How amazing is the quality of the materials used in those earlier dresses. I think the 3rd & 5th dresses are my favourites. I hate to think what Mattel would charge nowadays for such beautiful gowns. Walleye stare is the funniest expression about Midge but it’s spot on! I have the Winter Wedding on my brunette Midge. It was very yellow when I got it. I soaked it in oxy clean and it’s bright white now. I love your wedding collection! Some Ive never seen. I had the Tracy Bride and some of the gowns from the 80s.

I washed a couple of days ago the Holiday sisters gift set dolls Barbie Stacie and Kelly they came out nice i had to use conditioner on their hair so stiff i let them air dry outside in my backyard on a towel they don't smell old anymore yeah

Hi Jack have you ever had to fix a broken Barbie doll neck our cat Tiger knocked over my plastic storage box of Barbies and it fell down and rolled over upsidedown and landed on my pink Barbie Corvette where my Holiday Hostess Barbie was in the driver's seat well cause of the weight her neck got cracked how do I fix her neck without having to throw her away

The front of her neck is a little split down the middle it's still attached to the neck and behind her neck it also split in the back of her neck the pieces are still attached but bent down a little help 😊

I have the 68 tent dress , got it at an antique shop . my favorite one is the 1977 get up and go bell sleeved \picture hat one as well as the 1984 wedding of the year one so classic yet 80s sheer puff sleeves.loved the look of the vintage ones too! The 1972 wedding dress looks like a Gunnysak brand that was so popular with us then. I have the Midge wedding set. The wedding dresses from the 1960’s were less elaborate. Probably due to what was going on with the war in Vietnam. People got married quickly because of the draft and didn’t have the elaborate weddings. They are all beautiful dresses.

In the 40s-60s, my grandmother, her mother and her sisters used to get up every morning and dress up in some pretty refined clothes. It was a different era and the earlier Barbie fashions you showcase represent that. Btw, that Winter Wedding dress is freaking gorgeous!

I used to think Midge was the ugliest doll ever - uglier than Dusty lol - but one day I asked myself, "what if she had been released before Barbie?" It wouldn't fix the walleye stare, but if you take Barbie out of the equation, she's actually kind of cute. Probably would have been less controversial too, as her face is more youthful. I'm still not going out of my way to get one, but wouldn't mind adding her to my collection. Whenever I see a tent dress, I always think of the quote attributed to Zsa Zsa Gabor on why she liked them: "because I look so good when I take them off" LOL. So many layers, details, and trims on vintage doll clothes! We need to see the Ken version of this. I have a recent wedding gown, and it doesn't fit right on ANY of my dolls. I love they have shape variety, but not making clothes specifically for the body types annoys me.

I own the first one and 72' Sweetheart Satin. I got the Sweetheart Satin in really bad shape. I "Fixed" it, but it is more glue than dress at this point lol. But I also got 90s Country Bride and Southern Wedding dress.

Another video that was so much fun to watch! I remember not liking the short sleeves on the '63 wedding outfit when it came out so I didn't want that outfit for my dolls (had a brunette ponytail Barbie and red flip Midge too! Also a brunette flocked hair Ken). But now I really like the style. I did have the Orange Blossom outfit - I was too dumb to realize it was supposed to be a bridesmaid dress! I really enjoyed seeing the other wedding outfits you showed. It's really sad how much more effort Mattel used to put into its dolls' clothes.

One of my cousins wore something like Wedding Wonder and it's the coolest thing she ever wore (not something you usually say about bridal gowns!). I've got a few of these. Love the winter ones... they look like something a princess would wear. I wish you'd included the 1975/76 Beautiful Brides. Your Barbie wedding dress collection is beyond amazing ! It all looks so white compared to mine ! I store them in blue tissue paper & I bring them out for a photoshoots or displays About 10 years ago the summer Gay marriage was passed I photographed Barbie marrying Midge & Ken marring Allen for a charity event at The Gay Community center in NYC .I created light boxes & used film for large transparencies that were auctioned off. Seeing this makes me want to do a display & create a June Bride theme this summer ! I had the hardest time with the very first gown Wedding Day Set gown from 1959 ! I kept tearing the lace right at the neck every time I put it on a doll . Finally after damaging so many , I got one last one and very carefully put it on a #3 she has lived in it for decades ... 3:59 I have to tell you . i actually saw a real life woman who looks exactly like Midge . the original Midge doll . i saved a photo of her of a news story . she is an African American woman and she has a face tattoo but when you see her you will agree that is Midge's face . 9:27 i have all those gowns and the fur on that dress is real rabbit fur . unless somebody removed and replaced it . i don't have the next 2 dresses but i think what they used on the second winter gown might be wool. if it isn't it is made to look like wool .
