I keep noticing how the conversations are inherently competitive. We can’t think about Trans issues because we have to worry about women, or men, or minorities… we can worry about all of them and stop making it a competition for our time and energy. This is part of the water we swim in. Even those on the Left see ourselves as competing with the other parts of our larger culture and community.

Which is super weird to me because many of the same protections for one group will automatically cover another group. Attention devoted towards a group that isn't ones pet cause can still help ones pet cause, so getting mad about it... At best, divides you away from someone who you could amplify your voices together with. At worst, makes them actively want to carve out an exception just to spite you, if one is a big enough rudehole about it :v (And of course there are groups that need additional protections, but it's not like adding those on once the momentum of an actual movement is going is going to backtrack things. Adding whatever additional protection and help a specific sub-group needs is more like a side-path in the same direction, not a complete 180 away from the protections that DO cover broad strokes) (broad stroke protections being things like increased privacy rights, prevention of state intervention in private lives, de-criminalization and pardoning of non-violent 'crimes' on the books which get used against minorites, like how sodomy laws were used against gay men and trans women in equal measure, etc).

He wants to "cease funding to programs that promote the idea of gender transition at ANY AGE" not just for children. It's going to breed a culture of ignorance and make trans people get alienated even more than they already are because people won't know about the issues we face. And it will also make trans people who haven't discovered they are trans yet struggle for even longer to figure out who they are. He wants to remove gender as a protected status which will mean we can be openly discriminated against when it comes to jobs, healthcare etc. And above all of that, the transphobic rhetoric and lies he spreads is only going to increase the amount of violence and hate that we face just for being ourselves because people have been radicalized to hate us.

You'd think people would've learned by now that discrimination and social issues aren't a competition. The term oppression olympics has been around for a while to describe this very issue. And with the importance of representation and elevating people's voices, you'd think it'd be intuitive by now that people are going to spend the most time talking about the things they have the most knowledge and experience to talk about, even if they also care about other issues they may not be equipped to discuss in the same amount of detail. Something I think we need is more content just educating people about the problems that get misunderstood and representation. Stuff like explaining how immigration affects the economy without getting derailed by having to talk about all the disinformation scapegoating immigrants for economic problems. Encourage people to be more informed about how stuff really works, what they can do about it and making that information more accessible. If not personally, then by connecting people to resources focused on those things. Biased algorithms and the degradation of search engines certainly isn't making it easy to find this stuff alone.

They would then pay nannies and butlers and house and field servants less than a dollar an hour. This is a thinking exercise where you exaggerate a function to visualize a trend. So 50 million immigrants vs 1 billion? The effects would be about 5-10% as bad as my hypothetical. Workers would get minimum wage, houses would become even more unaffordable, and the wealthy would have to pay their servants less and their stocks can rise. 2 million undocumented own homes. I'm fine with immigration as long as it is fair, so since it helps the wealthy and businesses while hurting the poor.... the only fair way would be to first redistribute all the financial assets and real estate. Otherwise middle class Americans lose while wealthy win, so the wealthy Dems who want it can give up their homes & assets first. How are construction jobs "jobs Americans won't do?" You can read what they write: they worry their service workers will get paid more if there isn't a serf class to help suppress wages. Also real estate, this should signal a fall in housing in the next few years as credit tightens, AI lays off the non-deplorable, and housing shortage decreases.

I speak about trans genocide as "I don't want to loose my healthcare, and die. A lot of trans people will die, especially the youth. I'm worried we'll be targeted legally in many different ways both criminally and civilly, targeted by citizens because we're seen as pornographic; get arrested for wearing clothes I like or going to the bathroom in the bathroom that aligns with my gender; I don't want to die so I can still fight." I experienced a fair amount of transphobia from pro-Palestine people that were white leftists that are very single-issue. One woman on TikTok told me she wanted me to lose my healthcare and die. It seemed like trans people are an ok sacrifice for their accelerationist goals. I'm also noticing a fair amount of liberal cis people feeling like their true transphobia is coming out because it's more permissible- like purposely deadnaming trans people that voted trump. It's pretty scary to look around and see this, because it's a broadening of transphobia that radicalizes people. When I realized I was trans, I never would have dreamed there'd be anti-trans ads on the television during football. This is what it is. May we be free from suffering and its causes. om mani padme hum.

I will look into which embassadors are still from the Bolsonaro period and which ones were replaced by progressive ones recently and post here in a few days I hope, I am not sure how easy that info will be to find. But as a Brazilian, if you seek Asylum in a Brazilian embassy I hope the Embassador will hear the case and then it is a fresh start in a still conflicting country where your youtube income could go a long way to make a living. Look up New Zealand, they explicitly have LGBTQ Asylum policies last time I checked. I had to check because we had Bolsonaro with similar policies. Japan is not LGBTQ friendly but is more friendly than either of our countries. If you are renewing your passport, also... I would not run to the border before checking the embassies. I'm a trans woman. I am saying that to show any biases I may have. I know there are always exceptions to any generalisations i make. I'm not making excuses or condoning certain behavior. Now to get on with it. I think we need to do 2 things. We need to look at why men act and feel the way they do, and stand with women to fight for all our rights. What is happening with womens rights at this moment gives all of us the power to unite. As trans women we have experience of how men are treated that a lot of women may not understand. We are also experiencing inequality that women have and are going through. What do men get told by society, media, friends and family? That they should be strong, not cry, don't show emotion or have feelings. Even their own friends will make fun and belittle them for it. They can't be vulnerable, they are told you are only valuable for what they can do. Women only seeking men that make this much, or this height. They join the army to protect and then tossed to one side when they are broken and no longer able. When i have opened up to partners i have had it used against me, making men not bother. Fool me once, and then women wonder why men don't open up. Uptill 1982 in the uk it was perfectly acceptable to refuse a woman service in a pub. Women had the lounge bar area in a pub. The point is that there are still people alive today, that have seen it all change before their eyes. Slowly men have had to share what was once their identity. Previous 'masculine' things slowly became shared. Women's boxing only got allowed by the iba in 1993. Everything they was told made you a man, has been gradually taken away leaving men with an identity crisis. You could say they were on top and still are so no smpathy, but the feeling this gives men is real. It also allows people to use that. Tell them their way of live is under threat, become a real man and treat women like property. Gays are not real men, trans women are sneaking up on your women. Oh now you have am army of men at your disposal to do your bidding if you tap into that. A lot are victims too of the same system and are been used to play out sick peoples games for power. Women have been told over and over again that trans women are a threat. Let's remind them that as a trans woman, to my knowledge i have never made a woman scared in the restroom, I've never taken away your rights, I've never let hundreds bleed out in hospitals because you no longer have the rights to your own body. The people that have been telling you this, stabbed you in the back while they made you believe we are the threat. We are all been played. You know the phrase trans rights are human rights? To me it means 2 things. 1 is obviously that we should have human rights. The 2nd however is that the fight for trans rights are the same fight for all humans. All the theybe's and gentlethem. The trans fight for human rights is a fight for all. Women want the rights to their own bodies, so do we. Let's stop fighting and see the puppeteers that are dividing us because they know if we all unite they'd be f'ed. Remind any in the lgb alliance that once they are done with us, it will be you. Tell terf's that you don't care if they don't think your a 'real' woman, I will still stand up for womens rights. I will march with you because trans rights are HUMAN rights.

TL;DR I'm in kind of a vulnerable position as a trans person though not entirely sure how vulnerable and what I most wanted to see after the election, selfishly I know, was someone who could understand this stuff better than I could talk about how much danger there was AKA how much can protections offered by the institutions in states like California stand before they crumble, realistically. That's relevant to those looking to flee to blue states, too, I suppose. But I don't know if that's even a video that's possible to make. I know at a certain point, we just don't know. --- I'm a white transmasculine person who's out at work and has been on T for years but has never passed for either gender my entire life. I live in California but I live on my jobsite, an extremely rural campground in the mountains. There's no public transportation and I don't own a car. I work as a housekeeping *assistant.* Not even an actual housekeeper. I basically just fold towels and pack supply totes for the housekeepers to take to the cabins, and I only got this job because my aunt told someone who used to work here I was autistic and he hired me without speaking to me first. I've never been able to get a job through the interview process. At this point I no longer have family connections and I only have two online friends I've never met. I don't mean to overshare or ramble here but my point is that I feel pretty stuck here. I know many of coworkers voted for Trump. They've been polite enough to my face over the years. I know at least one of my bosses is genuinely supportive so there is that, used my chosen name. Only one person, that boss, uses my pronouns (he/him) with any regularity but they're all gen X or above in age so I haven't pressed them too hard on it, anyway. But one of my neighbors, the one directly next to me, has suddenly stopped using my chosen name. He's trapped me in conversation to kind of push back against our trans specific training videos that employees are required to complete. I guess I'm just worried about how much being here is actually going to protect me. How strong state laws are vs federal laws, I suppose. Sorry if this isn't what you were asking for, or if its too narrow a view to even be worth talking about or something or if its common sense and I should already know. As for speaking to men, I think you had a point when it comes to figures like Ben Shapiro speaking to how they're feeling. They're feeling insecure and threatened. I think we gotta stop coming at them and work on getting rid of the "dunk culture", even in feminist spaces. As cathartic as it can be, poking fun at men's insecurities and instigating them makes them more hostile and oppositional than they began. Cis feminists especially tend much more antagonistic towards men, I think to defy the strict pressures placed on them to always be uber compassionate and kind. But compassion for our enemies is important if we want to stop having enemies. The struggle is not letting them warp the conversation with their illogical talking points they fall back on. Maybe by taking control of the conversation, we can slowly de-radicalize them by inviting them into some of our spaces, including them in conversations more, recognizing their concerns and making content, at least in partz targeted towards them. All at *our* pace. Similar to how AOC did on Tiktok. I know that comes with a lot of risks, it may not even work. But when in doubt, my instinct is to try compassion and sincerity. For what little it's worth, I texted all of my trans friends, made sure they were alright, asked if they needed anything and sent them all numbers for warm lines that don't phone the PD. Maybe it isn't, but I can't help but feel like it's nothing. I won't get too into the weeds, but maybe the first step to everything getting better, for me at least, is working up to the point where I can have more days where good things happen even though I don't think I deserve them, to the point where I can more consistently tell myself, "You deserve to have good things happen to you, too." Maybe I need to go to an area where there are more people that value people the same way I do, because those people seem so few and far between where I am now, and I just wish I could meet new people without having to wonder if they're bigoted about something and it just hasn't come up yet. I hate that I just have to survive for now.

Purely electorally, I think Tim Walz's response was good... "Mind your own damn business!" The federal government doesn't need to wade in on trans people in sports or what the standard of care for trans kids is. I have massive empathy for the trans community but I think that centering a political campaign on trans issues is unwise and is going to lead to the other side, the anti trans side, using the issue to divide the voters and win. Not that that's what the Kamala campaign did... the problem there was an insufficient message on how she was going to improve the economy for everyday people. (I don't mean her policies were worse, I mean her message failed to resonate and she struggled to distance herself from Biden). I've been thinking of you and trans Americans since the election. I sincerely hope the political system's guardrails, and the Trump team's own incompetence, prevent their policies matching the worst of the rhetoric we've been hearing.

And got stares, and laughed at by 2 car loads of high school girls. Just minding my own business, going to get chilli fixin's. Even if a single bill isn't passed, the fact that people can run on a campaign of hate and win so solidly... it sure sets a standard that emboldens haters. Just going to the store. Yea! Someone already struggling with mental health and depression, just trying to live, and it's now ok to be bullied. I've always got bullied, but now it's ok for them to do it. They won. They get their way. Still feel like I need to be put down. Objectified. Dehumanized. You want to know how much of an abomination I am? I cried. That's the monster they are fighting. As a person of color, I've run into situations in my graduate film school where my script was "perhaps too political." Like, just talking about cultural issues I've experienced and family and friends, nothing with an overt message, but just a blatant illustration of what our lives are like, was just deemed political. Idk, I start to get very worried as to how our society overall isn't quite educated in solitary and viewing topics as black & white "non-political" versus "political" stories

While I am worried beyond belief at the next four years and am infuriated (to put it lightly) at family and people in general for voting for Trump/trying to throw trans people under the bus. I'm also hopeful as within the last week I've seen trans communities rally like never before, starting to figure out how to resist any harmful ways that our rights would be taken away and mobilize to help people accelerate their transition needs. I've also seen local support groups who aren't specifically focused on trans issues rally behind trans people. And I've seen prominent names from John Oliver to Seth Myers call out the Democratic party for trying to throw us under the bus. I've even seen a report that one of those Democrat politicians Tom Suozzi is agreeing to trainings run by local trans activists in the NYC area in an effort to better educate him about trans issues and that we're not the problem. These next four years will definitely be rough, but I'm hopeful seeing the local movements already that going forward, legitimate change will be brought. Our backs may be against the wall, but we're together, and we aren't going down quietly.

We're making a fundamental mistake. We are assuming that people voted for Trump because they have grievances, because they are suffering, because they are hoping that someone can come in and effect change and make their lives better. That's not the case at all. The people voting for Trump are the comfortable. The people voting for Trump are the powerful. People voting for Trump are the ones who don't have any grievances, so they have to manufacture them. They have to make things up. This is fundamentally clear in one of the biggest issues they talk about, immigration. Immigration isn't hurting them. Illegal immigration isn't hurting them. It's not a problem in their lives, yet it's one of the first things they mention when you ask them why they vote for Trump. The reason is is they have to manufacture grievance. Their grievance is they don't have any grievances. I don't buy this crisis in masculinity. Maybe it's my own neural diversity, and the neurodiversity of my teenagers, who I do not see struggling with "masculinity."

7:42 That Dang Dad just had a video that had a lot of focus on this. He talked about an old video where he tried to reach disaffected men to try to connect their struggles with marginalized groups as a means of showing them their problems are recognized and being fought to be addressed. However, the response he got was a lot of men instead telling him they felt their problems were being told as being lesser, which flew in the face of the words he was clearly stating. It’s hard to break through the entitlement which then feeds into the uniquely oppressed thing (something also seen among white women and even white sapphics, especially white lesbians ime). It’s frustrating when the problems are exacerbated by conflicts in basic communication. 😞

I though i had been standing on some kind of thin piece of metal. I debate driving daily KNOWING that i run a good risk of hitting someone and potentially horribly injuring or ending them, potentially multiple people. My entire family voted against even people even pretending like i should have transportation. I'm stuck at a dead end job i hate and all i feel is that I'm alone and that this is all my future ever will be. I'm not even transgender and am bi but not particularly open about it. For further context: I'm legally blind in a small town. My family moved out here in 2018 and i have had no transportation aside from family. I feel bad enough living with family while not even paying for rent or anything. They can't transport me to and from a job daily and I can't afford a $50+ daily uber trip to and from a job (well over $100 for lyft round trip). I used to live in a Dallas suburb that had paratransit outsourced to lyft. The small town I'm in now decided to end its paratransit service entirely. I guess aside from family taking me places, I'm just supposed to stay home forever. I'm 28 and it feels like I'm both 12 and 95 simultaneously.
