The right wing parties certainly did well in the 2024 election. However, also take note that it looks like a far more significant right shift than it really was, just because the NI and others are added on the right end of the spectrum instead of the middle.

Explanation for Names and Colors: During each of the European Union's parliamentary elections, various parties from the member countries will join together into what's called a "Parliamentary Group". These are pseudo-temporary associations; with some specifics being renegotiated and the name often being changed with each election, but more or less having existed for decades. Because of this, don't bother trying to pay attention to names; just pay attention to the color indicating their overall ideology. From left to right... Dark Red: Communists. Generally anti-NATO and sympathetic to the USSR or Modern Russia, but opposed to full-blown Soviet or Putin style dictatorship. Mainly call for enormous and rapid economic collectivization. For obvious reasons, they are relegated to the fringe since the end of the Cold War. Light Red: Non-Communist Socialists and Social Democrats. Basically an alliance of the furthest-right socialists and furthest-left capitalists. Strongly supportive of the European Union, and mainly focused on expanding or modifying existing programs with the goal of reducing poverty and inequality, without any sweeping overhauls. Basically always the 1st or 2nd largest group. Green: Alliance of parties that are almost all called "The Green Party" in each of their respective countries. Most can be described as either socialist or social democrats, but they focus much more on environmental policy and minority rights than reducing inequality. Pink: Regionalists. Left-leaning and centrist parties that support the continued existence of the EU but believe it should be highly decentralized, and prioritize this decentralization above other goals. Yellow: Liberals and centrists. These parties are generally pro-free market but not necesarilly opposed to expanding welfare (it's very situational for them), and STRONGLY pro-EU, to the point that many (though not all) member parties seek to turn the EU into a full-blown federation Light Blue: Pro-EU Christian Democrats and Conservatives. 'Christian Democracy' is an ideology that never really took of in North America and thus tends to seem bizarre to Americans, combining staunch social conservatism with support for a significant level of government intervention comparable to Liberals. Conservatives are...well...conservatives. They are similarly socially conservative, but also strongly pro-market and generally oppose significant changes (especially expansion) of existing EU programs. Dark Blue and Light Grey (not sure why they're separate colors??): Anti-EU Conservatives. A motley array of Right-Wingers ranging from 'basically centrists' to 'basically fascists', who are united almost exclusively by their opposition to the European Union. In practice, this means that they seek to reduce the level of power the EU has over member states as much as possible, while also opposing immigration and th Dark Grey: Far-Right Extremists. Like the dark blue/light grey, these guys are anti-EU, but their opposition to immigration is much more extreme--to the extent that politicians in member parties often call for deportation of all or most legal immigrants and non-white Europeans. Usually also anti-NATO and pro-Russia, and favor authoritarian (though usually not full-blown autocratic; think Serbia or Turkey, not Russia or China) governance. White: MPs that are not formally affiliated with any Parliamentary Group. Pink: Miscellaneous groups that pop up for one election cycle before disappearing, and don't have any approximate equivalents in past election cycles.
Those are major groupings in EU parlament. We vote for nacional partys in european elections and they usually group themselfs in EU parlament (like EPP group) so they can vote together and have stronger influence.EPP is Europes peoples party who are centrists and they won recent elections.
