I remember last day of school our science teacher was sick of the usual music quiz nonsense that the board told them to do to pass time, so brought in his ps1 and gran turismo and had a competition to see who could lap the fastest. Mr Lee, you were a boss of a physics teacher, and Gran Turismo is THE boss of racing sims.

I was just playing 3, 4 and 5 the last 2 months, in order, and they are ALL great games. I have hundreds of hours in 1-7. 3 was the biggest transition, 4 added SOOO much content. 5 took the graphics and handling to it's peak. these three games are the core of the series.

A lovely trip down memory lane. Gran Turismo has been one of the mainstays of my gaming collection. Still got Gran Turismo 3 A-spec and Gran Turismo 4 as my all-time favourites. A labour of love for all that is car motoring and motorsport.

I pre ordered GT3 with a steering wheel and pedals from Logitech due to arrive on a Friday. I took the Friday and Monday off work and they never arrived. I was so miserable all weekend, absolutely furious. They arrived on the Monday but the wait was awful

To me, the PS1 version is still the most impressive. It’s hard to describe just how good it was for its time. It was like the development team knew magic to make the PS1 display all of that crazy detail. GT and FFVII were incredible PS1 graphical showcases and incredible games in their own right. The PS1 games at launch and those in its last years was like they were running on completely different hardware.

Very nice trailer, cuda had some smoother transitions betwen each iteration of GT, but bring back fond memories of GT3 A-spec & GT4 biggest game changer for the PS consoles! 🤣👍😎🤘

Well I never expected to get emotional over a Gran Turismo video, but here we are. That run from GT1 to 4 was magical. Not that the later games aren't great, but they feel slightly less relevant than those games did back then. They were the quintessential driving games on console.

I remember seeing the first game in magazines and they'd have a feature where'd you have to guess if it was in-game or a real photo. It's probably quite obvious now

Music, car, track, sponsors, licensing. They can easily remaster a Flatout, other than the music the tracks/cars are fictional, Burnout they can as well. GT is too license deep.
