So most songs you didn't know were last singles from albums, or promo singles or singles that didn't do too well and since I see a lot of loose comments commenting on single songs, I decided to compile the reasons you may not know the song: * Born to Make You Happy: It was only released internationally (so that means everywhere but the U.S.). Instead, the International public didn't get From the Bottom of My Broken Heart released as a single. Fun fact: The music video was originally set to have her be a knocked up teen, who was "born to make [the guy that left her] happy", but the script leaked and all sorts of parents associations protested it. Another fun fact is that the lyrics were originally allegedly sexual, but Britney wasn't comfortable singing those lyrics, so she had the lyrics rewritten. * Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know: It was the last single of her second album Oops!... I Did It Again. It wasn't a big hit and didn't even reach the BillBoard Hot 100. Also, fun fact: Her mother was totally unhappy with the way this music video was so sexual, allegedly. * I Love Rock 'N Roll: It didn't do too well. This was also in the midst of Britney being banned from a lot of the major radio stations. From I'm A Slave 4 U up until Me Against the Music Britney was banned from a lot of radio stations, because they were owned by a certain company that wanted to sponsor her Dream Within a Dream World Tour, but since she opted for another sponsor, they blacklisted her on a lot of radio stations. That is why I'm A Slave 4 U immediately stopped being played, and Overprotected, I'm Not A Girl, I Love Rock 'N Roll, Boys and Me Against the Music all didn't do too well on the charts (that were based on radio play mostly). It wasn't until early 2004 (so around the release of Toxic) that this ban was lifted. * Outrageous: It was the last single from the album. It didn't get a full music video, because halfway through filming it, Britney had a knee injury. Outrageous is however the prime example of the effect the radio ban had, because even though not many people know it, it was #79 on the BillBoard Hot 100, while almost everybody knows for example I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman and that song didn't even make it onto the BillBoard Hot 100, but got stuck at #102, leaving it at #2 in the BillBoard Bubbling Under 100 chart. The music video (or what was left of it) featured Snoop Dogg and there were rumors that a Snoop Dogg remix would be the official single release, but it never actually got released. * Someday (I Will Understand): It was a promo single for her reality show "Britney & Kevin: Chaotic". It was a moderate hit internationally, but failed to chart worldwide. Fun fact: Britney was pregnant during the filming of this and claims she'd written this two weeks before finding out she was pregnant, even though the lyrics are about her baby. * Break the Ice: Sorta was the final single from Blackout, but a promo for Radar was also released afterwards, but that was only to a select amount of European radio stations. This single didn't do that well, but still managed to get to #43 on the BillBoard Hot 100. Originally the single version would be the remix featuring Fabolous, but that was scrapped. The music video was animated, and we still don't know exactly why hahaha * Radar: Was originally supposed to be the final single off Blackout, because her label had signed a deal with Bloodshy & Avant - the producers of this track - that Britney could have the song if she released it as a single. But since her label wanted to move on from Blackout, they didn't release it. But since they made the deal, they still had to release it, so they put Radar a bonus track on Circus, her next album and made this the final single for that album. It didn't do too well, but it was a final single... * Kill the Lights: Was never a single, perhaps maybe a promo single, but never a full single. This video was the result of a fan competition, where people had to animate a music video to this song. * Perfume: Was the final single from Britney Jean, and Britney Jean didn't do well. Even Work Bitch was only a moderate success. This song didn't do well. Fun fact: The original music video for this song was about the concept of Britney being a hitman (or rather hitwoman), but it was cut for unknown reasons. There are photos of her being all beat up and crying and of her pointing a gun at a car that were from the original set. There are also btw original video concepts for ...Baby One More Time, Everytime, When Your Eyes Say It (An album track from Oops!... I Did It Again), Gimme More, Work Bitch and Make Me that were either not released or never realized... Well, hope that clears it up! :)

@Scott: Okay, the part about the lyrics being sexual was talked about by Britney in her 1999 Rolling Stone interview, and as far as the pregnancy music video goes: There used to be a great source, which was a website with all things unreleased by Britney - and with good sources - but unfortunately it got deleted. This was one of them. You can still find it in pages by BreatheHeavy.com and Buzzfeed online though, if you search for "Britney Born To Make You Happy pregnant" - I don't think KZbin will allow me to post direct links though.. The Don't Let Me Be The Last to Know bit was also on that website, but it's also stated on the song's wikipedia page under "music video", so you can follow the link there to see that link; it's a Britney A-Z and it's under "X" As far as the Radio Ban I've mentioned under I Love Rock 'N Roll; I've only discovered this recently, but you can look it up on the internet under "britney spears radio ban" or something like that and you'll find detailed descriptions. It does make sense, because almost all of the singles from "Britney" (2001) didn't do well on the charts The Outrageous part about Snoop; well, of course he is in the video, but many sources that reported on how the music video turned out have also stated that Snoop recorded a remix for the song, which would only be logical, since he's in it. As far as Someday goes: The first bit is literally seen in the music video, but the second bit about how she wrote the song two weeks before finding out she was pregnant can be found here on KZbin in a behind-the-scenes video she had for this song. The final facts about Break the Ice, Radar, and Perfume also have many sources... Hope this clears it ups for you! ;)

the break the ice video was animated because of the state of Britney at that time. as we all know she had problems and struggled (personal life) so they tried to focus on that amd trying to get better which lead her to not make a video with herself in it cause she was busy and unable. this why they did an animated one ;)

Born to make you happy was released in Europe instead of From the bottom of my broken heart which was a US single. I remember Born to make you happy reaching #1 in the UK early 2000 because it was her 2nd #1 here then followed by her 3rd with her next single Oops... I did it again which was the first single from her second album obviously :).

...Baby One More Time album was released when I was in the 8th grade. I always loved Born To Make You Happy and didn't understand why it wasn't more popular. I liked it better than From The Bottom Of My Broken Heart. Omg, though, I can totally see Enrique Iglesias singing Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know with her! I prefer it just being her vocals, though. Never thought of that, ladies; good call!! ♥️♥️
