@SawyerDesign5 ай бұрын
Well, Sony doesn’t actually record raw. Its h.264 at 100mb/s at 10-bit 4:2:2 in slog3/sgamut3cine, so at 30fps, about twice the data and the slowmo is 60/120 or 4x/8x the data (about twice the color gamut) as the deliverable. @@SawyerDesign I’ll be honest, a lot of that goes over my head. I’m more into photography than video. But does your Sony send RAW out through the HDMI port, that you can then record externally? There are two woodworkers whose videos I await with great anticipation, yours, and Mr. Pedula’s. Art, design, woodworking, it does not get better, but you are funnier. That said, the video you made telling of your child’s death was one of the saddest I have ever seen. I cried. You see, at the age of 71, I have been blessed with two very young children. I want to teach them woodworking. I would love to show them your excellent videos. But alas, I cannot. Despite your bleeping and your obfuscation of letters, I am still going to get the question “Daddy, what is that word that begins with ‘F’”. We are not quite ready for that concept yet, nor should we be, particularly when it is introduced by a stranger. Besides, your assertion is scientifically incorrect. Plants don’t do that; they pollenate via symbiotic relations with other species. I pray that you and your wife are most successful in your endeavors to have a child or three. You will find much joy and you will come to understand introducing concepts in their time. God bless you. Dr. W. David McGuinn. Oh, and BTW, that Creationist nonsense in the video was unnecessary. Most Christians know that God used the Darwinian process of natural selection to create life on this wonderful planet over the very short course of 4.5 billion years. Your little diatribe was condescending and arrogant and not politically correct, even for Portland. Be inclusive, even with Christians.
@SawyerDesign5 ай бұрын
I thank you for the thoughtful response. I understand the protecting children from my language. I come from a very religious family and while I know that nothing I say will cause anyone to open their perspectives, I also won’t tiptoe around as to not offend anyone. After watching 9 months and a lifetime of expectations die in my arms, I won’t lie that my wife and I have been lost and broken. The game of life is frustrating and this platform places self worth in the hands of algorithms and others. I’m very inclusive, yet have a hard time aiming to please those that take themselves so seriously that they can’t appreciate a well crafted joke. I don’t really care anymore to try and please everyone at the expense of my own well being. I don’t really care that you have the luxury of having children to protect from my language. Good problem to have. Wish I had the same problem. I censor myself to keep everyone happy. Not sure how much more I can do to please everyone while maintaining authenticity. I’m crude. I’ve got a dark sense of humor. I’m talented, broken, and trying. At least I’m still trying. Thanks for watching and sorry if you chose not to in the future. I totally understand. I’ll keep trying.

Not my favorite video but can't fault you for the experimentation. I did appreciate the science lesson though and hope you do more of that. The vid just has a bit of that student film vibe of being overly stylized for sake of being stylized with respect to the narration and seems like you phoned it on the camera/lighting compared to past videos(no camera man??). Personally prefer earlier style of vids prior to that last Tambour door piece. Seems to been when you started leaning into this more. I'll continue to watch b/c your work is great, it just might be on mute😘. Eve's bush joke was pretty funny but tbh, it would be great if I could have at least one category of media I consume not be infiltrated by religion or politics, regardless of whether I agree w the perspective or not. Sincerely hope things go your way this time around w/ pregnancy attempt. I'd say I'm praying for you but, I don't pray. Edit: also hope you aren't fully abandoning the complexity of your past projects. I think it's probably one of the reasons you grew your audience and there's not really anyone else doing that on youtube other than Pedulla. maintain the niche.
