better than akumu. On akumu i wished it would end as soon as possible even following your genious guide lol. And classic playthrough i beat on my own and it was my fav part of the EW2 experience

Well I'm late as s*** but I'm replaying both of them for Halloween and yeah I'm still on the side of evil within one with all of its crazy Janke being more appealing game to me. What I like about it is that it's less about you know shooting bits and things like that and way more about just clever use of items I mean it's really hard to explain especially you know in the comment section but you have a lot of freedom that you just don't have an evil within 2

To save people some grief, for any like me who are playing this gem later than most people, if you are doing a Classic mode run, Please, Please, Please avoid the projector like the plague. I was fixing to do my first save on my run and Sebastian got stuck in the chair staring at the wall. So i get to restart my whole run due to a bug. And this was with having collected angel statues and pouches. By all means look at the projector on any other difficulty.

I'd love to know all the people who tried to use your guide, and died horribly. Not only does playing on PC play a bit differently than console (in terms of how fast you're able to spin around with precision and move) but using a 'speedrunners' guide I don't think is the best way to go. They are going to employ tactics that they have refined over many, many tries, whereas most of the rest of us will only play through the game a few times. Don't risk a risky tactic in Classic, because shit happens and you will die. Best thing to do is take your time, except in the few parts where you obviously need to run, and if you've played the game, you pretty much know where those are. My advice to you guys wanting to do the Classic playthrough, don't watch this vid. Complete the game, then while it's fresh, try a run at Classic Mode on your own. Look up a trophy guide to see where the best places to save are at, but other than that, go at your own pace. Not only does following a guide moment to moment ruin the whole point of gaming, but you're following someone who is an expert at the game, and using the same tactics is most likely going to get you killed, because as I said above, chances are you don't know the game inside and out from 100 playthroughs. Of course, even at your own pace you're going to die a few times, but that's better than suffering through trying to copycat someone else. P.S. there's a stamina-saving tactic/ exploit this guy uses, that 99% of people are not familiar with, and are not going to be employing, simply because it's not committed to memory through a ton of plays, and I think most people want to play the game how it's meant to be played, instead of spamming buttons to save a bit of stamina. Because if you've got enemies on your ass and your panicking, you're not going to remember to spam the f*cking buttons properly to maintain your stamina. This is why you need to take your time and follow your own pace. It will be more rewarding in the end, I promise you, and will result in much less death. All that said though, I still give due props to Jigsaw for posting this. It is entertaining.

Appreciate the comment dude, I disagree though. There are a lot of people that this guide has helped. The strats I used were not speedrun strats, I planned these out to be slow and to try to help as many as possible. Also I would not upload any strats if they took multiple tries to do. Now at the same people can use the guide to get a general idea of what I'm doing and how certain parts work so then they mostly won't even need to copy what I do.

If someone is playing on PC and they knew the game very well, yeah, this could work very well. Absolutely. But consoles is a different story. You're taking some risks here and there that could be pretty dangerous for newcomers, if they decided to follow your exact moves. (Obscura fight is easy anyway, but your strat adds unnecessary difficulty. Easier to just keep moving and use the pistol, and save shotgun ammo.) My opinion isn't detracting from your ability or that the vid is entertaining, but for us console jockies ;) following your playstyle, particularly at certain points, is pretty risky, and in terms of controls not even entirely possible. Part of the reason for that is not being as much of an expert in terms of knowing exactly what happens when, and how to move perfectly at the right time, but the other part is, you're playing on PC. Your field of view and the precision/ quickness that you can use in your aiming and moving around is different than on console. That's a fact. I could tell immediately from watching you play. (I'm playing on PS4 Pro BTW, and yes, the game still crashes..) So I guess my main point is that for those playing on console, some of this is going to be pretty hard to pull off. But regardless if people use your strats or not, they still get an idea of what to expect of course. But playing on PC is never the same experience; that truth exists in most games, no matter who is playing them. But great vid regardless. I'm still watching you and being entertained, so it's all good.

I did my first run through on Nightmare already, so this guide has been helpful for Classic. Classic is no where as hard as Akuma was. Other than the game crashing 3 times for me in between the first and second saves, it's been really easy. I'm not really following the guide completely though, still been gathering supplies, I'm near chapter 14, and I have over 400 gunpowder, and over 100 herbs. But it's helpful for the boss fights, and certain spots. I tend to be more stealthy and careful as well

Wasted life hours can you imagine getting all the way up there from chapter 11 then dying in two hits by a disciple. I have done this at least 7 or 8 times it's frustrating because I can't really see them spawning as easily in the video and I'm always getting hit from the back by one. This is the hardest not in difficulty but frustration. This is the firewalk I'm talking about. Chapter 13

I died many times from chapter 4-7 so couple of tips for people who aren't as good as Jigzaw (like myself). In sewers crouch behind screaming lady straight away as she's always walking away from you, stab her then let her chase you back to the crawlspace you just came through. Go through and she'll turn around, come out and stab her again. Job done. For the Guardian on chapter 5 take the same route as Jigzaw but after picking up first explosive bolt only shoot sniper rifle box (guardian will break the others) this gives you more time to back up towards the stairs, then shoot the barrel, quick turn, hop on stairs and pick up what he does. Shoot only syringe box, now here's what really stopped me from dying. Do everything he does but do not pick up any of the items that come out of the boxes, only pick up the explosive traps. This saves you loads of time and gets you through the door quicker (still use electric bolt though). I died here at least 3 times. After you've killed Obscura and leave EVERY ITEM that came out of a box will still be there so retrace the route in which she chased you and get all the loot then. Hope this helps anyone who has to replay this annoying section. Btw excellent guide Jigzaw. I'm on chapter 9 so far thanks to this guide.

André Gonçalves I, personally, put it at the beginning of Chapter 6, *before* going to the paintings. (That being said, that’s also because my game kept crashing every time I tried to enter the second painting, regardless of which I picked. Still, that’s about an hour of gameplay lost if you die or get a crash.) Also, you can be a little loose with the saves. The last four he puts REALLY close together, in my opinion. I put one before AND after the Firewalk, primarily because I was nervous about dying there, and then proceeded to die 20-ish times to it after being set back once by a Keeper double-charge. I just skipped the save after Theodore to make up for it (all of Chapter 15 is a breeze; just don’t let the mini-boss kill you).

André Gonçalves TL;DR: Put it wherever you like, and don’t worry about being exact with the saves. Know your strengths and weaknesses, and use those to decide where and when to save. Hope it helps.

I have to say 2018 on PS4 save 1 to save 2 (chp.4-7) is a huge pain with this guide.. I had atleast 5 attempts before I made it, obscura fight took WAY more healing than it did for you, her movements were just not predictable at all. theres so many times I got seen/hit/killed by different enemies/bosses even when trying to replicate your actions exactly. I strongly feel like there should have been a save somewhere between the 5 bosses/mini bosses in those chapters because thats also way too long to rely on PS4 not crashing the game, which did happen to me on my second attempt at the very end while destroying the second painting! Very discouraging when that happens, and altogether I just felt very discouraged following this guide during those chapters!

At chapter 13 now, right before the fire walk. How I did the saves is the same as the vid suggests, except for a couple of differences. 1st - Start of Chapter 5, before the guardian (the sewer part of chapter 4 is simple) 2nd - Chapter 7, after destroying both paintings 3rd - Chapter 10 safe house 4th - Chapter 13, in hotel before fire walk ... Then I plan to use the rest as such 5th - Chapter 13, after fire walk 6th - Chapter 14, after Theodore 7th - Chapter 15, before Myra fight The fire walk has me worried and I really don't want to have to repeat Chapter 11 and Chapter 12. So, it made sense to use the optional save for before the fire walk.

What was your strategy for Stefano? I'm having a lot of trouble with him. How was the cabin fight? I ask because once I defeat Stefano I REALLY do not want to have to run past that damn eye for the 100th time to fight him only to possibly die again, but I'd rather not waste the optional save because I'm worried about a few spots near the end and don't want to have to repeat long sections over and over again.

Man the worst thing in the whole world just happened to me, I played all the way from chapter 4 to chapter 7 where you destroy stephano drawings, I destroyed the first one and on my way to the second one the PS went ( something went wrong with this application ) and now I have to do it again 😤😩 , damn you Sony 👊🏽

I feel like his pace in this game has went kinda nowhere in the last 2 months. Maybe he's been grinding less? I feel like E2ing as many operators as possible is more important than max leveling them. Not to mention that max skilling shouldn't be that big of a problem, I keep up with it easily as a f2p and I have 105 operators. Then again he still hasn't prioritized finishing Annihilation 3. Something I finished in my first month... It still would save you a bit of money even if you have plenty of money.

Oh! Basically when when you're crouching, if you face a wall and you see a small arrow (facing down) at the direction where you're looking at, press the cover button to crouch sprint towards the cover

This was my first platinum! Just finished it today, feeling accomplished xD. This vid really came in clutch for navigating high traffic areas that I didn't want to bother dying multiple times and trying to figure out. Like the section just before Theodore fight.

Classic mode takes it back to the original resident evil restrictions, I like that. It's like getting to play Resident evil without the poor controls or camera angles.

Thanks game. :) Edit: Bit of an update, I played up till before the chapter 7 mark and saved, and tomorrow I'm gonna play through and hopefully get to the next save point without my game crashing. I think the game turn the difficulty by its FPS. I got 150FPS. but when fight Harbringer (Liam O’Niel) hard to stealth kill that boss. It didnt work when I spam F (keybind Stealth Kill)

Stefano is kicking my ass. Help please. I'm starting to get really sick of running through that theater and past that fucking eye of Sauron over and over again with its unskippable cutscenes... I'd save after that but they're aren't nearly enough saves for that to be an option. 7 saves is not enough to mitigate the possibility of having to do long sections over and over again if you die. They could have at least had checkpoints for the bosses, or at least had a COUPLE more to collect if you just explored a bit.

welp, this guide got me killed in chapter 2 rip. It was not only difficult to keep up with you and your speedrunny ways but, every turn I did where you would just run freely, there was an enemy waiting for me almost as if the game knew I was watching a guide. Not trying to beat this game on classic anyway. 💀💀

I personally reccomend to "practice" until you make it just before the Stefano Fight to make the first save, the first half is easier than the second half of the game, when you can use all 6 remaining saves. That worked for me just fine, besides that, this is an excellent guide to make it through this relentless achievement. It's really satisfactory at the end to replay in "destroy everything" mode with the infinite ammo.

The game crashs in the second paint's strategy (going run and open the door without being hit) on the PS4 version. I had to start over again because of this and I know the problem is this strategy because I applied before in the nightmare's campaign and happened the same thing in the same part. So, those who are playing in a PS4, get warning.

Trying to turn on the generator killed me because the zombie in there didnt even die from axe shot fucking 1 hit dead before even the first save. Even before that random zombie followed me all the fucking way on top where you stealth kill the guy and made me use 2 syringes. Fuck it.

I absolutely hate this mode. My game has crashed 2 times (one time right before I wanted to save during chapter 3 and another time during the obscura painting. Without the crashing I would have made a lot more progress

Going through the gas sewer now I just backstabbed the monster then ran back through the planks and waited for it to lose me, then backstabbed it a second time and killed it Easy and safe

awesome guide :D I've been following along but got screwed over outside the theatre so I'm back to the first save before the gas filled area. The guardian outside the theatre didn't stop following me like she did to you so she chased me until i ran out of stamina and then i got swarmed by 3 random lost that came out of nowhere and ended up dying

Great guide, just a reminder that this playthrough is out-dated. Playing in 2022 & quite a few segments in the game are different. Example the fire walk you cant kill those guys with 5 pistol shots. Be mindful.

@@superhorrorfangurl well what I did was, run up & spam the take down, work a most of the time. When they get close, 1 shotgun round then run up & stomp their head. Be fluent & move alot, if you got to chapter 15 I'm sure you've had your fair share of running & maneuvering.
