George Christie is a well-known figure in the world of motorcycle clubs, particularly the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club. Born on April 26, 1947, Christie grew up in Ventura, California. His involvement with motorcycles and the outlaw biker culture began at a young age, eventually leading him to join the Hells Angels, one of the most infamous and influential motorcycle clubs in the world.
George Christie was fascinated by motorcycles and the rebellious lifestyle associated with them from an early age. This interest led him to become deeply involved in the biker community. Before joining the Hells Angels, Christie was a part of several other motorcycle clubs, gaining a reputation for his dedication and leadership abilities.
Christie's association with the Hells Angels began in the late 1970s. He quickly rose through the ranks due to his charismatic leadership and commitment to the club's values. Christie served as the president of the Ventura chapter for over three decades, making it one of the most powerful chapters in the Hells Angels organization. Under his leadership, the chapter expanded its influence and became known for its strong sense of brotherhood and loyalty.
Throughout his time with the Hells Angels, Christie faced numerous legal challenges. He was arrested multiple times on charges ranging from drug trafficking to conspiracy and racketeering. Despite these legal battles, Christie remained a prominent figure within the club and continued to advocate for the Hells Angels' way of life.
One of the most significant legal battles came in 2011 when Christie was indicted on charges of conspiracy and extortion. He eventually pled guilty to conspiracy charges and served time in federal prison. His legal issues and eventual imprisonment marked a turning point in his relationship with the Hells Angels.
Following his release from prison, Christie distanced himself from the Hells Angels. He focused on rebuilding his life and sharing his experiences with a broader audience. Christie became an author and public speaker, providing insights into the biker world and his time with the Hells Angels. His memoir, "Exile on Front Street: My Life as a Hells Angel... and Beyond," offers a detailed account of his life within the club and the challenges he faced.
Christie also created a one-man show, "Speak of the Devil," where he shares stories from his time with the Hells Angels, giving audiences a glimpse into the life of an outlaw biker. His transition from a high-ranking Hells Angels member to a public figure and storyteller highlights his ability to adapt and reinvent himself.
George Christie's legacy is a complex one. He is often seen as a symbol of the outlaw biker culture, embodying the rebellious spirit and brotherhood that defines clubs like the Hells Angels. However, his legal troubles and eventual departure from the club also illustrate the darker side of this lifestyle. Christie's journey from a dedicated club member to a public speaker and author reflects the multifaceted nature of his life and the impact he has had on the world of motorcycle clubs.
Despite the controversies surrounding his name, George Christie remains a significant figure in the history of the Hells Angels and the broader biker community. His stories and experiences continue to captivate audiences, providing a unique perspective on a subculture that is often misunderstood
and romanticized.

When I was a kid we lived across the street from many HA members and my mom was a single mom struggling to make ends meet and the members always feed us and took care of us. Have us rides on the bikes. I would love to try and find them to say thank you for looking out for us. To this day I still ride.

George is a survivor. He would likely rise to the top of any place he landed. Many folks can barely handle their own life, but George ran 5 businesses AND was president of Ventura TOO! A truly unique individual and a consummate statesman, his message is of positivity. To still be alive, telling the stories he does after being outed politically, proves his skills and maybe shows that the club still has respect for him on an individual level.

Goerge fucked himself over Sonny had nothing to do with it 🤷 believe what you want goerge is just trying to control the narrative ..but the facts are out there if you know what your looking for .. perfect example Nick Mead ! Nick Mead spent $100k on making a film last American outlaw , which Mead cancelled George never had permission from the club and when Mead found out he asked goerge for the plea agreement he made about firebombing in Ventura to show he was not lying again goerge refused Nick cancelled the showings because he did not believe in the project anymore ...

I used to live off of 35ave and Northern in Phoenix AZ. From what I learned Sonny had family who lived around the corner- in the neighborhood behind Jack in the Crack. My best friend had a family member who married a female member of Sonny's family. Believe it was a close cousin or something. There was a few times huge Mobs of HA would cruise down 35th ave. I'm talking about 100s of bikes. They went through like 5 sets of red and green lights, it was nuts.

@@gregnolan916 His words are very clear. He said, "I joined in 1965, left in 1966, and was in it close to 6 years." I don't doubt what he's saying. He probably just misspoke. I've read in a few different places that he was a Marine Core Reservist for most of the sixties, but I haven't seen anything noting specific dates. He did continue working for the government as an electrician and communications troubleshooter for the Department of Defense, so it's possible these overlapped.

George is a fascinating stand up dude...A true American.

Easy now, don’t forget he was an outlaw! Broke the law, sold drugs, prostitution, we all have to consider that he most likely killed as well! So as an old guy he might look like a stand up guy, at an old age… But he was a 1%’er And he right out said I never will ask you to do something, that as myself would not do. So he is pretty much saying right out he has killed…

@hubes96 he has integrity....his life wasn't a fairy tale, he signed up for that life & the people involved in that life knew what they got themselves into. Do I agree with their actions? No...his actions are not any different from the alphabet cops that break laws & violate American rights on a daily basis. His life was 100% different from yours & mine.

Awsome interview! But I’ve wondered why in these interviews these guys never talk about the pagans mc ? Do they just not deal with that club much or ?

These clubs are very interesting. But they are deemed to fail because the criminal nature of their existence. They want power and respect from society however they want power and respect from within also which leads to internal turmoil. Deciding to be an “outlaw” comes with doing outlaw $hit and outlaw consequences.

I worked with Papa for several months, a bunch of years back when he was SF Secretary. We worked on Chet Helm's / Family Dogs' 35 th Anniversary of The Summer of Love in San Francisco in Golden Gate Park. The Angels did the Community Food Drive. Papa was a gentleman and it was great to see Him lined up with The SFPD guys backstage in the food line to eat vitals cooked by Chef Ray from The Grateful Dead. Chet drew 60K with no arrests or any problems other than one coranary. I was Sorry to Hear about Papa's Death . May Peace Be with ALL.

George was a standup dude snd like a 40 year member or something look at what they did to tiny ba and all kinds of ex members now,the mongols now have a few of their big time dudes out as bad now,the clubs are losing members, losing support,mc clubs are dropping the state rockers or bottom rockers for county or something else so they can stay out of all that

Hey, right on. George, wish more Americans could discretion and class that you showed on this interview in everyday life. Truly a figure the youth should look up to, unlike the no nothing idols they get from today's and yesterday's POP culture, for the most part (there were some folks that were/are decent enough, but not many).
