The Exceptional and Amazing Quilts of the Swartzentruber Amish Family of Enos and Sarah Glick.

I fully did not expect to meet with Lydia today and receive this incredibly friendly and kind hospitallity, let alone view the MOST fabulous quilts you will ever see. All cut by hand, pieced on treadle sewing machines and quilted by hand on the most simple and yet functional quilting racks, beyond belief! With utmost respect to all of my Amish quilting friends, I must say that this family is capable of the finest quilting I have seen. Lydia, a young Amish woman, has become a very dear friend of mine, an old English woman, almost unheard of between the very private and secluded Swartzendtruber Old Order Amish. This first part of my visit with Lydia reflects my respect for this family, and Lydia's old school teachings. Part 2 on Wednesday February 5 will showcase a few more quilts and then my choices of fabric and colors for my own "Bear Paw" Quilt!
