Agreed. Lui has been changing a lot and straight out hating on anyone taking PEDs. Hanging out bodybuilders on social media and posting sarcastic messages. The unbiased Nick is unmatched in this department as he covers events/people based on the passion of the sport rather than pushing some crazy agenda. (I think!)

tamang sun the sad truth is “golden era” bodybuilders aren’t as impressive as the new bodybuilder early on when they first start. I like Arnold and Zane but even a pre 2011 heath or young Coleman would make them look very bad. Arnold had far too many weaknesses and not enough strengths. One thing I prefer about todays bodybuilders is it’s not just a show of chest and biceps, they are just more balanced

I Met phil at FiBo in Germany a couple of times and I have to say, that he was always very kind and respectfull towards his fans. I can understand that some people might call him cocky but the times i met him he kept things really professional. He took pictures with everyone, looked me straight in the eye and just talked to the people, like a normal guy. This attitude alone sets him apart from some of his fellow competitors..

True Story: Kai was on minimal to no gear early in his career. Kai’s first NY Pro, the one Phil won, Kai just wanted to strut his stuff in front of his home crowd. A year or so later, Kai hit the gas pedal on the gear and the rest is history. Phil was supposedly always utilizing optimal levels of “Sports Technology “ from jump and he responded VERY well to it.

He kinda had to. His main rivals were Jay, Dex and then...Ramy. Early on they say he was about 215-220 on stage. Even Dex is aroud 240.So, he had the shape but not the mass. His 2nd or 3rd O he was 230's and that was the 1st show the judges didn't even have to compare him. He was so good in the call out (and added size too) everyone knew nobody could touch him. I know I left Kai off the list of top guys and the reason is I honestly think Phil beat Kai at the Arnold and then at the O he placed higher. I don't think Kai really ever was better. Kai just upped his gear use to compete after he was doing so bad against a rookie and no names.

To answer your question at 8:10... I think he has high chances of winning 2018, not just because of politics as many people like to point at immediately but also because his physique really evolved over the years in exception of his midsection... But since its pretty clear that his hernia is gone now, it wont be much of a problem to hold it in... I honestly think Phil will 2018, Bonac coming 2nd and Ramy becoming 3rd because I dont think Ramy will nail his conditioning as of yet
@monsoon1174
@monsoon1174 6 жыл бұрын
Rammy's physique hasn't changed since 2014 honestly. He's only gotten more conditioned. Phil is getting bigger, and if he comes in with a tight waist, it'll become evident just how dominant he really is when he puts it all together. A 100% Phil Heath today would wipe the floor with his 2011 shape(Back is thicker, legs are tree trunks now, really good balance between his upper and lower body now)
@IvefoundthetruthonMay
@IvefoundthetruthonMay 6 жыл бұрын
Monsoon117 Definitely, his legs are at this point even better than his back I would dare to say! The best legs in bodybuilding at this point and one of the best ever.
@TA-zw2rv

The sad truth to the other competitors is that the judges don’t even need to see them to know if they have a chance. They could literally line Phil up and as long as he’s not completely off or have the midsection problem then nobody else on that stage has any chance. Coleman would have been the only person who could have pushed Phil

I honestly think he has the potential to win not only 8 Mr Olympias, But 10. As we have seen at his guest posing, The gut that we have all dinged him for is being improved massively. If he can bring it back to replicate 2011 with all the added mass he has attained since then 2018 onwards might very well be his best physique.. Only time will tell, but no one is close to him at the moment.

First off, I'll answer your question, I think that Phil Heath's chances for winning his eighth straight Mr. Olympia are excellent. I'm very sure that he'll do it. I'm not a fan and I don't want him to win, but they're not likely to ask if that's what I want heh, heh. Since I'm not a fan I didn't know a lot of his story, so, it's very interesting that the rivalry with Kai Greene goes back as far as it does. I learned quite a bit from this video Nick, as usual you filled it with great info and fantastic images. I dig how you're always very honest with your opinions and critiques, no matter what your personal views are. That is the mark of a great journalist, commentator and also the mark of integrity and of a gentleman. Phil Heath shouldn't have thought anything about the 15 year old you who asked for the photo...except for how you got back there maybe. If I were him then and now I'd get a kick outta knowin' what became of that kid in the can. Part of why I'm not a Phil Heath fan is the fact that nobody can be certain of his thoughts in that chance meeting with you back then and we can't be sure of what his reaction would be to learn that was you. It is my opinion that a champion should be an ambassador of his/her sport and should do their best to set a good example in every regard. They should be a good person and be proud but humble and mature and all of that good stuff and I don't believe that Phil Heath has exhibited these qualities. If he listened to what you say in all of your videos he would know that you absolutely have those qualities and many more and he should be able to accept honest opinions about his physique and he should have been mature about things and not have blocked you. Of course, these are just my unsolicited, personal opinions and thoughts that nobody is likely to even read heh, heh. As always Nick, a great video, thanks. ...................................PEACE!!

Phil needs to prep for this Olympia as if Ramy and others are going to improve dramatically, and from what I've seen from Phil talking about going for the record he's taking it incredibly seriously. At the same time, he's going to need to change prep and do whatever the hell Roelly did to tame that distension, but there's a strong chance Phil takes another incredibly close Olympia.

Yes. Phil definitely can win 8th Sandow. At the end of the day he is the most impressive, most conditioned and one of the most genetically gifted bodybuilder on that stage. Also, apparently he had his gut problems fixed. This year I'm also rooting for William Bonac for second place. Say whatever you have to say about him but he's one of the most complete bodybuilder from head to toe.Plus he's crazy conditioned on stage. Ramy is yet to deliver. Phil Heath is still very dominate in bodybuilding I dont think many can oppose his size. He is a beast, I love kai greene I am a huge fan of him, I feel he is the only person that can match phil in size. the judges will make the final call.

This will be his most important Olympia without a shadow of a doubt, So wouldn't be surprised if we see a whole different version of him this year. More freakier and 3D than ever!!!

Phil Heath has earned it. Top-to-bottom overall he's been the best bodybuilder this decade and already is arguably in the top 5 bodybuilders of all-time. With one, two or three more shots to win the Olympia he could elevate to being #1 based on achievement. Gotta give credit where credit is due whether you like him or not. Good experience Nick, awkward or not! How many people get to say they brushed with greatness in a public bathroom! I think he has a very good chance to win his eighth Mr. O. regardless of the hernia surgery and approaching 39 years old. Ronnie Coleman won his last Mr. O. in 2005 at age 41 so it's doable with his track record and if he pulls his waistline in a bit.

Phil has had the best look of any bodybuilder of the last 40 years I reckon. Incredible condition, balance and muscle roundness. One of the best of all time

I truly believe that Phil has high chance to win 8,9 and 10 Mr.Olympias. Not only due to his body, but also the lack of strong competition!

So if i remember correctly during the 2017 Olympia, Phil was dealing with issues from a hernia around his naval which he had corrective surgery for. If Phil can come in with a tighter, more narrow waste like in his younger years, I don’t doubt the fact that he can match Lee Haney and Ronnie Colemans record. Roelly Wynklar was able to get his gut in check so I don’t see how it would be impossible for Phil considering his AMAZING work ethic. However, if Big Ramy can come in with his conditioning on point, Phil will definitely have a run for his money. I’m not the biggest fan of Phil Heath or his 2017 physique, but the man does have great genetics.

Hell win, he has no competition. Every mr O throughout history has been able to capture an insane level of fullness while being tbe most conditioned. No one can challenge him. Although hes not even in my top 10 favorite bodybuilders, he cannot be denied

I believe the 2006 Colorado show was the same one 47-year-old Gary Strydom competed in with Kai Greene.

Unless somebody comes into this year's Olympia in epic form (Think Gunter's at the GNC Show that beat Ronnie in 2002), Phil is going to be an 8 time Champ. Who could possibly come to that show with not only the form, but already possessing the genes? I just don't see anyone that could.

I think he'll take his eighth sandow his gut has tightened up after surgery and he described in an interview that due to his injury that had been ignored for several years nutrients weren't being transported optimally or something I don't know I'm not a doctor but he was allegedly quoting his doctor when he said this so apparently know he'll be able to improve greatly because now nutrients and "sports supplements" can be absorbed more efficiently.

Im not into bodybuilding a lot and idk how many people love him and how many people hate him (i think that he has a lot of haters but a lot of fans too) but I think that you should be loved by a lot of people to be able to win 7 Mr.Olympias because that goes in history... even if he wins this one he won't win his 8th...Just my opinion btw he looks amazing :)

Honestly, I think Phil is going to go on to win at least 9 Mr O titles. I dont see anyone that can take it from him unless he does something stupid, especially since the footage I have seen of him off season, it looks like he has done a good job of getting his midsection back in check. I'm by no means a phil heath fan boy, just calling it how I see it

Phil is absolutely going to win again. Have you seen the recent pictures of him? He's gotten EVEN BIGGER, he had his hernia surgery, and I think he'll have the gut in check.

Phil will probably win his 8th title if his midsection is under control. Phil has such good genetics that its hard to compare him against other competitors.
