Bill Shatner switching back and forth in the chairs in the Winners Circle was yet another case of just how crazy he is! Having Bill Cullen and Lois Nettleton already seated at the top of the show was one of many ways of hiding the fact that Bill actually couldn’t walk! Seeing a very young Levar Burton was a treat- though I would have liked to have seen more of that show he was on with the blind contestants. I used to love Nathan Cook- he was so sweet! He passed away in 1988 of a severe reaction to penicillin- he was only 38 years old- so sad! Billy Chrystal’s record-setting Winners Circle round should have been shown- that record still stands (he cleared the board in 24 seconds!)! “The Pyramid” was also one of the last shows to be broadcast from New York (it later moved to California) until “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire”.

I could remember the $25,000 bonus round/winner circle the lower tier was from $50, $100, $150. Second tier: $200 and $250, and top money tier $300 to the top of pyramid of $25,000.00 Pyramid. Under Donny Osmond era of Pyramid: $200, $200, $200. 2nd tier $300 $300 and top tier of pyramid of $500. But under the tournament of champions $100k format: $500, $1,000, $1,500. The second tier $2,000 and $2,500, and $5,000 towards the top of the pyramid of $100,000. The same as the nighttime Pyramid in Michael Strahan's era.

I liked the series from Dick Clark to John Davidson after that they completely dumbed it down kind of a reflection of how dumb we are getting as a "evolutionary species" Haven't watched it since 1991. Don't plan to either.
