The only area that moves out of where it should be with this is death mountain, though it is possible that dragon roost island is a different mountain peak in the eldin area.
@DarthTingleBinks2 жыл бұрын
I would assume it's a different peak, as Dragon Roost's peak is far taller than Death Mountain was ever shown to be. And seeing as there are Goron structures in the Volcano, the Gorons definitely came to Dragon Roost at some point. However, I doubt they lived here, as although Gorons typically live fairly high up (because they live on mountains), they have never been seen to live at such extreme hights. They only ever entered the Fire Temple from OOT from the entrance in Goron City, which was made mainly to appease Volvagia. It's possible that they came to Dragon Roost for the same reason and built the temple as a shrine to Valoo, rather than actually living there.

They're not the same place at all, or even related for that matter. Ikana was more defined by a bloody war with the Garo and it seemed to be connected to the concept of the dead, it also had a more artistic side, with its famous composers and such; while Cobble simply disappeared, noone knows how or why. It was a land of architects, engineers and technological prowess; while its people seemed to have some connection with divination magic/abilities. There's a non-zero chance Calamity Ganon was simply Demise taking on a more animalistic form since it is described as Hatred and Malice Incarnate, not something like the Wrath of the King of Evil or something like that. Given that Breath of the Wild 2 seems to have heavy emphasis on time travel to a time where there were islands in the sky, who's to say that those 10,000 years aren't in reference to the first war against Demise?

@Arcticus To me that's just proof BOTW cannot be in the adult timeline. Much like the ending thought on Part 3, I tend to think that Four Swords Adventures is misplaced, if not entirely non-canon. Because if that game wasn't in the Child timeline, the child timeline would have been wrapped up nicely as well. We have Link going back to be a child, Majora's mask that gives the Hero of Time a separate adventure, and then a game taking place 100 years after Ocarina of Time with Twilight Princess, where even the Hero of Time's story is wrapped up nicely with him teaching his descendant sword techniques that he never got the chance to. Personally, as far as BotW's Hyrule's placement goes, I'm in the group that thinks it's basically an "inevitable conclusion" to all three timelines. There's a theory that time is like a river and it always returns to the same direction it was originally flowing, even if it branches off at some point briefly. So at some point down the line, after thousands upon thousands of years have passed, all of the timelines eventually converged back into a single one and it's in that "branch" which BotW (and the first Calamity) takes place. That's just my opinion though.

When they say that the Gods intervened during Ganondorf's second invasion, I always took that to mean the lower gods. Things on the level of the Light Spirits or Jabu Jabu, those kinds of gods. Not the three Golden Goddesses that actually made everything.
@Fuzzypaws3 жыл бұрын
Same. The golden goddesses already refused to intervene directly when the Interlopers ravaged Hyrule, and sent or awakened the light spirits instead, so what makes Ganon special by comparison? It pretty much has to be the lesser deities, especially since they'd be more likely to have to act by way of such blunt force instead of just booping Ganon out of existence or into another world. Heck, the Golden goddesses even clearly refused to or couldn't intervene when Ganon's daddy Demise exterminated almost all sentient life. I actually don't think they're around anymore. They created the world and either just left for elsewhere as per the OoT myth, or were consumed in and became part of their creation. The light spirits were probably just part of that creation.
@nickcurrant22543 жыл бұрын
That's certainly a possibility, but it's important to remember that the Sages would gather together in Hyrule to play music to call upon the gods, just as when they play music to restore the power to repel evil in the Master Sword, in WW; and the two sages even stayed behind in the Temple of Earth and Wind to pray. There is no indication that these 'prayers' were directed toward or received by the Deku Tree or Valoo, for example. This seems to indicate that they were not the cause of the flood, as the sages would not play for those lesser gods before the flood. That doesn't prove that it was in fact the Goddesses who flooded Hyrule, but it does at the very least indicate that something greater is involved. However, since the WW intro shows them symbolically praying to the Triforce when they pleaded to the gods, and this behavior continues throughout WW (Ganondorf and Daphnes pray to that power when they attempt to use the Triforce, which is of course a symbol of the Goddesses power), it is implied to be the Goddesses even if it is due to their ignorance.
@commonviewer24883 жыл бұрын
@@Fuzzypaws How do the Oracles fit into this though? Din and Nayru clearly sought out Link's aid with foreign lands, and were guarding powerful magical relics that could change time and the weather. There's some connection between them and the actual Goddesses.
@dayshallcomeagain3 жыл бұрын
@@nickcurrant2254 Same. I'm pretty sure it was the Golden Goddesses who flooded Hyrule, not the lesser deities. I mean, sure they are powerful, but they're not THAT powerful. The closest of a deity living in Hyrule that we've seen so far that came even remotely close to matching their power is the Goddess Hylia, and even she was mortal, albeit extremely powerful. In fact, she seems more like a more powerful version of a guardian deity, this time the Guardian Deity of the Triforce. However, I don't think that the Golden Goddesses were ignorant of the affairs occurring in the lands of their creation. I actually think they are far more intricately involved than many people say they are. People just overlook it in favor of the more dramatic acts the Goddesses took the protect the Triforce, such as the banishment of the Interlopers and the Flooding of Hyrule. There's also the Oracles. Whether or not they are actually reincarnations of the Goddesses themselves or simply given their names, they DO have connections to the Golden Goddesses, thus more proof of their close involvement.
@nickcurrant22543 жыл бұрын
@@dayshallcomeagain, Yeah, concerning WW and the flood, I just think there are too many indications of the Goddesses being responsible--the game itself seems to lean this way. I mean, even when playing music to restore the power to the Master Sword--of all places in the temple--they place it upright in the middle of a Triforce symbol (which, again, represents the Goddesses' power). The only way I see the lesser gods being responsible is if every god and their elemental powers all acted at once, called upon by the Sages' music, but even that seems like a bit of a stretch. I feel like changing the whole world so quickly and dramatically would require the supreme power of creation, like the Goddesses. Edit: Just spitballing here, but I think it's possible that the Spirit of Malice (which incarnated into Demise, Ganondorf, etc...) was a God that came from outside creation--the Demon Realm or somethjng--and so the Goddesses have no supreme power over his presence because they don't rule him. They are forced to fight him through mortal means, because his presence cannot be totally eradicated.

The thing with parallel worlds and portals being always together is that in ocarina of time, portals were just warps within places rather than dimensions, there is also portals for time travel like Ocarina of time and Skyward Sword, and portals to alternate parallel worlds like the dark world and lourie which are clearly alternative. Koholint being a dream and the world of the ocean king being something like it is proven by themselves. I personally don't think Termina, Holodrum, Labryna and "the minish world" are really parallel dimensions... but rather a place far away link takes a warp portal to, or just a portal to change size for the minish world...

I love this series and I hope it will be continued when we hopefully get more information with botw 2 :) My personal favorite headcanon is that botw places at the end of the adult timeline, many many thousands of years after Spirit Tracks. There barely is any proof for this and most connections I just speculated and made up but I like it the best this way xD

Great vid! I was looking forward the Adult Timeline analysis the most. I have a proposition, though: can the New Hyrule be the same landmass as the Zelda 2 continents? I mean, there's nothing that would suggest otherwise. Not only would it bring at least some consistency to the everchanging geography of this world; it also fits well thematically - both ST and AOL are the last games in their timelines, marking the Ganon's ultimate defeat (and therefore breaking the cycle, probably?), so moving forward from the ancient lands to the new territories would be a great farewell both times.

aw, i was hoping you'd connect new hyrule as the adult timeline's version of labrynna! with the mountainous north, volcanic northeast, southern shore with a few coastal islands, southwest forest with a lost woods, and important spiritual sites in the center (the tower of spirits and either ambi's tower or the maku tree's grove), there's some pretty significant similarities between spirit tracks and oracle of ages. there's even some unnamed sections of the map that line up well too, like the mountain and gorge by slippery station lining up nicely with symmetry city's plateau and nuun highlands' river!

Great vids. I always thought not in the literal but maybe their all stories. Each is an iteration of someone of that time. That’s why things always are different in each game. No one tells a story the same. Like the telephone game, at the end the message is different from the beginning.

If you squint, the New Hyrule map roughly maps onto Labrynna as well as the northern continent in Adventure of Link (which I think may well be one and the same). Look at the island in the southeast corner, the river flowing from a northwestern source, the general distribution of rocky and green areas. That means Holodrum/AoL's eastern continent, plus AoL's northeastern maze island, are lurking somewhere to the east of the 'new' world...

I liked that you brought up the saltwater/freshwater explanation for the Zora turning into Rito. I would add further that they were likely also forced to "land" themselves due to increase predators that would have swarmed in from the ocean (sharks and other monsters). Having been the number one predator in the rivers and lakes, to then being prey in the ocean would've forced them to stay out of the water. Additionally, unlike the Hylians who are technologically more advanced (developing machines, boats, and other tools), the Zora lacked the know-how and knowledge to craft such items. Again, evolution would've forced them to turn to the sky, what with the limited resources on Dragon Roost Isle and the inherent dangers of the vast ocean. To get to neighbouring islands, flying would've been the next evolutionary step for them. I'd also suspect their bone structure could've helped their fins evolve more easily into wings.

No, the end screen of Phantom Hourglass didn't feature any train related sound. What you hear is Linebeck's Boat. However, tradition has been kept and the "Conductor" ending of Spirit Tracks ends in the same fashion, with Link's train blowing its whistle.
@SAI-Max_D3 жыл бұрын
Not sure if what you mentioned at 21:31 - 21:49 was subjected to localisation differences - similar to how Spirit Track's Byrne was called Staven in some regions (or the whole Cat Confusion from The Minish Cap's PAL version - but I know in the Australian version of Phantom Hourglass that what is heard when the End screen fades to black is the S.S. Linebeck, with the whistle sound based on the chimney part equipped.

12:30 , i imagine that the kingdom told all the hylians to come to castle town to be escorted to a mountain, and in this context windfall makes sense since as you said it's like the new capital of the great sea and i think the residents of castle town would also be sent there, with people eventually sailing to offset island to live there too

First, the Gorons don't have as much issue with the Great Sea as you suggest. They can't drown as they have no need to breathe, so they'd simply live a slower life underwater if they fell, which many of them probably did. Consider the Gorons of Twilight Princess. The Underwater Goron is the obvious call, but there is also the Goron kid in the Hot Spring. He mentions practicing holding his breath but never needing to come up for air. This is ingrained in them. Many millennia after, this is still shown with Gorons like Dugby, whose face is submerged for all of daytime. That's also evidenced by his gurgling speech, if you can't look at him for some reason. Also, the Koroks are simply the evolution of the Kokiri, not the "pure and true form". That's nonsensical. Kokiri are merely Hylian children who don't age due to being inside the Great Deku Tree's aura. When they leave, they age. The companion Fairy is also a blessing from the Tree. To say that the true form of Hylians is tree spirits is comical at best. I will also add that if anybody had "Sheikah ancestry", then they'd be Sheikah, born of Sheikah man and Sheikah woman. With her round ears, Mrs. Marie is a Human, so not even a Hylian, let alone a Sheikah. No Sheikah are seen in this timeline. The only clue to their potential survival is the Gossip Stones that somehow appear, but even they could be a callback of an expedition long ago by the Sheikah.

Got a new theory! The Hidden Village from Twilight Princess, 'Old Kakarico', instead of becoming rundown became Windfall Island in this timeline. They are located in similar spots of the map compared to other landmarks.
@chanimalice38743 жыл бұрын
My theory is that the kokiri only became the kokiri for the duration of the OoT game, as when Link's mother took him to the Deku Tree, and the Deku Tree saw his potential, he instructed his koroks to change their form to match the Hylian in order to disguise and protect him. He also would have told his koroks to tell Link that Kokiri cannot leave the forest or they will die for his protection, as you see at the end of the game, they can leave quite easily with no harm.
@nickcurrant22543 жыл бұрын
I have heard this theory before, but there is some strong evidence against it that a lot of people are unaware of, namely three things: 1. The Kokiri retained their form long after Link left the forest in OoT (seven years), and at that time the Deku Tree was long dead and Link didn't need taking care of. 2. Fado was a Kokiri long after Link left, after OoT. He would meet and play music with King Daphnes before the flood, along with the other sages--long after the Sages of OoT were gone. 3. The Deku Tree says, 'Once upon a time, long ago, the Koroks took human forms, but when they came to live on the sea, they took these shapes', meaning they only transformed because of the flood.

It's worth noting that the Forsaken Fortress used to be inhabited by "a rival band of pirates" that has since vanished. Since the Gerudo were pirates in Majora's Mask, I assumed that the Gerudo from OoT eventually became pirates based out of the Forsaken Fortress. Then they vanished either because of Ganon's arrival or just some unrelated reason.

I think maybe Windfall Island could be located where Twilight Princess' Hidden Village was, as you said in the third part it could be there during OoT's events. Maybe that land survived the flood and the descendants from Kakariko moved there.
@IanWatson2 жыл бұрын
Zeltik's got a video, "The Mystery of Windfall Island," which convincingly lays out the idea that Windfall Island used to be Ocarina's Kakariko Village. If true, the overworld geography doesn't make a lot of sense, but the island itself matches up to the village quite well. While that video sort of contradicts your conclusions here, he's got another one which doesn't, but is still pretty neat: "Forest Haven = Kokiri Forest?" which matches up features between the two.
