I was watching Fritz Lang's, "Cloak and dagger. " with Gary Cooper, & wondered if this film influenced Fleming. ( I can also, see shards of "Indiana Jones. " in there.) "Coopers, "The General died at dawn." Also. Cooper would have been fantastic as Bond, & or Jones, had he been born 30 years later. ( Then, again he wouldn't have been Gary Cooper in the first place. )

It has been recently revealed who influenced Ian Fleming as it was a British Secret. The book "To Live Well is to Hide Well' explains with proof mind you who he was and also 'Vesper' for that matter. True story.
