But there is more than one meaning of the little horn in Dan.8, it's not only Antiochus. It's also the second coming of the little horn in the end of times. But yeah, it's hidden and quite difficult to find out. For that it's necessary to regard all prophetic chapters in the Book of Daniel. Daniel didn't understand the vision in chapter 8, even yet, as the angel explained him the ram and the goat. For a better understanding Daniel receives in chapter 9 the prophecy of the 70 Weeks (of years) (chapter 9 is not a vision as chapter 2, 7, 8, 10-12!). If we understand the whole concept of the prophecies in Daniel, that they are only one prophecy shown from different angles with many different aspects and details, so we can understand, that all visions and prophecies in the Book of Daniel always refer to kingdoms in ancient times and one last kingdom in the end of times. Also in chapter 8. The little horn once came in the ancient times (Antiochus IV. Epiphany) and will come once again in the end of times the antichrist). We can better understand that with the chapter 11: In the verses 21 to 32 is described Antiochus as a king of the north. But those verses also refer to that king, which is described from verses 36 to 45. Verses 21 to 32 have got a dual meaning. They describe one king and another king. That's important to understand the riddles in Revelation 17, 9 to 11. "The seven heads are seven mountains and also seven kings. Five have been fallen (the first five horns of the goat in chapter 8: Alex. the Great, Kassander, Lysimachus, Seleukus I. and Ptolomy I.), one is (the first appearance of the little horn, Antiochus IV.), the other one (seccond appearance of the little horn, the antichrist) did not yet come. But when he comes, he must stay a little while. The beast (the antichrist), which was and is not, this is also the eighth and is one of the seven (Daniel 11, 21-32; 36-45)." To understand that: In Daniel 11 there are described in the verses 5 to 32 the king of the north, in fact seven kings of the north, which all could be identyfied as seven historical seleucid kings, beginning from Seleukos I. Nikator up to Antiochus IV. Epiphany. And in the verses 36 to 45 is described an eighth king of the north the Antichrist), which description also begins in the verses 21 to 32. So in that case this king is the beast in the endtimes which is one of the seven seleucid kings. We all know, that the beast with seven heads and the ten horns in Revalation 17 is the same beast as in Rev. 13, which rises out of the sea. And we all agree, that that beast in Rev. 13 is the fourth beast in Daniel chapter 7, right? But Rev. 17, 8 teils us, that the beast, which John saw, that was (before the times of John), and is not (during the times of John) and will rise out of the abyss and go into destruction (in future times after John). So for that we know, that the Roman Empire isn't that beast, and can't be. But if we regard the appearance of the beast in Rev. 13, we can see, that it looks like a leppard. Also the third beast in Daniel chapter 7 looks like a leppard. So it might be the better conclusion, that the beast of Revelation 13 and 17 is the fourth beast from Dan. 7 and also the "ressurection" of the third beast in Dan. 7. Therefore: The five, who have been fallen and the one, who is and the other one, who has yet to come, they all have to be searched in the ancient greek empire (especially the goat in chapter 8, which means the kings of Greece). The Book of Daniel tells us, that the last ignorant king (little horn, the Antichrist) comes out of the Greek Empire, which started with Alexander the Great and then was devided into four kingdoms (the Diadochean Kingdoms) and out off one of these four kingdoms comes that little horn, which has got two appearances: one in ancient times (Antiochus) and one in the end of times (Antichrist). That is the root, from where the Antichrist comes from and the Book of Daniel describes this for us to understand.^^ Also I do believe, that the 2300 evenings and mornings also could mean 2300 days according to the days of creation, where with evening and morning it was the first (the second, the third, the fourth, the fifth and the sixth) day. Therefore that a day also could mean a year or thousand years according to Peter, it is possible to understand the 2300 evenings and mornings as a timeframe of 2300 years also. And in that case it might be, that there is a timeframe from the abomination of desolation in the times of Antiochus to the end of abomination of desolation in the endtimes, which will be caused by the Antichrist. In that case, calculating 2300 years beginning from the year 168/167 b.c. until now, we are in the 2191st year and 109 years are still remaining, until this timeframe will be fullfilled. Maybe this could be the case? There is a hint in Daniel 11, 33 -35. And I also believe, that the 70 Weeks of years in Daniel 9 show us that more exactly, if we understand chapter 9 the right way.^^

Excellent series: but you do not take the prophecies down to the second coming itself. There will be a second "Antiochus Epiphanes" [king of the north] at the end time who will be destroyed without human hands-this time Christ at His return.

At 10.30, the scriptures say this power grew exceeding great, greater than the previous one that represented Alexander the Great. History does not show that Antiochus Epiphanes was greater than Alexander the Great.

well,well, reconsider your understanding of the prophecy of daniel 8, your interpretation is wrong the way you have interpreted the little horn and 2300days, check that!

I understand why the historicity of Daniel 8 representing Antiochus IV Epiphanes and so on. Have you considered that this prophecy to actually be “at the time (H6256 & G2540) of the end (H7093 & G4009)” - Daniel 8:17? Daniel 8:9 mentions that it be “at the time appointed - mô‛êd (H4150 & G2540) the end (H7093 & G4009)”. Daniel 8:14 mentions that unto two thousand and three hundred evenings and mornings that at the time appointed - mô‛êd the end (Daniel 8:9) “the sanctuary (H6944 & G) be cleansed (H6663 & G2511)”. Leviticus 16:19 mentions “cleanse (H2981 & G2511) it, and shall sanctify (H6942 & G37) it” is on the Day of Atonement. Have you considered that Daniel 7, 8, 10, 11 & 12 are all taking about the same end timeline event that parallels the events of Revelation? Appointed Time(s) & Day(s) of Daniel & Revelation: 1,335 Days - Daniel 12:12 1,290 Days - Daniel 12:11 1,260 Days (42 Months) - Daniel 7:25, 12:7, Revelation 11:2, 11:3, 12:6, 12:14 & 13:5 1,150 Days - Daniel 8:14 150 Days (5 Months) - Revelation 9:5 & 9:10 10 Days - Daniel 1:12, 1:14, 1:15 & Revelation 2:10
