From a musical standpoint, this is a dope arrangement. Bass player is killing it. Walking all over the damn place. Love the horn arrangement and perfect flute accents. The quirky synth grounds it firmly as a late 60’s early 70’s production. Love it! Sounds like who ever arranged the star trek theme had a similar style. Only music heads will understand. Rhythmically it has a bit of a South American bossa nova feel.

This song brings back a lot of memories. My grandma would always wake up bright and early with her cup of coffee and watch this show. As a child, 6 years of age, she'd feed me spoons of her sweet, rich coffee; "Shaaawn c'mere!" She'd say with a warm smile across her age worn face that always seem to shine with wisdom and love. There was no part she loved more than seeing contestants win new vehicles whilst I favored the giant spinning wheel. I love her and her spirit lives through this song... As she lives still in 2015 today.

In order of best Price is Right announcers to worst, according to me, Johnny Olson would be number 1. Rich Fields would be number 2, Rod Roddy would be number 3, and George Gray is certainly the worst. I don't hate Roddy. I just like Fields better. He has more of the traditional game show announcer style, while Roddy was more flamboyant. I like Olson, Fields, and Roddy a lot. I'm not a huge Gray fan. But Johnny Olson was the best Price is Right announcer. For one thing, he was the guy that started the phrase, "COME ON DOWN!!!" Plus I've always enjoyed Olson announcing game shows. From Match Game to Price is Right, and even some less known Goodson-Todman game shows like Double Dare. I've always enjoyed Johnny Olson.

This song makes me nostalgic, happy and sad all at the same time. It reminds me of my childhood, specifically the last day of school because we got out at the time The Price As Right came on. On the other hand, it reminds me of three of the most influential people in my life, and they are gone (my mom, grandma and aunt). They loved this show.

RIP Bob Barker (1923-2023). I watched The Price is Right with my grandmother all the time from about 2001 or 2002 until around the time of Bob's last show on June 15, 2007. (She died October 31, 2007, 16 days after Drew Carey made his debut as the new host) I still watch The Price is Right episodes with Drew Carey as host, but on occasion, I binge-watch Barker-hosted episodes on KZbin.

Jenna Keith About a year ago, life was getting me down pretty hard, I was depressed as hell about a lot of terrible things. I somehow wound up coming across this video, and I was INSTANTLY smiling. I was suddenly 4 years old again, in a warm, antique-riddled room, lit only by the ancient wooden cased television, sitting on the dusty beat up carpet in my onesie pajamas, next to my grandmas reclining chair, eating fish sticks and ketchup. :D Magical. This is my pick-me-up song. This is my warm happy place song. :D

There are just some people, that you get so accustomed to, that they can't be replaced. Bob is one of those people. So many of us grew up with him. He was like an honorary Uncle who came to visit us every week at our homes. Drew is good, but he's like a spoiled nephew who was chosen to inherit a major empire or something and tries to follow in the footsteps, but doesn't have the same qualities to make it special. It just did not have the same excitement for me, since Bob left. RIP, you've more than earned it!
